Live Strong in the Wilderness-Chapter 291: Wang Jin’s Camp
Xu Yi walked along the river for a dozen meters, then returned.
"How was it? Did you find anything?" Lu Ke immediately asked when he saw Xu Yi return.
Xu Yi shook his head and said, "No, it’s very clean. There’s a higher chance they went downstream. Let’s rest for a while, then search downstream."
"Yes, yes, let’s go look downstream, it’ll be easier," Lu Ke said. Since they weren’t far from the forest’s edge, they could definitely get out within two or three hours.
In about two or three hours, they should be able to find Wang Jin and Lu Yao’s camp.
Xu Yi nodded and then drank some water.
Lu Ke was still holding onto the reindeer, letting it eat some tender grass.
After resting for about ten minutes, they got back on their mounts and started searching downstream.
After a while, they saw a small house on the water.
"Found it, it’s really downstream. Great," Lu Ke said happily and then dismounted.
The river was still quite wide, and it was impossible to cross it while riding the Giant Wolf.
For Xu Yi and Lu Ke, a distance of more than three meters wasn’t far, and they easily jumped over.
The Giant Wolf and the reindeer could do it too, but with them on, it was difficult.
After collectively crossing the small river, Xu Yi and Lu Ke arrived at a campsite.
It was surrounded by walls, more than two meters high, all with spikes, looking very safe.
These walls must have cost Wang Jin and Lu Yao quite a bit of time and effort.
"Should we go in? The door is here," Lu Ke turned his head and looked at Xu Yi, after all, no one was in the camp.
"No, let’s stay outside and wait for them to come back. It looks like they are doing okay," Xu Yi said with a smile, since they were quite familiar with Wang Jin and Lu Yao.
If they could cooperate, it would naturally be the best.
"Okay," Lu Ke said, then patted the Giant Wolf’s head.
Wang Jin and Lu Yao must have gone hunting; there was no movement in the camp, nor were any animal sounds heard.
Initially judged that Wang Jin and Lu Yao shouldn’t be keeping any animals.
"Let’s go gather some firewood," Xu Yi said, then led the reindeer into the woods. After all, they had no intention of using Wang Jin and Lu Yao’s firewood.
Staying outside other people’s camps was normal; Team 403 had done it and hadn’t received any warnings.
So, Xu Yi planned to spend the night inside Wang Jin and Lu Yao’s enclosure with Lu Ke.
Of course, Wang Jin and Lu Yao couldn’t be invited.
If invited, the nature would be different.
The two went into the forest and brought back some firewood, enough to burn until the next morning.
The food situation was simple; just eat some jerky.
They did encounter some animals on the way, but didn’t make a move. After all, they came to find people, not for hunting.
As night fell, Wang Jin and Lu Yao hadn’t appeared.
Xu Yi already had the fire going and fetched some water to boil.
"Xu Yi, do you think Wang Jin and Lu Yao aren’t coming back for the night? It’s getting dark soon," Lu Ke said worriedly as he looked at the sky. After all, they had worked hard to find Wang Jin and Lu Yao’s camp but hadn’t met them.
"It’s hard to say. We can wait till noon tomorrow. If we don’t see them by noon, we’ll leave a note," Xu Yi said. He felt Wang Jin and Lu Yao wouldn’t spend the night without returning to their camp.
Unless something delayed them.
Now that they knew the location, they could come at any time.
Moreover, if they set out in the morning, they could definitely reach here by noon.
Since Xu Yi said that, Lu Ke had nothing more to say. He could only silently hope Wang Jin and Lu Yao would return soon.
In the forest immediately, Wang Jin and Lu Yao were dragging a wild donkey, which they had spent a lot of effort capturing today.
Being quite far, and with the wild donkey causing all sorts of trouble along the way, much time was delayed.
Otherwise, they would have returned to their camp an hour ago.
Luckily, they had prepared torches, so they could still walk in the forest after dark.
"Sis, is there a fire over at our camp?" Wang Jin, walking in front, stopped when she saw firelight in the direction of their camp.
Lu Yao came up, took a look, and nodded, "Yes, there’s firelight, another team must be staying overnight at our camp."
"Sis, do you think it’s Lu Ke and Xu Yi?" Wang Jin said happily, after all, Xu Yi and Lu Ke were also in this forest, and it was likely they had come here.
"It’s possible," Lu Yao nodded, saying happily.
She and Wang Jin had always wanted to find Lu Ke and Xu Yi, but it was difficult on their own feet, so when they found a herd of wild donkeys, they were thrilled, thinking they could ride them to find Xu Yi and Lu Ke once they caught them.
They spent three whole days and finally caught one wild donkey.
Moreover, this wild donkey was very fierce, nearly kicking both Wang Jin and her.
"What’s up, Giant Wolf? Is there a beast?" Lu Ke saw the Giant Wolf, leaning on her back, suddenly stand up, staring into the forest, and immediately raised his crossbow.
Xu Yi drew his machete and looked in the direction.
Then, Xu Yi saw some firelight.
"They must be back. There’s firelight. Hold onto the Giant Wolf to prevent injury," Xu Yi said, but didn’t put away his machete.
After all, without seeing them, the danger wasn’t eliminated.
As the firelight got closer, Lu Ke heard Wang Jin’s voice in the distance, "Hey, is that Lu Ke and Xu Yi over there?"
"Yes, it’s us!" Lu Ke responded happily and quickly put on the Giant Wolf’s muzzle for added safety.
After a while, Wang Jin and Lu Yao appeared in Lu Ke’s line of sight.
"Xu Yi, they’ve caught a big one, looks like a horse?" Lu Ke asked when he saw it.
Due to the organizer’s rules, he couldn’t help Wang Jin and Lu Yao, so he could only stay put and watch.
"It’s not a horse, it’s a wild donkey," Xu Yi saw clearly, so he recognized it as a wild donkey.
However, both were pulling it with effort, and the wild donkey wasn’t cooperating at all.
Seeing this, Xu Yi really wanted to say: Just give it a beating.
"Sis, is that a Giant Wolf beside Lu Ke?" As Wang Jin got closer, she saw the Giant Wolf beside Lu Ke and couldn’t help widening her eyes.
Xu Yi and Lu Ke actually tamed a Giant Wolf?
