Chapter 43: Chapter 43: Unreasonable

Dela Cruz blinked for a moment, trying to process the chain of logic.

Jeff remained steady, his eyes were clear as the day.

"So what will happen if the hash doesn’t match?" he asked.

"Well, if it doesn’t match, nothing will happen. The system won’t even respond. To anyone else, it just looks like the app is frozen," Jeff answered.

"But with the correct phrase, the system returns a unique code that can be cross-verified with my private signature database," he clarified.

"It’s mathematically impossible to fake. You can decompile, edit, or repackage the app, but unless you know the internal salt and my phrase, you can’t generate the matching hash."

Dela Cruz stared at him, eyes wide now, "You seriously thought of everything, huh? I thought I was going to teach you something, but that doesn’t seem to be the case. Haha," he laughed at the end.

Jeff, seeing this, gave the faintest smile, "Well, it is always good to prepare for thieves, sir," he replied.

After everything was completed, the console finally displayed the output.

[Verification Successful!]

...

"Well, that’s amazing. Everything is perfectly secured. You really are a monster," Dela Cruz praised.

"But you know, my arms have been itching for a battle. It’s been a long time since I’ve put them to good use. What do you say? Want to give it a try?" Dela Cruz uttered, the fighting spirit burning in his eyes.

Jeff, upon hearing this, felt a surge of excitement.

He had always wanted to experience the kind of duels he saw on television and read about in novels where programmers battled using their wits and skill.

In his first life, however, his knowledge or rather, his programming skills had been painfully lacking. In a cruel term it’s so low, utterly low.

He could only program basic things like simple websites, and it’s not the advanced kind.

It was mostly just changing background colors, adjusting text fonts, adding movement, and applying effects.

As for building a real, functional website? He couldn’t do that. But now?

If he wanted to, he could create a website generator capable of producing full websites automatically.

"Teacher, this is really an honor for me, but I think it’s just bad timing. Exams are coming up, and I also have classes, so maybe next time," Jeff responded.

He truly wanted to compete, but he held himself back, knowing the timing wasn’t right. It wasn’t because he was afraid of losing.

Rather, he was afraid of making his teacher lose face, so choosing not to accept the duel was the wiser decision.

Dela Cruz, upon hearing this, felt a bit disappointed but accepted it.

He had genuinely wanted to exchange ideas and experience, which was why he had proposed the duel in the first place.

"Well then, that’s all for now. You can go back and continue your lesson," Dela Cruz said as he dismissed him.

Jeff nodded in response and took his leave.

After Jeff left, Dela Cruz looked at the code and sighed once again. This was the first time his composed character had been broken.

He was supposed to be the serious and reserved type.

Yet now, it had been broken multiple times, "So this is the difference between talent and hard work," Dela Cruz muttered as he continued studying the code, determined to expand his knowledge.

As he walked back and climbed the stairs, he glanced upward. When he did, he saw something he was never meant to see.

Beneath the skirt above him, he caught a glimpse of a pink fabric, leaving him momentarily dazed.

Suddenly, a hand grabbed the edge of the skirt, and a face peered down at him.

Her eyes were glaring with a fiery intensity, staring at him as if she wanted to skin him alive. Seeing the look of utter disgust he was receiving, he froze in place.

He turned around with a red face, wanting to escape, but he was stopped by a cold voice.

"Hold it right there," it said.

He froze in place, standing stiffly without daring to move.

"Escaping after being caught in the act? You pervert really have some nerve," the cold voice continued, making his legs tremble.

"What? Too scared to look back?" she shouted at him, her voice filled with icy anger.

Jeff had no choice but to slowly turn around, and what he saw made him freeze on the spot.

It was a girl in a school uniform, her long black hair flowing like shadowed silk and her violet eyes piercing through him with an emotionless chill.

She was the very image of a cold beauty, elegant, sharp, and untouchable.

He did not know why, but in his mind he compared her to Ariana. Comparing the two was like comparing the sun and the moon.

One was bright, while the other was dark. Just meeting those piercing violet eyes made him shudder.

"Ahh, fellow student, it was just an accident. I did not know there was anyone up there," Jeff explained quickly.

Seeing his appearance, the girl praised him inwardly, noting that he was not bad looking.

However, that small good impression was quickly replaced by immense hatred as she remembered what he had just done.

"Don’t act like a fool. Do you think I am that easy to deceive? If you were not guilty, then why did you try to run away?" she said sharply, crossing her arms, causing her large chest to push forward.

Of course, Jeff did not look at it, as his mind worked frantically to find the right words to say, but nothing came out.

Rather than any clever excuse, only programming terms seemed to pop into his mind, leaving him speechless.

"This... this... it was really just an accident, it’s like this..." he stammered, trying to explain.

"What, you cannot explain it properly now? You pervert, you better follow me so we can go and I can report you to the principal," she said, her tone even colder than before.

"What the? Wasn’t I about to explain? I was only trying to climb the stairs, so why am I being forced to go to the principal’s office?" Jeff muttered, feeling his patience snap as the situation grew more unreasonable.

She let out a cold laugh, her eyes sharp as blades, "Listen? After catching you mid-peek, you want sympathy?"

She stepped closer, her voice was low and biting, "If I let every excuse slide, creeps like you would start thinking it’s normal."

Being called a creep by this unreasonable woman naturally made Jeff furious, especially since all he had wanted was to climb the stairs without any trouble.

His hands clenched into fists as he struggled to hold back the anger rising in his chest, knowing that no matter what he said, she had already branded him guilty.

"Classmate, can you at least listen to me?" Jeff said in a pleading tone.

The girl sneered and snapped back, "Listen to a pervert like you? I’d rather listen to a barking dog."

Hearing this, Jeff’s face twisted with anger, feeling the last of his patience break.

"You, woman, do not think you are so beautiful that every man wants to peek at you," Jeff said sharply, glaring back at her.

He scoffed as he fought back, "Get over yourself. Not everything in this world revolves around your thighs."

Hearing this, she narrowed her eyes, her voice colder than ice, while her face burned red with shame.

"Oh? Then maybe you should keep your eyes on the stairs instead of stuttering like a guilty mutt," she snapped.

She crossed her arms even tighter, causing her large chest to stand out even more, while she gnashed her teeth.

"If you were not staring, then why do you look so shaken?" she demanded fiercely.

Hearing this, Jeff realized he had nothing left to argue.

Fighting with a girl would never lead anywhere, so he decided to climb the other set of stairs on the opposite side of the building.

Seeing him turn his back, the girl grew even angrier and rushed toward him.

"Where do you think you’re goi... AHhh!" she exclaimed loudly as she slipped and fell down the stairs.

Hearing the sudden shout, Jeff looked back and saw the girl falling, her face pale with fear.

Jeff, who lost his balance while trying to catch her, also fell to the ground with his hands stretched out instinctively.

As they both crashed onto the floor, the girl, feeling dizzy, sat up and realized she was sitting on the pervert’s abdomen.

At that moment, she felt something firmly pressing and groping her chest. When she opened her eyes, she saw a hand, and it was undeniably the pervert’s hand.

Her face turned crimson, and her eyes seemed to burn with blood-red fury. This time, she was truly enraged and ready to strike.

"You pervert! I’ll kill you!" she screamed as she launched herself at Jeff, who was still sprawled helplessly on the ground.
