Loving The Cursed Werewolf King-Chapter 725: Naval Base Area
Everyone had sat down in their seats in the dining hall. They glanced at the completely inseparable presence of the king and queen. Aimee frowned upon seeing Arielle who looked exhausted as if she had wiped the entire floors of a huge castle.
Even though the girl smiled, it couldn’t brush off the traces of dark circles under her eyes. Arielle didn’t look fresh at all. Furthermore, the way she walked also looked a little wobbly.
Did Queen Arielle just fall? Aimee also heard the maids from the palace talking about Ronan who had scolded the servants last night. It was possible that last night, Arielle was injured, causing the man to panic. But, why didn’t he call her?
Aimee could help treat Arielle if she was asked to.
After the king and queen joined to sit down in their seats, Princess Bertha asked her servants to serve breakfast immediately. Ronan asked for another stamina potion for his wife.
"You look exhausted, Arielle. Are you okay?" asked Princess Bertha who also could see how exhausted and lethargic Arielle was.
Everyone at the table then turned in the same direction. Arielle was a little nervous about answering it.
"I am fine. Just a little lack of sleep."
Ronan had cut the steak into some pieces, then swapped it with Arielle’s plate, so the girl just needed to eat it without troubling herself by cutting it.
"Eat. We have to move quickly so that Lazarus doesn’t wait in a cold place alone for too long," Ronan said, making Princess Bertha smile.
Ronan knew that Arielle wasn’t comfortable being asked about last night’s matters. So he had to step forward to stop anyone from asking further. Grandmother Bertha was a member of the royal family, so she must have thought she had the right to know what Arielle was up to last night. Even though she knew that Arielle was the queen of this kingdom who had to be respected.
In the palace, if Arielle said everything was fine, then everyone would respect it and wouldn’t ask further. However, here, his grandmother would definitely be provoked to ask more detailed questions.
The breakfast was finished more quickly. Ronan then asked Princess Bertha’s permission to immediately leave for their final destination. In front of the main door, there was already a carriage that Ronan had specially prepared for Arielle. Aimee, Irene, as well as the priest would ride the carriage they had used before.
"Arielle needs time to rest, so I’m going to give her some space alone. Are you okay with that?" Ronan asked Aimee and Irene.
"Is Arielle sick?" asked Irene innocently.
"No, Arielle is fine, but she lacked sleep because she studied all night. That’s why I want to give her a space to rest alone," Ronan answered, making Irene nod lightly.
"I hope Arielle can get better after resting well."
"Of course."
Ronan then helped Arielle to get on the carriage that he had specially prepared.
"Where did you get this carriage?" Arielle asked curiously then sat comfortably in her place.
Ronan told Arielle to lie down on the seat and gave her a warm and thick blanket, as well as a pillow that he had taken from his great-grandmother’s residence.
"I borrowed Grandma’s carriage. We’ll return it when we come back later. Now rest well. Everyone is worried about you."
Arielle pouted her lips. "Who do you think that has made me like this?" she asked, pretending to be annoyed.
Ronan kissed his wife gently and lovingly.
"Of course it’s me. Who else?" Ronan replied proudly.
After making sure Arielle was comfortably lying in her place, Ronan got down from the carriage again. He directed everyone to get ready immediately. William rode his horse to the rearguard again. He looked more fresh now. The trace of his hangover was gradually gone due to the potion given by Grandmother Bertha.
Ronan pulled the reins of his horse slowly and left Grandmother Bertha’s residence. Exclusively for Ronan, he was given permission to return and visit the residence again with the condition that he gave at least one day’s notice. Grandmother Bertha had warned him that if the man came so suddenly without giving prior notice, then she would never open the gate again.
Grandmother Bertha needed time to prepare her residence to make it more suitable for the public to visit. After the gate was closed and the wooden bridge was lifted, she then sent invitations to the other women and brought back the atmosphere of her residence as before.
On the way, Arielle slept so soundly. Several times the carriage swayed due to the rocky road, but it didn’t wake her up at all. Ronan rode his horse to the front. He joined in with the other knights to make sure that his wife was well rested, but he had to be on the front to make sure the journey was safe and sound.
Ronan knew he could trust Kael that guarded the front, as well as William who kept an eye on behind, but they were about to enter the harbour area where people from various kingdoms and even from various continents visited to go to Northendell.
However, they wouldn’t go to the harbour used by the citizens. They would go directly to the naval base, where all the activities of the marine military forces were located. They would stay in Lazarus’ official residence during their visit there.
It took more than twelve hours to get to their destination, and Arielle hadn’t woken up yet since this afternoon. Even when they stopped to meet Lazarus on the way and Ronan checked on her, his wife was still sleeping soundly.
Arielle woke up when they passed the hustle and bustle of a city. They passed through the city near the harbour. She quickly wanted to see the sea, but she couldn’t because it was blocked by trees and local residents’ houses.
Finally, they arrived at the Northendell naval base area, which was thirty minutes to the north of the harbour in the city they passed earlier.
Upon seeing Ronan as well as Lazarus, the troops immediately straightened up to salute the entourage of the king and queen who had just arrived. The gate, which was much taller than the palace gate, opened slowly. Arielle had never seen anything like this before, so when she peeked through the window, she couldn’t hide her admiration.
