Madam Wants To Divorce Her Second Husband-Chapter 79
Chapter 79: Chapter 79
"Hm, you can go now," Sebastian said before he returned to his documents, ignoring the piercing gaze coming from her.
"Please excuse me, Sir."
Sebastian waited until the door was closed, and then got up. He took the coffee on the table and walked to the bathroom in his office. He dumped everything into the sink, it was the first thing he had to do before it became a major oversight that’d cost him dearly.
He didn’t know what that woman put inside his coffee, maybe she put a sleeping pill, an aphrodisiac, or any other dangerous stuff that could trap or even kill him.
"I’m not falling into the same trap twice, Cindy Hazard," Sebastian said coldly as he put the empty cup on the table. "In this life, I will dedicate myself to protecting my wife, including protecting her from her sister."

Winter was busy in the finance department right now. She helped in auditing the financial reports for the branch companies and found that some of them weren’t working as well as she expected.
Her presence loomed in the finance department, making everyone nervous because they knew she could get them fired anytime soon.
Yet, the Madam was relaxed.
It had been years since she last worked in an office, and it felt great knowing that she could’ve used her experience to help Sebastian improve the company that Aiden left.
Just as she said before. She was fair with her assessment, and she knew that helping Sebastian at work would be great for the company’s future.
’It’d be better if Goldmine Realty achieved the new height earlier, so I won’t need to worry about it anymore,’ Winter thought as she continued reading the report in her hand.
However, she found it difficult to focus because she kept thinking about one man, Lucien LeBlanc.
She had been planning to set up a meeting with Lucien LeBlanc, so Sebastian and him could talk about working together to create a resort or some sort.
She believed in Sebastian’s ability, all she needed to do was to create an opening for him.
Lucien had an office in New York, but he rarely came to the office because he often traveled across the globe to survey locations for his resorts and hotels.
At least, that was what Winter guessed, because when she called his office, the secretary said that Mr. LeBlanc was currently in the Maldives.
Thus, she simply left Lucien’s secretary a message to give her a heads up when Lucien would return to the U.S.
She didn’t expect a quick response, knowing how busy Lucien was.
But to her surprise, her phone suddenly rang, and when she saw the caller ID, her heartbeat accelerated instantly.
It was Lucien!
Winter panicked. She wondered if she had to sound professional or friendly.
She wanted to be friendly, but they had only met a few times in formal parties, and she got his contact because he gave it to her.
But she never actually called Lucien, simply because she had nothing to do with him, until now. free𝑤ebnovel.com
’I need to be casual, but not too casual. Okay, Winter. Let’s do this.’
Winter took a deep breath before she accepted the call.
—
"Good morning, Mr. LeBlanc. It’s me, Winter Kirk. Aiden Kirk’s wife. I—"
"Winter! Geez, why do you need to call my office? If you need something, you should just call me!" Lucien said in his thick French accent and an overtly friendly tone as if they were already close friends. "And why are you calling me Mr. LeBlanc? Don’t be so stiff, just call me Lucien. We’ve promised, right?"
"Right..." Winter recalled one of their conversations at a charity event. Lucien did tell Winter to call him by his first name because he already saw her as a friend.
Winter didn’t care too much about it, thinking it was just a formal friendliness between colleagues.
But now it seemed that Lucien was serious.
"It’s been a while since I last met you. It was during Aiden’s funeral. I’m sorry for your loss, Winter..." Lucien said. "If only I can make it easier for you."
True, Winter saw Lucien during Aiden’s funeral. But she didn’t talk to him, nor to anyone in that funeral ceremony.
She was too heartbroken to cry, let alone speak to anyone.
Not wanting to dwell on this depressing topic for too long, Winter shifted the topic, "Lucien, may I know when will you return to the US?"
"Oh? Do you need me for something? Are you in trouble?" Lucien asked. "I’m always here to help."
"I am in trouble, yes. But not in a dire way, I think..." Winter said, unsure of the situation in Goldmine Realty. Even if the company filed for bankruptcy, she would still have enough savings and assets inherited from Aiden to go on her merry way until she died of old age. But she desperately wanted to save this company, because it was left by her husband. "I need to meet you in person, so I can talk about my problem. That’s why I want to know when you will return."
"Well, I don’t have any plans to return soon. But for you, I can make an exception," Lucien said. "I can fly to New York right now, and we can meet tomorrow."
"No, no, I don’t want to make it difficult for you. I’m the one in need, after all," Winter refused immediately.
"Hm, if you don’t want to. How about you come to me in Maldives? It’s beautiful here. We can spend our time together while talking about your problem," Lucien offered.
Winter gulped.
She was tempted by the offer.
She visited Maldives a few times with Aiden in the past, and she loved it. It could also be an escape for her, so she wouldn’t need to meet with Sebastian every single day.
But she doubted she could bring Sebastian into this trip because he had a lot to oversee in the office. So, they had to meet here, in New York.
"I can’t go to Maldives right now. But I can always wait for your return," Winter said. "I can always come to meet you if you happen to attend a formal party in New York too."
