Love Command: Darling, Do You Yield?-Chapter 180 - 181: Farewell Approaching 2
Those were things even more excessive than physical abuse.
Brandan turned around, brought a chair over, and sat in front of Iris Harris.
Iris had originally thought he would be so angry he’d leave, but to her surprise, Brandan actually brought over a chair to sit in front of her, lifting his eyes and watching her unblinkingly.
Iris had intended to ignore him, but with a man staring at her like that, how could she?
She couldn’t bear it any longer, closed the book of poems she was reading, and glared at him.
"Are you done yet?"
"What did I do this time?" Brandan looked at her somewhat confused.
Seeing his innocent look, Iris got even angrier, "Can you not be in front of me?"
"Then just don’t look at me."
"Who said I was looking at you?!"
"..."
Watching Brandan’s speechless expression, Iris was even more furious. She turned away, pulled the covers over her head, and planned to sleep.
Ever since she woke up from her coma these days, Brandan hadn’t come to her, and she enjoyed the peace. She didn’t expect him to bother her in the middle of the night!
Iris thought angrily.
Does this guy even realize she’s a patient?
The room gradually quieted down.
Iris knew he hadn’t left; she couldn’t sleep with him there.
It was stuffy under the covers. After a while, she pulled them back and turned to glare at him.
Brandan was still sitting in the chair, and when she was under the covers, he seemed to be watching her the entire time. When she turned her head, it seemed to catch him off guard, and his eyes were filled with unorganized emotions, looking somewhat embarrassed.
Iris glimpsed into his eyes and was slightly stunned.
Brandan had a pair of pitch-black eyes. Many Eastern people’s eyes have shades of brown, but his were purely black, which made the sadness in his eyes appear very heavy.
He gazed at her, but his eyes were filled with sorrow.
When she turned to face him, although he lowered his head, the fleeting emotion was caught by her.
"You..."
Iris opened her mouth slightly. She wanted to say something, wanted to ask him what was wrong, but felt there was no need to ask him these things now.
What was wrong with Brandan had nothing to do with her.
She wouldn’t live much longer anyway.
Iris lowered her eyes, thinking quietly, and then said, "That day, why did you jump down?"
"When someone jumps into the sea in front of me, how can I stand by and watch?" Brandan said flatly.
"Just because of that?"
"..."
Brandan was silent for a moment. He lifted his eyes slowly to look at her, then asked, "If I said it was because I liked you and couldn’t help myself, what would you do?"
"......"
Iris was slightly stunned. She looked at Brandan and then withdrew her gaze.
"It’s too late for words like these."
"You’re right."
Brandan nodded slightly and went silent again. His gaze fell on her but seemed distant.
He looked weighed down with worries.
Iris turned to look at the wall in front of her.
The wind and waves were strong that day.
When she jumped, she hadn’t planned on coming back alive.
Lady Hyde said it was Brandan who saved her.
She actually felt it too.
In her dazed state, she felt someone desperately clinging to her, pulling her from the sea onto the shore, like a dream, overlapping with what had happened ten years ago.
He could have died.
He shouldn’t have saved her.
Iris bit her lip lightly, her heart swelling with unspeakable feelings, only feeling bitter and astringent.
