Chapter 713: An Embroided Silk

"They are both very spirited," said Princess Zohra, which was answered by Princess Bertha with a nod of her head.

"They are still young. Of course, they’re still very intimate with each other. Oh, Princess Zohra, did Thomas treat you well last night?" Princess Bertha asked her colleague.

"Oh, when the King and Queen of Northendell visit Thebis, I hope you can lend me Thomas, Princess."

"Of course, of course... I will manage it."

Princess Zohra smiled, then glanced at the library door.

"They are both interesting people... I hope I really get to see the land on Thebis bloom with green plants and lustrous flowers again before I take my last breath," she muttered.

"Princess Zohra, I should be the one speaking like that. Look at me... I’m not sure I’ll ever see the sun again. I’m already very old."

"Good grief... you and Miss Dressrosa are eternally young souls. I wish I could be like you. That’s why I never got married, so I could live a long life like you," said Princess Zohra, making Princess Bertha smile broadly.

"I will take your words as a compliment."

"Of course ... that’s a compliment, Princess," Princess Zohra replied genuinely, and Princess Bertha laughed out loud.

Arielle and Ronan did not return to their room. The two of them visited Irene to ask about the child’s day first. It turned out that Irene was learning embroidery with Aimee who was accompanied by her brother, Kael.

"Arielle!" greeted Irene with a smile.

Arielle, who saw Irene’s good mood, also smiled broadly. "Hi, Irene. Something good happened? You look very happy."

"Yeah.. look at this... I can do embroidery!"

Arielle sat on a couch beside Irene. Irene then put her embroidery on her lap so she could see and judge.

"Whaaa ... this is a very adorable black cat," exclaimed Arielle while looking at the picture of a black cat on the white cloth she was holding.

"Cat? I-I was trying to make a wolf..."

Arielle covered her mouth in puzzlement. She looked at the embroidery Irene had made once more. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝚠𝚎𝚋𝗻𝗼𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝚘𝐦

"Oh, s-sorry. I think my eyes are a little blurry... Th-the wolf looks very – um..." Arielle tried to find a proper vocabulary that wouldn’t make Irene sad.

"Dashing," said Ronan, who was now sitting beside Arielle to see his sister’s embroidery.

"Yeah, this wolf looks very dashing," Arielle refuted, finishing her previous sentence.

"Is it really like that?" asked Irene and Arielle immediately nodded.

Aimee refrained from laughing upon seeing Arielle’s surprised face turned nervous. Kael also raised the corners of his lips to form a faint smile.

"You really are talented, Irene. Did Aimee teach you?" asked Arielle.

"Yeah, Miss Dressrosa also visited before she went back. She brought a set of embroidery. Miss Aimee said she wanted to borrow it because she wanted to spend her free time here, and Miss Dressrosa allowed it. She also taught me how to embroider. Actually, Miss Aimee made the line for me. I just have to fill in the color," said Irene who looked enthusiastic.

"Still, it is very beautiful and neat. I don’t even know how to do embroidery," Arielle answered honestly.

Tania might know how to do embroidery or knit, but Arielle had never asked to be taught that skill. She only knew how to sew torn parts of clothes. She was never taught to beautify something. She was just taught to fix things.

"Do you also want one? I plan to give this to my father. If you want one, what picture do you want?" Irene asked Arielle with sparkling eyes.

"Me? Um... how about a picture of a snowdrop? Can you make it for me?" asked Arielle.

"Oh, I can make the line and Irene can continue it, right?" asked Aimee and Irene nodded in agreement.

"Then, I will also make you one. You can wait until dinner, Arielle."

"I’m really looking forward to it," replied Arielle, making Aimee smile broadly.

"What about me?" Ronan, who had just been listening silently, chimed in.

Irene had just realized that her brother was also there all along. She was too enthusiastic and impatient to show her embroidery to Arielle that she forgot that the man also came with the queen.

"Ah..." Irene didn’t know what to say.

She did not know whether the result of her embroidery was worthy of being given to a king. She was just learning it a few hours ago and honestly, she knew that she still made many mistakes. The embroidery was also crude, and there were still some parts that weren’t attached perfectly.

"But... I’m not sure if my embroidery is worthy of being given to you, Your Majesty," Irene said as she held the cloth in her hands a bit tighter.

"Of course, your brother will accept whatever you will give, Irene. You can make him a picture of an adorable cat. He will really like it," said Arielle, and Ronan nodded in agreement.

"Is it true? Um... then I’ll try my best. But... It may take some time because I want to make one for Arielle first. Is it okay?" Irene asked hesitantly.

Usually, people were obliged to put the king’s interests first. However, Irene and Arielle were special people for Ronan, so he just nodded. When he was with Arielle, he would position himself as a husband.

Likewise with Irene. He would position himself as an older brother, not a king who had to always be prioritized by everyone.

"Take your time. I will wait patiently. There’s no need to rush because I’ll accept whatever you make for me," Ronan said gently, making Irene smile broadly.

Aimee then drew a snowdrop shape on the end of a cloth. The shape was quite small. Aimee asked Irene if she was ready for a new challenge, and the girl nodded excitedly. Aimee also drew a bunch of snowdrop flowers in other parts.

Arielle once showed it to Aimee, and the woman drew it on the cloth very beautifully. After making the pattern, Aimee handed the cloth over to Irene to continue. Arielle and Ronan noticed Irene’s skillful hand movements.

Not to mention, Aimee gave input at every chance, teaching Irene with passion.
