Madam Wants To Divorce Her Second Husband-Chapter 48
Chapter 48: Chapter 48
Winter bit her lower lip.
The bet that Sebastian proposed actually sounded fair.
An internship in Goldmine Realty usually took three to six months. After that, it was up to the company to either let the interns go or have them undergo another interview for a permanent position.
’I’m sure I can catch him doing something within three to six months,’ Winter pondered. ’I got the anonymous tip about Sebastian with another woman about six months after our wedding. So it shouldn’t take long for him to cheat again, just like in the previous life. He’s just a young man who thinks with his dick, after all. He won’t be able to control himself after not having sex for a while.’
Brimming with confidence, Winter nodded firmly. "Fine, let’s make that bet. If I win, I’ll let her stick with you and you’ll have to leave my penthouse."
"Wait, that’s not part of my offer—"
"If I lose, I’ll help you as a personal secretary in the office."
"Well, if that’s how you want to play it, I’ll add more," Sebastian said. "I’ll gladly leave this penthouse if you win. But if you lose, you should allow me to sleep with you in the master bedroom like a normal husband and wife."
"Don’t try your luck, Sebastian."
"It’s all fair in love and war, right?" Sebastian chuckled. "If you don’t accept this clause, I won’t accept yours either."
"Tsk, fine," Winter agreed, though reluctantly. "It’s not like you’ll win."
"Hah! You’re going to sleep with me, Winter," Sebastian proclaimed. "And there’s nothing you can do about it."
"You act like it’s some sort of prize worth fighting for," Winter rolled her eyes. She remembered how often Sebastian kicked her out of the master bedroom in their previous lives.
No matter what she did, he refused to sleep in the same bed. In the end, after a full year of trying, she finally gave up and resigned to her fate that she wouldn’t be able to sleep with her own husband.
’I don’t know what’s wrong with him. But I’m sure it won’t take long for him to realize he’s making a mistake,’ Winter sneered inwardly. ’He’ll regret it sooner or later. ’
Meanwhile, Sebastian could hardly contain his joy.
Winter might think he was just playing around, but he was dead serious.
The idea of sleeping together as a husband and wife with Winter was enough to bring him to cloud nine. Because it was the most basic thing for a married couple, and he missed it.
’I was an idiot for kicking her out many times. But it’s okay. I can fix this. I can fix us.’
Sebastian feared Winter might notice his lips twitching as he tried to hide his smile. So, he turned around and said, "If you have nothing else to say, then I’ll go to my room. I’m way too beat to deal with this."
Winter watched Sebastian return to his room and sighed as she poured the creamy mushroom soup from the pot into a bowl. freёnovelkiss.com
"Why did I make so much anyway?" Winter asked herself. It was obviously a portion for two or three people.
"I think it’s because I’m used to cooking dinner for two," Winter murmured. She spent her days preparing food for her husband, always making the same portion, even though more than half of it always ended up in the trash can.
Winter put the food on the dining table and ate half of it herself. She stared at the empty chair before her and sighed, ’Maybe I should just eat out. This emptiness reminds me of my days eating alone when Sebastian always refused to share a table with me.’
Winter finished her dinner and put the remaining creamy mushroom soup in the fridge. She might reheat it for breakfast tomorrow or just throw it away.

...
Sebastian finished showering and waited for another hour before opening the door.
His eyes scanned around the living room, and after making sure Winter wasn’t around, he tiptoed his way to the kitchen and checked the fridge.
"Yes, yes!" he exclaimed softly, quickly covering his lips to contain his excitement.
He might look stupid now, but he missed Winter’s cooking. Two years after her death, he had fallen into deep depression, and one of his regrets was not eating anything that Winter cooked.
Just as he expected, Winter couldn’t finish the creamy mushroom she made, so there were still leftovers.
She would probably throw this away tomorrow morning so Sebastian didn’t waste his chance.
He took it out and reheated it in the microwave.
Sebastian grabbed a bottle of mineral water and brought the hot creamy mushroom soup bowl to his room.
He sat on the table and started with a sip of the soup.
"My wife’s homemade soup..." Sebastian was about to cry as he savored the taste in his mouth.
He disliked mushrooms and wasn’t fond of soup in the summer.
But it was Winter who made it, and it tasted amazing!
"Damn, is it because I haven’t eaten her food for years? This is the best," Sebastian said as he scooped up the creamy mushroom soup. It only took him a few minutes to empty the bowl.
Sebastian burped and then patted his stomach. "That’s the stuff. I should’ve asked her to make more."
He felt guilty staring at the empty bowl on the table. He had only planned to eat a little so Winter wouldn’t know he had eaten everything.
But it was so good that he finished the entire bowl, a portion for two people.
"I guess I have to come up with a good excuse tomorrow," Sebastian murmured. He had acted impulsively, but he regretted nothing.
He didn’t care if he had to sneak around like a thief every night if he could eat his wife’s cooking. "Ah, Sebastian, if only you hadn’t been so foolish back then. You could have eaten the best food every day until you were fat."
