Lingering Passion: Mr. Sutton Wants to be Your Male Lead!-Chapter 173: He’s Her Man
Lily Harrison was completely unprepared for Stella Grant’s sudden appearance.
She wanted to argue, but given the current situation, that was clearly impossible.
Lily stared at Stella for a moment, then her eyes started to dart around. After a few minutes, she resorted to her infamous trio of antics—crying, screaming, and threatening suicide.
Suddenly, Lily slid off the long bench in the hospital corridor and started wailing loudly.
"This is outrageous! An elder being hit by a younger!"
"Your mom’s in the hospital, yet as her daughter, you only care about making money and aren’t by her side. I’ve been sticking close by as her sister-in-law. Instead of being grateful, you’re hitting me."
"Why did your mom end up in the emergency room? It’s because she misses you so much."
Absolutely shameless and unscrupulous.
Lily’s outrageous behavior quickly attracted a crowd of ’spectators’.
Stella looked down at her, jaw clenched, unmoved. After about a minute, she closed her eyes briefly, then opened them and, as if possessed, bent over and grabbed Lily’s collar, slapping her across the face.
After delivering six or seven slaps, Elliot Adler, who was standing nearby, couldn’t take it anymore and stepped forward to shield Lily.
However, just as he took a step forward without getting close, Stella straightened up, pointed at him, and said, "If you dare come over here, I’ll slap you too."
For a moment, Elliot was intimidated by Stella.
When he snapped out of it, his face turned red with shame and anger at the thought of being scared by her. He stepped forward, intending to grab her arm and retaliate.
True to her word, Stella backhanded him across the face.
Elliot’s eyes burned with anger, "Stella Grant, how dare you hit me!"
Stella turned to face him, her gaze cold, her voice even colder, as though freezing the air within a meter around them, "You better pray my mom is okay. Otherwise, hitting you won’t be the worst of it."
In the matter concerning Lynn Adler, Elliot felt guilty. His lips quivered, and after a while, he forced out a sentence, "Aunt, Auntie’s emergency has nothing to do with us, you..."
Elliot mumbled on, but seeing Stella squint her eyes, the rest of his words caught in his throat.
The atmosphere was tense when Ms. Dunn appeared out of nowhere, weaving through the crowd to reach Stella, grabbing her hand, "Miss Grant, don’t act impulsively. It’s not worth it with these people..."
Elliot couldn’t take on Stella, but hearing Ms. Dunn’s words, he immediately targeted her, "Who’s not worth it, huh?"
Stella looked at him coldly, "If you dare say one more word, I’ll slap you so hard your mom won’t recognize you."
By this time, a significant crowd had gathered to watch the spectacle. Unwilling to back down, Elliot gritted his teeth, "Stella Grant, don’t go overboard. I’m trying to be considerate that you’re a woman and not make a fuss. But if you keep being unreasonable, I..."
Before Elliot could finish his threat, someone suddenly kicked him hard in the lower back, sending him sprawling on the ground.
The crowd burst into deliberately suppressed laughter.
Silas Sutton’s kick was fierce, leaving Elliot lying on the ground, eyes rolling, unable to recover for a moment.
Silas stepped over him and walked to Stella’s side, wrapping an arm around her shoulder, "Go sit over there."
Stella pressed her lips tightly together, looked up at Silas, but didn’t respond.
Silas tilted his head, his lips curling slightly, and in a voice only they could hear, said, "Stella, I’m not your lover, but am I not your man?"
Stella, "..."
Silas spoke in a low voice, "Go sit down. Let your man handle this."
Stella, "..."
Ms. Dunn heard Silas’s words clearly despite his low voice as she stood beside Stella.
Ms. Dunn looked at Silas, marveling at how handsome he was, while also being surprised by his role.
Not Stella’s lover, yet her man.
This role was confusing indeed.
Not having time to think about it, Ms. Dunn worried Stella would rush over to fight with Lily and the others again, so she joined Silas in persuading her, "Miss Grant, let’s sit down for now. Adler is still inside, and if you get hurt, imagine how upset she’ll be when she comes out..."
Ms. Dunn’s words struck a chord with Stella.
Stella pressed her lips into a tight line, her red lips barely moving, "Okay."
Once Stella sat down, Silas squatted in front of Elliot, lighting a cigarette and lounging lazily, "Got any limbs you don’t like? I can help you get rid of one."
