Madam Wants To Divorce Her Second Husband-Chapter 114
Chapter 114: Chapter 114
Isabella lowered her head and then replied, "She didn’t pay me anything, Madam. My dad was ill, and he needed a lot of money. We can’t borrow from the bank anymore, that’s why we turn to a loan shark."
"So, you’re working for her just to pay back all the debts you have?"
"Well, the interests..." Isabella replied dejectedly. "That loan shark keeps increasing the interest and I’m forever stuck working as her henchman since I can’t pay it back with only my salary."
"I see..."
Truthfully, Winter was ready to go nuclear on her. She was expecting her to keep denying it until she was forced to admit that she was Camilla’s filthy mole.
But now that she understood Isabella’s position, she realized that Camilla’s method was far more devious than what she had expected.
’That old woman really went as far as trapping these helpless people in an endless debt to work as her henchmen,’ Winter thought. She stared at the dejected young lady for a while and said, "I will get you out of that debt completely."
Isabella lifted her head instantly.
She stared at Madam Winter with a shock, and also a hopeful gaze, "R-really? But, Madam, my debt is too much to pay back."
"The amount doesn’t matter to me," Winter replied. "I just want you to leave this place because you’re not supposed to be here."
"Then, I will do anything if that means I can get my freedom, Madam!"
"Good girl, it seems that you understand your situation,"
Winter smiled thin. "I will pay back all of your debts with interest, but in exchange, you should resign from the office immediately, and book a plane ticket across the country. I don’t care where you would go, as long as it’s far away from New York."
"Oh, you should also cut contact with Camilla entirely, so she won’t be able to track you," Winter added. She lowered her car window and called Arthur who was standing on guard outside. "Make a check for this girl, give her... fifty-five thousand."
"Fifty-five thousand?!" Isabella’s eyes almost popped out of its socket. It was basically her annual salary before tax. Of course, she would be more than happy to get that much money without doing anything, but she felt so bad right now because she had been a mole for Madam Camilla for so long. "M-Madam, what is the money for?"
"It’s for you to start anew in another state. Surely, you need it before you find another job."
Isabella was holding back her tears, "Thank you so much, Madam. This means a lot to me."
"I’m not doing this for free, you know. I’ll pay your debts, so if you want to accept this one, you need to do one thing for me."
"What is it, Madam? I’m ready to do anything to be useful!" Isabella vowed.
Winter knew that her mother-in-law had full knowledge of everything running in her company because of these moles, so the best way to do it was to get rid of all the moles before making her next move to take her down.
Thus, she replied, "I want you to identify every single mole in my company. I want to free them all from that loan shark debt."
"T-that’s..." Isabella was hesitant at first. She knew all of the moles because they disclosed each other’s identity because of camaraderie.
But would they be lucky enough to get the same treatment as she was? Truly, no matter how rich Madam Winter is, she shouldn’t be rich enough to pay off everyone’s debt to a loan shark, right?
"Don’t worry about them. I will make sure to compensate them equally," Winter said.
"T-then, I guess there’s nothing wrong with telling you everything, Madam..."
Thus, Isabella listed everyone who directly worked for Camilla. Winter was surprised there were more than ten people inside her company, who worked in various important positions, from clerical work such as receptionist, down to someone who works in finance.
’No wonder Camilla knows everything about my previous life. Turns out she has so many informants here,’ Winter thought. She let Isabella off and waited until the young woman entered the elevator to finally tell Arthur, "I’ve sent you the list of everyone who works for Camilla, make sure to interrogate them and pay all of their debts. I want them gone immediately."
Arthur checked on her from the rearview mirror and asked, "Is it really okay to make a swift move like this, Madam? Camilla might notice it."
"That’s the point," Winter said. "I can’t beat around the bush anymore. I think it’s better to sweep everyone out and make her delirious, so we can disturb whatever plan she has for."
"But what about the real threat, Madam?" Arthur asked. "Your husband," he said in a mocking tone.
"I can handle him just fine, or so I thought. We’ll see what I can do to him later," Winter replied. "Besides, you seem to have something in mind, Arthur. Do you have something to talk about?"
"Yes, Madam, and it’s about Camilla," Arthur said as he started the car and drove out of the parking lot. He told Winter everything, including her plan to lure Arthur into colluding with her, so they could separate Winter and Sebastian.
Winter listened to everything with great interest, and couldn’t help to ask, "I don’t understand why she needs to expose herself in front of you just so you two could work together. I am more than ready to step out of the marriage with Sebastian the moment he cheats on me, or betray me by giving all work information to his mommy."
"Well, since he hasn’t done anything yet, there is no reason for me to divorce him," Winter shrugged.
Arthur wanted to say that he preferred Madam to divorce Sebastian Saenz immediately to minimize risk, but it seemed that his Madam was very confident about him.
Thus, he had to swallow the bitter pill and ask, "Then, what should I do next, Madam?"
Naturally, Winter knew that she should allow Arthur to work with Camilla. If that old bitch could plant many moles inside her company, then she could do the same.
But... she was worried.
She was scared that Arthur would get hurt in the process, and possibly die, just like in her previous life.
