Lord Of Doom!Reincarnated Into a Novel as the Strongest Side Character-Chapter 41: Do or die!
Chapter 41: Do or die!
Gojin walked through the first door and touched Sakura and Kenji on their still-healing fists. Instantly, the wounds accelerated in healing, closing up as if they had never existed. He commanded them to follow him back to Sensei’s abode.
Aiko, busy checking on the other children, glanced back and noticed they were gone. Huh? Where did they go? - she wondered, staring at the door with a curious gaze.
....
Upon arriving at the abode, they found Sensei seated on his usual spot on the first floor, his iron rod in hand.
"Keep it going! By the way, when did you change your blindfold, Gojin?" Sensei asked, his gaze fixed on Gojin’s new, enhanced blindfold.
"Beats me. I’ve been questioning him since we left the infirmary," Kenji muttered, rolling his eyes.
"He-he-he... I bought it from a local pawn shop while exploring the other villages while you two were in the infirmary," Gojin fabricated a convincing lie, dropping it like a landmine.
Sensei gestured for them to continue to the second floor to resume their struggle of breaking the stone wall with raw energy. Though he didn’t entirely believe Gojin’s story, he had no way to challenge it.
It was possible Gojin had bought the blindfold, but the hole in his lie was the claim that he purchased it; what money could he have used? They had arrived empty-handed and hadn’t even been there for three days. Besides, the money system here was different from the modern era.
Inside the technique-free room, Gojin quickly approached the stone wall with a grin.
[Current space has restricted use of techniques!]
[If the stone wall is broken by Host’s raw strength, a free book card will be rewarded]
[Book Cards are used in the Book tab to read the next Chapter, depending on the level of the card.]
[A Myth Card: Grants two paragraphs of the current Chapter.]
[Red Card: Grants six paragraphs of the next Chapter.]
[Genius Card: Grants the whole Chapter.]
[Note: Host can buy Chapters, although they cost a fortune: 100,000 DM for two paragraphs.]
Holy! Isn’t that enough for me to rank up? The Book tab is finally open, and I’m happy about that, along with the store. Knowing what will happen next is great, but the cost to buy a Chapter without waiting for a book card-which might be rare, as seen in most novels and webtoons - is steep. The system delays the helpful things. - Gojin thought.
How many Dm do I need to rank up?
[That’s a smart question: 100 million DM for the next rank up. Chances of earning this through missions are now sealed; only rewards will be given upon exorcises and destructions: 19% in 6 months, despite the doubling of rewards by 100x.]
"I knew it would get harder to rank up; it always does. At least I have no new restrictions on the use of my heavenly eyes and skills since the restrictions of the Eye of Reality were lifted years ago."
Gojin dismissed the system and focused on the wall. Sakura and Kenji had begun trying to break it, and this time, their hands weren’t getting bloodied even after seven attempts.
Gojin tightened his fist and launched a blow at the wall. Instantly, a deafening sound echoed through the room, and a slight crack appeared on the surface. Sakura and Kenji’s jaws dropped as they paused to stare at Gojin, who was preparing for another strike.
"I’m not satisfied with that outcome!" he shouted, punching the wall once more. The crack spread, and a small hole formed.
...
Meanwhile, Sensei, upstairs, wore a grin as he listened to the commotion. "I knew that kid could break it. Why was he hesitating?" he muttered.
...
Gojin struck the wall again, this time with intense force. The hole deepened and widened.
Without hesitation, he threw another punch, causing the wall to crack further and form a fist-sized crater. He then sped up his punches, his hands becoming a blur as he unleashed a flurry of devastating blows, each one deepening the crater.
Seconds later, the hole had grown so large that it could be mistaken for a rabbit hole big enough to fit nine grown rabbits.
"This is too small!" he muttered, launching another punch. The walls began to crack, and the crater expanded to a size that could accommodate a human.
About to throw another blow with even greater intensity, Sensei suddenly appeared in front of Gojin and caught the punch with one hand. A wild sound echoed, sending a sharp shockwave that made Kenji’s and Sakura’s hair stand on end as if shocked by electricity. The shockwave bounced off Sensei’s hand and slammed into the wall, deepening the damage. Kenji and Sakura trembled in fear, covering their faces with their hands, their eyes wide with shock and awe. Even Sensei was momentarily stunned.
Gojin grinned. "I guess I’m done here. So, what’s next for my training? Wait, how did you get in here using Ki tapping when this place is supposed to be technique-free?"
"First, nice talent. Second, I’ll explain that in the next session! My hands hurt—thank God they didn’t break," Sensei replied, wiggling his fingers to shake off the pain. It was a miracle he had managed to withstand that blow.
This was just Gojin’s raw strength; what would happen with his Ki-enhanced power?
Gojin chuckled lightly and approached Kenji and Sakura with a grin.
"Do or die," he muttered into their ears. Suddenly, their eyes glowed purple. They rushed to the wall and threw a punch, instantly cracking it and creating a crater. Sensei’s eyes widened in disbelief.
Gojin’s new heavenly ability, the Devouring Heavenly Eyes, could surprisingly be activated even through his blindfold, allowing him to enhance the strength of others, not just his own. He had received a manual with it, so he understood its capabilities well, including its 100x enhancement. It also allowed him to command others with a simple directive.
As Kenji and Sakura returned to normal, they were confused about why they were facing the wall. They looked up to see the crack, while Sensei’s jaw hung open in astonishment.
"Interesting, his potential can’t be measured at this point." Kurozai sneered, deep within Kenji’s mind.
