Capítulo 2479: Chapter 229: Origin

“Where am I?”

Wang Ba slowly opened his ‘eyes’ and instinctively looked around.

He found himself unexpectedly in a stretch of ‘sea water’ shrouded in grayness.

Almost no light seemed to flow through.

Empty, clear, tranquil, with just a hint of grayness.

Vaguely, he could see particles floating in the water.

Whether looking forward or backward… it was all a vast emptiness.

Yet at the unseen horizon of ‘sight’, there seemed to be something huge rapidly gliding past in the deep sea…

Instinctively, he looked toward ‘himself’, but saw nothing, only beneath him.

No, he wasn’t sure if this was really ‘beneath’.

For he suddenly saw, in what he thought was ‘below’, footprints slowly pacing through his vision, treading upon the rippling water, with tiny waves spreading further out…

“Footprints?”

Wang Ba was slightly startled and instinctively wanted to swim towards the direction of the footprints.

But just as he was about to move, he realized those so-called footprints had already vanished silently from view at an eerie pace…

Suddenly he came to his senses:

“Wasn’t I just battling Tianshang Buddha?”

His heart was bewildered for an instant, as more memories awakened from deep within his consciousness.

Vaguely, he recalled his True Spirit being slapped out of his physical form by Tianshang Buddha, feeling a powerful force in his sleeve pulling him into an ‘ocean’, even faintly sensing a huge consciousness hiding in that ‘ocean’.

“Is it that horn?”

The memory gradually became clear.

He soon remembered being drawn by the horn’s power into a great ocean of waves.

“Seems a bit akin to the feeling when trying to gain approval from the core of Zhang’s Ruins.”

Wang Ba carefully recalled past memories and sensations.

Though he remembered very little in the rush, somehow all the scattered pieces of past experiences became sharply clear at this moment, etched in his mind, so distinct that all he had to do was desire it, and they would gush forth in an instant, without the slightest omission.

He could even recall books he read, words he wrote, all his life experiences before reincarnating into Little Cang World many years ago… 𝘧𝓇ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝘣𝓃ℴ𝓋𝑒𝑙.𝑐𝘰𝑚

“This horn must be related to Zhang’s Ruins; it was this horn that drew me into the core of Zhang’s Ruins… but once inside, another force drew me away.”

As he recalled each sensation, he quickly pieced together his experiences after his True Spirit was struck out by Tianshang Buddha.

The horn first pulled him into the core of Zhang’s Ruins.

But another force soon drew him into this current ‘sea water’.

“Then, where is this place?”

He pondered inwardly.

But quickly, the vividly clear memory reminded him of something else.

That being when Tianshang Buddha slapped him out of his physical form, he spoke these words:

“The vast earth is unchanging, yet it still holds the Four Great Emptiness.”

“Four Great Emptiness, Four Great Emptiness… the vast earth being one of the four, hence why the Land-Parting Staff’s effect in front of him couldn’t halt him.”

“No wonder… no wonder he could so easily strike out my True Spirit.”

In an instant, Wang Ba realized, and simultaneously recognized the connection among Buddhism’s Six Greats.

The Six Greats were indispensable; any deficiency would be a significant flaw against an opponent like Tianshang Buddha, who holds the complete Six Greats.

“Still missing the ‘True Void Staff’ of the Eastern Luli Buddha Realm.”

Wang Ba thought to himself.

He had a faint premonition that if he could gather these Six Root Magic Staff, meeting Tianshang Buddha again, even if he wouldn’t be a match, he wouldn’t have to watch the protective effects of the Land-Parting Staff break so easily.

“But ultimately, the difference in realms is too vast; even if there’s a flaw, it shouldn’t be so…”

His heart was both confident and helpless.

But these emotions didn’t last; countless thoughts flowed past his mind like an unstoppable flood.

Joy, anger, sorrow, happiness, disappointment, regret…

He immediately realized something was wrong with his state.

Yet at this moment, in his True Spirit state, even silently reciting the Taishang Emotion-refining couldn’t suppress the multitude of thoughts in his heart.

In fact, the more he tried to suppress it, the more flourishing these thoughts became, though simultaneously, he was an observer, watching these thoughts pass by, letting them grow and wither naturally, a heart of ice…

Among them were all the details of his cultivation, the rules of the cultivators, Buddhism’s Six Greats, all past cultivation experiences, flowing over the smooth stone as a shallow stream, visible to him like etched lines upon his palm…

Places he once overlooked, those he couldn’t comprehend, at this special state now seemed clear as fog lifting, leaving no trace of confusion.

Especially Buddhism’s Six Greats.

Before, he merely contemplated them without practicing.

Yet now he felt a strange understanding that his knowledge of Buddhism’s Six Greats might be comparable to those in the Bodhisattva Realm.

“But even so, against Tianshang Buddha, it’s still far from enough…”

Wang Ba sighed quietly in his heart, and this ripple of emotion seemed to stir something.

Suddenly, he was pulled away from the absolute emptiness of his previous state.
