Love Command: Darling, Do You Yield?-Chapter 105 - 106: I promised her that I would bring her back today
Brandan Hyde at this point no longer has the mood to confront him. Last night, there was heavy rain here, and the further into the mountains they went, the muddier the roads got. The traces left by those people ended completely here.
No wonder William Moore stayed here.
Brandan raised his head to look ahead; lush trees blocked the sunlight and his view, making it impossible to discern the direction as everything looked the same.
A bodyguard walked over: "Young Hyde, moving further ahead might be dangerous. We’re already far from the mountain road entrance. Let’s wait for the rescue team to arrive before proceeding."
"..."
Brandan pressed his lips together. His ink-dark eyes were cold, making it difficult to read his emotions.
After a moment, he turned around and called out to Lady Hyde.
"Mom."
Lady Hyde had been walking for a while and was already tired. At this moment, she was resting against a large tree. Hearing Brandan’s voice, she opened her eyes to look at him.
"You should go back first," Brandan said. "If we continue, I might not be able to take care of you."
Lady Hyde widened her eyes slightly but reacted quickly. She had heard the bodyguard’s words. Brandan meant for her to turn back while he continued into the woods to find Iris Harris.
"No."
Lady Hyde shook her head, "It’s too dangerous. The rescue team will arrive soon, we..."
"It might be tomorrow before they get here," Brandan said softly, "I must find her... I promised her I’d bring her back today."
At these words, Lady Hyde froze slightly. She raised her eyes to look at her son. Brandan’s eyes were dark, lacking any brightness, quite unlike how they usually appeared.
Her heart sank softly. Lady Hyde walked over and grabbed Brandan’s hand. His fingers were very cold, as if afraid of the cold, without a trace of warmth.
She felt a bit sad, knowing Brandan already regretted it. But what could be done? The event had occurred, and no one could travel through time to revert its course.
"Mom won’t go back." Lady Hyde shook her head, having only this one son. If something happened to him, she wouldn’t want to live anymore, "Mom will search with you."
Brandan’s brow furrowed slightly. He knew Lady Hyde had long been accustomed to luxury, her physical strength poor. Reaching here was likely her limit, and continuing the search might make even exiting difficult. Moreover, Lady Hyde’s health might not hold up much longer.
"Mom," Brandan looked at her disapprovingly, "You cannot go further inside."
"I said, I want to personally bring Iris back." Lady Hyde’s eyes were slightly red, "Whether she’s dead or alive, I must find her!"
She rarely insisted so stubbornly. Hearing her words, Brandan said no more. He turned his head to look at William Moore resting against the tree trunk nearby. 𝙛𝒓𝒆𝙚𝒘𝒆𝓫𝙣𝓸𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝒄𝒐𝓶
He was smoking, the blue-white smoke swirling around his ethereal face. It would be hard to associate this man with the worldly item of cigarettes just by looking at this face. However, William Moore’s demeanor complemented cigarettes well, as if he suited them naturally.
Brandan walked over, standing in front of William Moore, looking at him, he said, "Let’s team up."
Neither brought many people.
Because no one expected this to happen.
Even William Moore didn’t expect it.
