Chapter 749: Saved By A Mysterious Man

"Your Majesty... I beg you! Please save my son! He is the only family I have! He died from hypothermia! Revive him! I beg you, Your Majesty!"

Kael pulled the old woman’s shoulders to get up. The two guards immediately surrounded Arielle.

Everyone pointed at Arielle, wondering if the rumors spreading around them were true.

"Your Majesty....! I can’t live without my son! I still have the body! Revive him, Your Majesty! If you can exchange it with my life, I will do it! Do as you did to the people of Birwick Village back then!!! I beg you!!!"

"S-sorry, I don’t understand..."

"Your Majesty! Is it true that you can bring back the dead? Your Majesty, please save my husband too! I beg you, Your Majesty..."

"No! Me first, Your Majesty! My wife is pregnant with our first child! Please revive my wife and child!"

"Your Majesty, help me!"

"I, Your Majesty...! I’m going to die. Heal me!"

"Move all of you!" Kael shouted sternly while pushing the crowd that surrounded Arielle away.

GRAB!

A strange man grabbed Arielle’s hand. A guard threatened the man with a sword. If he didn’t let go of Queen Arielle, then he would be sentenced to death in place.

"A queen is the servant of her people! She cannot be partial! If the people of Birwick are saved, then we must be saved too! We also are Northendell people!"

Numerous shouts and screams made Arielle more panicked. Her breath was getting heavy, while her heart was pounding really fast. Where did all the air go? Why did it feel like it was so hard to breathe? Arielle began to have panic attacks and hyperventilate.

Kael held Arielle’s body from falling to the ground. When a mysterious man in a coat suddenly pulled Arielle’s hand from a man who tried to drag her until he fell to the ground, all the commotion immediately stopped.

The mysterious man held Arielle’s hand, and subconsciously, Arielle also pulled Kael’s hand to join her in running through the crowd. Two guards briskly opened up a way for three of them.

Arielle wanted to help them, but her body kept forcing her to run away. She kept running until they arrived at a quieter forest. Arielle fell into the snow because she couldn’t hold her legs any longer. Kael quickly held the queen’s body to remain seated.

"Your Majesty... are you all right?" Kael asked worriedly.

Arielle tried to calm her breathing. She nodded and asked Kael to stay with her for a while.

Arielle still couldn’t speak because of the shock. If only the mysterious man didn’t help her to escape, perhaps Kael would have pulled out his sword and spilled some blood as a warning.

Kael remembered the warning of the old man in the painting shop earlier. The man clearly forbade them from stopping by another shop and told them to take a detour.

"Sir, thank you for your help. If I may ask, why are you helping us?" asked Arielle while holding the hand of the man who had his back to her.

The man tried to release his hand from Arielle’s grip. Arielle and Kael glanced at one of the man’s hands. Was the man one of the victims of the cold of winter? Did his hand have frostbite, so it had to be amputated? Was that man helping Arielle because he wanted to use her alone?

Kael quickly stood with his sword drawn.

"I just want to help," the man replied simply.

Arielle frowned. The man’s voice sounded quite familiar, but it somehow felt different. She wanted to say thank you, but the man had run away from her and Kael. The two guards who had kept the crowd at bay had returned with their horses.

Kael motioned for the two of them to let go of the mysterious man who helped them this morning.

"Your Majesty, are you able to ride your horse again?"

"Yeah, I think... I have calmed down now," Arielle replied quietly.

Kael helped Arielle get on her horse. The four returned safely to the front gate of the naval base.

The moment Arielle got down from his horse, Ronan ran down the steps at a hasty pace.

Seeing his wife arriving, the man momentarily stopped in his tracks. He was very surprised that after he finished the meeting full of complaints earlier, he couldn’t find his wife at home. Likewise Aimee, Irene, Kael, and even Lazarus.

Ronan wanted to look for Arielle, but his wife arrived right before he was going. He came closer, and an exhausted Arielle held her husband’s hand. He also held the girl’s body so she wouldn’t fall.

"Arielle? What happened? Why are you looking like this? Is everything alright?"

"Your Majesty, I wish to deliver a report," said Kael with a stiff voice.

It looked like something had happened to Arielle. Ronan carried Arielle easily and climbed back up the stairs to return to Lazarus’ official residence. He quickly placed the girl on the bed and took off her shoes and coat. His wife was sweating as if she had run with great difficulty.

"Ronan..." called Arielle who was in a semi-conscious state.

"Arielle, are you awake now? What happened to you?"

Arielle gripped her husband’s sleeve tightly.

"Stay by my side for a bit. It’s scary," the girl said weakly. It sounded more like a plea.

Ronan then told Kael to wait a moment. He had to accompany his wife first, so she could calm down and rest well. Arielle kept clutching his arm until she fell asleep. After making sure the girl was sleeping soundly, Ronan followed Kael to interrogate the man.

"What happened? Why does my wife look terrified?"

"Rumors from Birwick Village have been leaked. Someone who recognized Her Majesty the Queen forced the queen to revive her son in the crowd, and it didn’t take long for the crowd to demand the same thing from the queen. The queen had a panic attack, and we had a hard time escaping."

Ronan massaged his temples. Birwick Village ... due to the landslide, Arielle’s power had woken up. The news was also reported by the duke just now. As a result, the cold temperatures caused many casualties. Bringing the dead back to life... that wasn’t something that should be done.

"Tell me in more detail. Why are you going outside without my permission, and how are you able to escape with only two guards?" Ronan asked sternly.
