Chapter 743: Chapter 740 The Game Begins
Every member of the Hunter Team is an elite within their own industry, and it goes without saying that they act with exceptional execution. Upon receiving the information, they all headed for the building, one after another pushing open the grand doors, and within half an hour, all had arrived.
The photographers, who held their cameras, didn’t miss a single person, capturing it all. Aside from Commissioner Robert and Intelligence Director Teresa, they particularly introduced several of the leading members.
Senior Analyst, Ben Owen.
A former intelligence officer from Central Country, internationally recognized as a surveillance expert.
His past professional missions mainly involved gathering intelligence for high-profile anti-terrorism operations, eventually leading secret intelligence operation teams around Central Country.
It’s worth mentioning that Owen was also the deputy director for the Central Country version of “Stealth Track.”
Action Director, Lenny Debol.
He spent over 30 years tracking down violent criminals, terrorists, and drug traffickers.
As the former commander of the Ugly Country Marshals’ New York and New Jersey regional fugitive task force, he managed hundreds of criminal investigators from federal, state, and local agencies.
Action Guide One, Ryan Lee Phi Philips.
An experienced sergeant and commander, during his tenure he supervised and directed a SWAT team composed of 20 individuals, including tactical personnel, medics, snipers, and K-9 trainers.
Action Guide Two, Andrew Stumpf.
He served in the Navy SEALs for over 17 years, completing multiple combat missions and hundreds of operational actions on several battlefields.
His honors include 5 Bronze Star Medals and 4 Silver Star Medals, a Purple Heart, a Joint Service Commendation Medal, a Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, a Valor Medal, an Army Commendation Medal, 2 Combat Action Ribbons, and a Medal of Merit from the Ugly Country General Command.
After the photographer recorded all the key members, he still couldn’t help but be amazed.
There was no helping it, Bi Fang had the skill and the guts, but Yao Jun was honestly quite nervous. Being watched made him feel like he had already been exposed, ready to be hunted down at any moment.
Just as Yao Jun was sinking into his anxiety, Bi Fang gestured to the cameraman to come over.
The cameraman, who had just arrived at the hotel ten minutes before, was startled by Bi Fang’s gesture, looked around, and after confirming he was being called, ambled over.

The cameraman came over with a wry smile, “So, I’ve been found out, huh?”
Bi Fang smiled, “It’s a bit difficult for an ordinary person to follow a professional. So, how about it, have you eaten yet? Would you like some?”
The cameraman didn’t refuse as he had indeed skipped lunch; carrying equipment all the way had made him very hungry. He grabbed a piece of bread and stuffed it into his mouth, mumbling, “The manhunt hasn’t started yet, you guys better not run off. Oh, and here’s a card for you with five hundred Ugly Money in it. It’s all you’ll get for this month, but you can only withdraw a hundred at a time.”
A card was presented before him, and Bi Fang glanced at it a few times before stuffing it into his bag.
After lunch was done, the cameraman’s phone in his pocket began to vibrate.
The impressive track records of just these six commanding officers were enough to give any normal fugitive a headache.
What kind of criminal would warrant such an extravagant lineup for their capture?
The Joker of Gotham?
In the end, a total of thirty-five Hunters arrived, all brimming with determination.
A normal Hunter Team should consist of thirty people; this time they had intended to have thirty-two, with two being specifically for fieldwork, but now the number of field operatives had increased by three, all specially assigned to deal with someone.
As for who that someone was, it went without saying.
Before the hunt officially began, the fugitives would start the cat-and-mouse game an hour in advance. An hour later, the Hunters could begin the pursuit, knowing only the fugitive’s name, photo, and last known residence.
This meant that Robert and others were unaware of who exactly comprised the fugitive team.
But the first season of other versions of “Stealth Track” included thirty members, and shoehorning in an additional five field operators had made everyone realize that the situation was anything but simple.
Show Director Fisk, holding eighteen profiles of individuals, stood quietly in the corner, grinning as he watched Robert gather everyone together. There was still an hour before they would officially get the information of each fugitive, and definitely, they couldn’t just sit around; he believed they should use this hour to get to know each other and integrate.
The camera circled around everyone, not missing any exciting shots.
Robert, “Our team is outstanding. Each person has special talents, experience, and resources…”
…
Inside the hotel, Bi Fang and Yao Jun found a spot to enjoy the hotel’s lunch for the day.
After sitting down with his plate, Yao Jun looked around restlessly, perfectly illustrating what it meant to have a guilty conscience.
A good week had passed since they agreed to participate in “Stealth Track,” and the production team had not informed them when the escape would begin. Until the recording started, they had to live as normal people, unable to prepare in advance or hide in some remote mountain corner.
Otherwise, with Bi Fang’s survival skills, he could easily take Yao Jun and hide out in the Rocky Mountains in advance. It wouldn’t just be a month’s escape; they could probably manage a year, and the Hunter Team would be completely at a loss.
This led to Yao Jun feeling excited and anxious every day, always on edge and fearing that he would become a “fugitive” the next moment.
Bi Fang swallowed a piece of bread and wiped his hands on a wet wipe, “I think you’re really cut out for this show, you look just like a fugitive right now, a perfect immersion.”
Yao Jun didn’t mind Bi Fang’s teasing; he knew how thrilled he was, “I’ve already thought about how to spend the two hundred and fifty thousand Ugly Money.”
“You still care about that money?”
“Who doesn’t like free money?”
Confidence was brimming in Yao Jun’s words, clearly certain of victory, but this confidence was not from himself, but from Bi Fang beside him.
“Why haven’t they started yet? I’ve been waiting for days.”
“It’ll start soon.”
“How do you know?”
“Because the cameramen are already in place,” Bi Fang pointed behind Yao Jun.
“Where?”
Yao Jun turned to look and quickly spotted someone carrying a large bag and quietly watching them.
If Bi Fang hadn’t mentioned it, Yao Jun might not have been suspicious, just assuming the person was carrying luggage, but after the reminder, he immediately realized that the bag probably contained a camera!
Each fugitive is followed by a dedicated cameraman.
The production teams working with the hunters and those with the fugitives are separate, to prevent the transfer of information and to provide a more realistic environment.
“There are nine groups in total; the cameramen probably haven’t all arrived, so he’s likely waiting for the command to start moving. Once everyone is in place, they will come and notify us to start escaping,” Bi Fang guessed.
“So what do we do? Do we start running now?”
“No need, we haven’t even finished eating. Why the rush? Besides, did you read the rules? For the first hour after we start escaping, the Hunter Team gets our location from an hour ago, so there’s no use in running ahead.”
“Then do we need to shake them off? Like you did at Dolphin Bay?”
“Cough cough, shake off the cameraman? Are you serious?” Bi Fang was surprised by Yao Jun’s line of thought—without the cameraman, why would they even participate in the show?
Yao Jun also realized he had asked a rather foolish question and was very embarrassed.
Bi Fang and the cameraman exchanged a glance.
The cameraman took out his phone, glanced at the caller information, and smiled, “Looks like the game has started.”
