Madam Wants To Divorce Her Second Husband-Chapter 109
Chapter 109: Chapter 109
Ba-dump!
Winter’s heartbeat accelerated instantly. She could feel his warm and moist lips kissing her fingers like a devoted knight making his vow to his princess.
She preferred to think that Sebastian was just trying to soften her heart, so he could manipulate her, but the sincerity in his eyes was too apparent for her to ignore.
In the end, she just averted her gaze and tried to pull her hand, "L-let go, Sebastian."
"I’m not letting go until you promise not to leave me."
"F-fine, I’m not leaving unless you hurt me, or cheat on me!" Winter said as she tried to yank her hand as hard as possible.
Sebastian finally let go after he got the answer that he wanted. He smiled with satisfaction, "I will never hurt or cheat on you, Winter Saenz. I promise."
Ding!
The elevator door opened behind Sebastian’s back, and the man slowly intertwined their fingers to hold each other’s hands.
His movement was smooth and gentle as if he trusted that Winter wouldn’t reject him anymore.
And he was right.
Winter didn’t reject him. She was just a little jumpy, feeling shy because it had been a while since she had a real intimacy with Sebastian.
They stepped out of the elevator together, looking so harmonious, and stopped right in front of the secretary’s desk, where Iris and Cindy were sitting together, busy with their work. They had to handle the documentation of the big project with Lucien LeBlanc’s company.
Sebastian and Winter could see two distinctively different reactions coming from Cindy and Iris.
Iris’ face brightened when she saw how sweet and intimate the newlyweds looked, she even praised them with a little joke, "Well, well, you two look so inseparable. Do we need to install soundproofing in the CEO’s office?"
Winter’s already red cheeks turned even redder as she shook her head, "S-stop being ridiculous, Iris. We are not that promiscuous."
"What’s wrong with being promiscuous? You two are newlyweds! It’s okay to indulge a bit, right, boss?"
"Right," Sebastian agreed with a perverted grin.
Iris glanced at Cindy who was scowling. She didn’t even try to hide her displeasure—or perhaps, she just couldn’t hide it because she was burning with jealousy.
Thus, Iris nudged Cindy’s arm with her elbow and asked, "What do you think, Cindy? They look so good together, right? You should be glad that your sister and brother-in-law have a good relationship."
"Hm..." Cindy nodded, but she quickly focused on the computer screen in front of her as a way to distract herself. She was green with envy right now, but she couldn’t do anything except curse Winter in her heart.
Winter wasn’t in the mood to play with Cindy, so she dismissed the conversation by saying, "We are going to be busy with the project. Bring me the documents sent by Lucien’s secretary. I want to see how the budgeting will work."
"Certainly, Madam," Iris said as she took over the computer from Cindy.
Then, Sebastian and Winter entered the CEO’s office, ignoring Cindy who sulked.
Cindy stared at the documents that Iris prepared for printing, and she couldn’t help but feel even more bitter.
’Sebastian is an idiot,’ Cindy said in her heart. ’How could he look so stupidly in love with Winter? What’s so good about her? Is it because she’s old and barren? Is this some kind of fetish that I don’t know?’
As much as she fumed about her current situation, she couldn’t do much about it. She had to wait until Madam Camilla instructed her to do something.
**
Camilla returned to the receptionist desk with a face so dark, Isabella thought this woman would kill her on the spot.
"M-Madam, is there something wrong? Do you need me to do something?"
Camilla wasn’t in the mood to fake a smile. She directly asked, "Do you know where Winter’s bodyguard usually stays while she’s in the office?"
"Ah-uhm..." Isabella tried to recall the handsome bodyguard who usually picked Madam Winter up in the lobby. He was rugged, with brooding eyes similar to a hawk.
Isabella had a thing for a military man, but that man seemed steadfast and cold as if nothing could move him.
The only time that man named Arthur showed his smile was when he saw Madam Winter, which was quite hurtful for Isabella. She felt that Madam Winter got too much attention from so many men.
’Well, can’t really blame her though. She IS gorgeous...’
"Isabella."
"Y-yes, Madam!" Isabella straightened her back and then replied, "From what I know, he’d usually have a coffee or lunch in the office canteen. I saw him a few times there, but he doesn’t look kind, so I don’t dare to approach him."
"And why do you need to approach him anyway?" Camilla asked, full of suspicion.
"I-I have a little crush on him, Madam..." Isabella replied meekly. "But he doesn’t smile at all. He only shows a little kindness around Madam Winter."
Camilla crossed her arms as she scoffed, "Obviously. What did I expect anyway? That woman certainly has her way of bewitching men."
Isabella sensed an overwhelming amount of hatred coming from Madam Camilla, and she dared not question why.
Honestly, she still didn’t understand why Madam Camilla hated her daughter-in-law so much. Madam Winter was beautiful and kind. Everybody in the office seemed to like her, though they also feared her since she had so much power in her hand.
’Shouldn’t she be happy to have a capable daughter-in-law? I heard from gossip that Madam Winter is active in the finance department, working together with the head of finance to make sure the budgeting went smoothly. So, what’s the reason to hate her?’
Isabella didn’t have much to say. She felt guilty for giving so much information to Madam Camilla, but she had to do it for her father’s safety.
"So, Arthur is probably in the office canteen right now, huh?"
"Or in the basement parking lot, Madam. I heard from the security guard that he always stays near his car and waits for Madam Winter."
