Madam Wants To Divorce Her Second Husband-Chapter 125
Chapter 125: Chapter 125
The police carried Cindy out of the house and asked Arthur and Winter a few questions before they left.
Arthur closed the door, staring at his Madam with a complicated gaze and asked, "What should we do next, Madam? That woman is obviously targeting you, and I don’t want to take a chance for her to move around freely and find a way to hurt you."
Winter said nothing at first as she was still processing everything right now.
But she finally reacted when Arthur asked, "Should I just go and kill her? I can shoot her in the face and she’d be dead by now."
"I don’t want you to go to jail, Arthur," Winter said firmly. "We can find another way to rope her into this problem, anything but murder because it would implicate both of us into this."
Arthur gritted his teeth, of course, he knew the risk, but he didn’t care even if he went to jail, as long as his Madam would be safe from that witch.
But he still didn’t want to implicate Winter in this. Madam had suffered enough, so she didn’t deserve to rot in jail for a woman like Camilla.
"Give me time as I will collect all the incriminating evidence to bring her down, so for now, I want you to stay put, got it?" Winter said.
"But, about the offer that she gave me—"
"Cut her out. Never contact her unless you’re with me. She has successfully influenced Cindy—the sister I grew up with—to kill her family for a stupid reason. Do you think you’re strong enough that you won’t be influenced?"
Arthur wanted to say that he had enough reason not to be attracted to whatever offer Camilla had. But the firmness in his Madam’s eyes made him swallow that sentence and nodded obediently.
"I will talk to my mother first. This apartment is not safe anymore."
"Yes, Madam."
Winter went upstairs to check on her mother.
Gina was still sitting on her bed, but she was crying right now, and Winter’s heart ached to see her mother like this.
Cindy said that their mother favoured Winter more than her, but the truth is... Winter also felt the same.
Gina was always worried about Cindy since Cindy was not the best at making friends. She was quite introverted and spent her days in their home.
Winter thought that Gina didn’t need to worry too much for a girl who was already in her twenties, but Gina was still adamant about making sure that Cindy could live a good life.
Unfortunately, all of her worries were for nothing, because Cindy had the intention to murder them both, had it not been for Arthur to intercept.
Winter kneeled next to the bed, holding Gina’s hand, she said, "Don’t cry, Mom. It’s not your fault." frёewebηovel.cѳm
"It is my fault, Winter. I must’ve raised her wrong," Gina lamented. "Cindy was such a good girl. I still remember that small girl who was hugging me tightly because she didn’t want to move out and be with another foster parent, so I adopted her. I want to give the best to her, I really do, and now she’s going to jail!"
Winter couldn’t bear to see her mother crying like this. She said, "Don’t worry about her. Since both of us are unharmed, she would most likely get interrogated, and have her sanity tested. If she’s proven to be sane, then she’d be under house arrest. I will make sure that she is well-fed here."
Gina finally stopped crying once she heard that. She stared at her daughter and said, "I know she had done us wrong, but please at least don’t let her die, Winter."
"Oh, I won’t. Trust me, Mom."
’Instead, I will make sure she’ll be stuck in this house for a long time, like a pet hamster. So she won’t be a headache to me or harm others,’ Winter added in her heart.
"Now, there is no way I would let you stay here without any supervision. So you should come with me to my penthouse, Mom. It’s much safer there."
Gina might be old and stubborn, but she wasn’t unreasonable. She would move out if it was necessary.
However, she wondered about one thing.
"How about your husband?"
"Oh him—" Winter sneered. "Don’t mind him. We have a bit of a problem so we’re living separately. That’s why I want you to come, so I wouldn’t feel so lonely."
Gina wasn’t surprised by Winter’s complicated relationship with her second husband, since she already told her before.
She wanted to ask a few questions regarding Sebastian Saenz, but seeing how she looked pissed the moment they were talking about him, she decided to keep the questions to herself and then said, "Please help me to move out. I don’t want to be alone in here, Winter."

Arthur helped Gina to pack everything and then they left the apartment.
Gina was sitting next to Winter as the car drove through New York and headed to the penthouse.
Winter pushed the wheelchair into the penthouse and gave Gina a tour around while Arthur went back and forth to put all of Gina’s belongings into the guest room and arranged everything for the old lady.
After he was done, Arthur asked, "Madam, is it really alright for me to leave you alone in here? Frankly, I’m still worried that you will be in danger when I’m not around."
"This penthouse is as safe as it can be, and now that Sebastian doesn’t live in the penthouse anymore, there is no reason to be concerned," Winter replied. "You should rest, Arthur. You’ve done so much for me today. I will give you a bonus, as much as you like, for saving my life."
"I don’t need money, Madam. You’ve given me more than enough to live very comfortably in New York. I’m just doing my job."
Winter’s lips thinned.
Of course, she knew what Arthur wanted.
Even years ago, she already knew that Arthur was in love with her. But she didn’t see him that way.
He was her bodyguard, friend, and also close aide.
But never a lover, because she had no romantic feelings for him.
And Arthur seemed to understand the situation. He excused himself and left the penthouse.
"I’m sorry, Arthur. I can’t force it, not when I don’t see you romantically," Winter muttered as she entered the guest room to talk with her mother.
Gina was sitting on the bed, staring at the view from the window and said, "This place is beautiful, Winter. No wonder Cindy is so jealous of you."
"She is an adult, Mom. Being jealous is fine, but acting on it is not," Winter said. "Besides, if she really wants to, I can always buy her an apartment on her own. I haven’t done it yet, because I want her to work hard first in the office."
Gina clenched the blanket as she was suppressing her grief, "You are right. It’s never your fault. I’m just sad that we’ve come to this."
"You still have me as your family, Mom. Don’t be sad," Winter said. "I will hire a caregiver to take care of you while I’m in the office, okay?"
Gina nodded weakly, "Thank you for everything, Winter."
"I’m just doing what’s right, Mom," Winter smiled before she left the room.
After she made sure that her mother was well-rested after a long day, she didn’t go to her room.
Instead, she grabbed a spare access key and went downstairs where Sebastian was living. She wanted to see if that bastard knew anything about what her mother did today.
**
Sebastian was exhausted after another long day at work. He had to return to the apartment late at night, and this would continue for at least six months before he could breathe a little.
However, no amount of exhaustion would stop him from trying his best. After all, he did it for Winter, and as long as Winter allowed him to stick around, then he had zero regrets.
He unlocked the door with an access card and then loosened his tie as he kicked his shoes. He also threw the briefcase at a random spot. Now that he didn’t live with Winter, he had no need to watch over his behaviour.
However, the moment he turned the light on in the living room, his heart skipped a beat, because he saw Winter sitting on the sofa with her arms crossed over her chest.
She looked stone-cold, and Sebastian had a bad feeling about this.
"Ah—w-why are you here? Did I do something wrong? Or do you need something from me?" Sebastian asked awkwardly as he walked closer to his beloved.
Winter didn’t beat around the bush and asked, "Do you know what happened today?"
"What happened today? Uh..." Sebastian was genuinely clueless. He was so busy because he didn’t want to mess up the project. "Is there something wrong? Tell me, so I can fix it."
"Oh, yes, I think you need to fix this," Winter said as she took out her phone and played the recording of Cindy’s confession about Camilla who influenced her to murder her mother.
