Chapter 119: Chapter 119

Winter returned to her room, getting ready for the day as she had to do her part as well.

She hated the fact that the same Sebastian Saenz had returned to her life, but if he really wanted to make amends, then she should let him be.

The faster they took Camilla down, the easier it would be for Winter to simply kick him out of her life.

When she finished dressing up in her black dress and walked out of her room, she found Sebastian already carrying his luggage in a hurry.

Sebastian stiffened when he saw Winter and tried to smile, "I’ll leave now."

"Good, you can ask the receptionist for the key. Don’t be late to the office," Winter said as she watched Sebastian walking out of the penthouse. She sighed because she kept seeing that pitiful look in his eyes as if he was a puppy being abandoned by his owner. "I don’t understand. Why would he need to make that face when there’s no way I’ll change my mind?"

Of course, Winter knew it was all just to rouse pity, so she would take him back. But he should’ve understood there was no redemption between them.

He already burned that bridge by ignoring all of her pleas in their previous lives.

Winter went down to the basement parking lot and saw Arthur already standing next to the car. His eyes brightened when he saw her but his happiness slowly dwindled after seeing that Winter wasn’t in a good mood and didn’t get a good sleep.

As they drove out of the parking lot, he asked, "Madam, is there something wrong? You look tired."

Winter didn’t answer it for a moment. She was debating whether she should say it or not.

’Arthur has no idea about what I’ve experienced in my previous life, nor does he know anything about his fate. But... if I tell him about it, he should trust me, right?’ Winter thought. ’He won’t see me as a mentally insane woman, right? Well, I am already insane because of what happened in my previous life, but still...’

"Madam?"

Winter took a deep breath after making her decision, and she said, "Arthur, do you know the concept of rebirth?"

"Rebirth? Uh... I guess?" Arthur frowned as he was genuinely confused as to why Madam wanted to talk about this. "I know a few things, but it usually happens in novels, right?"

"Yeah, it usually does," Winter smiled. "But what if someone—a real person—experienced rebirth in real life? What do you think about it?"

Arthur seriously didn’t understand what his Madam was referring to. He checked his Madam from the rearview mirror and realized that she was serious about this topic.

Thus, he also had to be serious about it.

Arthur cleared his throat and replied, "I think that would be amazing, Madam. From what I read in stories, people who experience rebirth means they die a premature death or suffer heavy injustice before their death. So, if someone experienced that, I hope they can do what is right for them with their second chance."

’Do what is right...’ Winter smiled as was finally assured. "Then, I want you to know how you simply disappeared in my previous life, Arthur."

Arthur held his breath as he thought his Madam was joking, but she looked dead serious as she added, "Not long after I married Sebastian Saenz, you will simply disappear out of my life. I can’t find you, nor can you tell me where you are. So, I assume you die at the hands of those scum, Sebastian and Camilla Saenz."

"M-Madam, are you a..."

"Yes, I have been reborn," Winter said. "Two years after my marriage with Sebastian, I jumped from the balcony of my penthouse as that pair of mother-son ruined my life. They took everything from me, and I was left with nothing but a baby in my belly..."

Winter was holding her tears as she was reminded of her sin as well. She knew the baby in her belly was not guilty of his father’s sin. But she had been pushed to the edge that she could not find any way out anymore.

She didn’t know what would happen if she gave birth to the baby and then died.

Would Sebastian take care of it?

Or would he abandon the baby just like how he abandoned her?

Arthur parked the car to the side when he saw tears welling in Winter’s eyes.

He thought that Madam was just joking around at first, but seeing how distressed she looked, he realized that she was serious.

He didn’t believe rebirth or reincarnation was real, but if his Madam said so, then he had to believe it no matter what. It was a part of his loyalty to his Madam.

"That’s why I hesitate when you say that you will work as a mole under Camilla’s order. I don’t want you to die," Winter said with a shaky voice. "You are truly the only one I can trust in my second life, Arthur."

"Madam..." Arthur wanted to wipe the tears from the corner of Winter’s eyes, but he knew his boundaries, and thus he asked, "So, that bastard Sebastian Saenz and his mother caused you so much harm in your previous life, right?"

Winter nodded.

"Then, I will end it," Arthur said resolutely. "I will shoot them both in the head and so you will have a good life, Madam."

"NO!" Winter rejected the idea immediately. "I don’t want you to go to jail."

"I don’t care if I will go to jail, Madam. They hurt you, so I will do my duty."

"I said NO!" Winter yelled even harder until her chest heaved.

"... I abide by your order, Madam," Arthur said solemnly. "Then, what are you going to do with Sebastian Saenz?"

"I already told him to move out once I realized he’s the same Sebastian Saenz from my previous life," Winter said. "But you shouldn’t attack him now, because he promised to help me take down his mother and also stabilize the company."
