Lingering Passion: Mr. Sutton Wants to be Your Male Lead!-Chapter 203: Life Is Short, Enjoy It While You Can
Zeke’s shout was quite intimidating.
Kenneth’s face fell instantly as he looked at him.
The two stared at each other, neither backing down nor compromising.
A few minutes later, it was Kenneth who finally hesitated and spoke first, gritting his teeth, "As long as you deny it to death, he won’t find out anything."
Zeke was still haunted by the beating from last time, "What if..."
Kenneth gave him a sideways glance, "Those people from back then are either dead or missing, what ’if’ could there be?"
Upon hearing this, Zeke pondered for a moment, then nodded in agreement, "Indeed."
Kenneth said, "Keep your mouth shut, don’t get drunk and start blabbering nonsense."
Zeke replied, "Don’t worry, not only won’t I talk when drunk, even if you submerge me in a vat of wine, I won’t say a word about the past."
Kenneth initially had wanted to vent his anger here after being annoyed by Lynn, but now, he couldn’t muster the energy. He gave a light snort, "Better be."
Kenneth didn’t stay with Zeke for long and left after half an hour.
Upon hearing the door close, Lily walked out of the bedroom.
She glanced at the closed door, crossed her arms, and said with a sneer, "He’s gone?"
Zeke managed a smile, reaching out to grab some fried peanuts from the plate in front of him and tossed them into his mouth, "He’s gone."
Lily said, "He really is shameless, trying to come here and cause trouble."
Zeke was dwelling on other matters and didn’t respond to Lily.
Seeing him distracted, Lily walked over and grabbed his ear, "Tell me, what were you two talking about just now?"
Zeke winced in pain, baring his teeth, "Nothing much, didn’t you guess it before he even came? That fifty thousand matter."
Lily snapped, "You yelled so loudly just now, do you think I’m deaf?"
Zeke pushed her away with a stern face, "Stay out of this."
Lily was annoyed, "Why should I stay out? Zeke, I’ve been with you for over thirty years, is there anything about you that I shouldn’t know?"
Zeke had always been afraid of Lily, but this time he was adamant, "Knowing this won’t do you any good."
After saying that, Zeke tossed the peanuts he had grabbed back into the plate and stood up, returning to the bedroom.
Lily followed, wanting to continue questioning him, but Zeke simply locked the bedroom door.
Lily couldn’t open the door, so she stood outside causing a fuss.
Zeke lay on the bed, hands behind his head, wanting to close his eyes and sleep for a while, but as soon as he closed them, he saw a face covered in blood. 𝘧𝓇ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝘣𝓃ℴ𝓋𝑒𝑙.𝑐𝘰𝑚
He abruptly opened his eyes, palms sweating lightly.
On the other side, Kenneth, after going downstairs, took a baseball cap from his pocket, put it on his head, then took out a mask and put it on. After glancing around, he hurried to the roadside to hail a taxi.
As Kenneth got in the taxi, a bodyguard in a business vehicle at the corner of the alley made a call.
When the call was connected, the bodyguard respectfully said, "President Sutton, the person has come out and got into a taxi, seems like they’re leaving Brynnfield."
Silas responded in a deep voice, "Follow them, keep a close watch."
The bodyguard replied, "Understood."
After hanging up, the bodyguard in the passenger seat told the driver to "follow them."
Silas, after cutting off the call, looked up to meet Stella’s inquisitive gaze.
He didn’t hide anything, putting his phone aside, and offered her a bowl of soup, "Your uncle left your uncle’s community, got into a taxi."
Stella pursed her lips, looking at the soup Silas placed before her, took a breath and asked, "Why are you having someone follow him?"
Silas calmly met her eyes, "I suspect your uncle is connected to my kidnapping case back then."
Stella’s heart skipped a beat, "Are you saying..."
Seeing Stella’s thoughts going astray, Silas chuckled lightly, "Rest assured, your uncle doesn’t have that capability, I’m only suspicious..."
Stella lifted her lips, continuing his words, "You suspect he received money from the kidnappers?"
Silas neither confirmed nor denied, "It’s all just speculation."
Watching Silas’s smiling face, Stella suddenly thought of how he lost his closest brother in that kidnapping case years ago, her heart grew tighter, "Silas."
Silas’s smile remained unchanged, "Stella, life is short, enjoy it while you can."
