Mage Manual-Chapter 1467 - 1068: The Arrival of Youmo
Ash opened his eyes and saw Death Mad falling alongside him.
In the pitch-black deep sea, her ruby eyes remained bright, but Ash could still recognize some differences: compared to Sonia, Death Mad’s eyes were more enigmatic, like an abyss, unfathomable. 𝐟𝕣𝗲𝕖𝕨𝗲𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝗲𝚕.𝗰𝚘𝐦
She is really a beauty, but that’s a given, Sonia is a pretty girl and naturally, so is Death Mad. However, Ash found it hard to notice her beauty before; she was too unique and cold, making her seem distant, so Ash dared not look at her too much.
Only in the silent deep sea did Ash realize she was dazzlingly impossible to ignore. Unlike Sonia’s flamboyant beauty, Death Mad exuded an enigmatic aura, not because her beauty was restrained, but because she did not care about others’ opinions. Whether it was her attire, smoking, or tone, she only pursued her own desires, much like a rose on a cliff, proud to bloom regardless of whether anyone admired her.
She quietly looked at Ash, without saying a word.
Ash disliked her attitude, as he couldn’t understand what this woman was thinking. Did she create this situation or not? Just say "yes" or "no", what’s the meaning of "whatever you think"? If only there was time and he was able, Ash really wanted to give her a beating to make her speak human language properly.
If it was intentional, she must have wanted to force him to reveal his soul, but then why remind him how to fight? Shouldn’t she have made things worse for him for her own gain?
If it wasn’t intentional, then why did she still push him to sell his soul to save his life? Show some shame at least, why the arrogant expression like he’s being bestowed a favor?
So frustrating, Ash closed his eyes, silently praying Sonia never becomes a woman like Death Mad.
Tonight, he was overwhelmed: the End Five’s coveting of "Aurora’s Mage Manual", the hellish scavenging environment, The Forgotten, memory erasure, soul selling... Just sorting out his thoughts burned his brain, especially without Vishi, Weiser, and Igula there, relying solely on himself to judge... yet he couldn’t even determine if the one person he might rely on was friend or foe.
Once he opens his eyes, would his sight meet an evil ghost he should slay with a blade, or a friend to greet with a smile?
Ash opened his eyes, silently locking eyes with Death Mad as they fell. Only then did he notice that Death Mad was still clutching a cigarette with her mouth... seawater couldn’t extinguish her addiction.
Death Mad noticed Ash’s gaze, thought for a moment, then used her fingers to grab the half-burned cigarette, offering it to Ash.
Ash was slightly startled; when he accepted the cigarette, he marveled at why he did so.
He took a puff, seawater didn’t gush into his mouth, but he still couldn’t help but cough repeatedly.
Too spicy, no wonder the smoke was so choking... I really don’t mesh well with this woman.
Ash handed the cigarette back and then opened "Aurora’s Mage Manual" - "Operator Seeking". As expected, the seeking interface displayed an event activity: "Demon King’s Arrival".
"Demon King’s Arrival Anniversary Event Seeking"
"Operator: ’Death Mad Sword Maiden’, With Enhanced Chance of Obtaining: ’Black and White Witch’, ’Eternal Night Silver Lamp’, ’Demon Maid’ ↑↑"
"Exclusive Resources: ’Hell Heavenly Curtain’, ’Golden River’, ’Soul Stone Tomb’ Chance of Obtaining ↑↑"
"Exclusive Outfits: ’Sovereign of All: Maid’, ’Knowledge’s Ruins: Silver Lamp’, ’Multiplayer Frolic: Witch’, ’Bride: Sword Maiden’ Chance of Obtaining ↑↑"
"Ends on ? month ? day 00:00"
Ash ignored the contents of the seeking, using only 3 Source Crystals for one attempt, knowing that this one try would yield exactly what he wanted... thereafter, his seeking would no longer be random, only an operator’s black curtain remained.
As the bluish light illuminated the interface, the whispers of countless grieving souls seemed to echo in Ash’s ears, a murky and profound black mist polluted the entire interface, a strong sense of suffocation tightly gripping his throat. Vaguely guessing what he attained, the oppressive feeling... he’d encountered half a year ago.
The ghostly glow slowly spread, melding with the murky darkness to birth a glamorous elf girl. She wore almost nothing, apart from underwear, only a few purple sashes wrapped around her body, her snow-white skin starkly contrasting the gloom, as if a bewitching white lotus born in distant darkness.
"Enigmatic Demon King"
"Abnormality: Sacrifice 25% of the soul for Abnormality Synchronization?"
The Youmo stared through the interface at Ash, her gaze penetrating Ash’s mind effortlessly, dictating his actions. Before Ash realized, he already pressed "Abnormality Synchronization".
Simultaneously, the closest Body Technique Demigod had already arrived.
Claws, swords, spears, strong fists, they sealed off all paths of escape for Ash, biting at him like sharks surrounding a dolphin!
Bang!
All their attacks struck true, dealing heavy damage to Ash’s body, piercing flesh, tearing tendons. Ash’s body exploded into a thick mist of blood, slowly diffusing in the ocean.
Yet in the silent deep sea, a near-groaning sound resonated:
"Pain..."
"So painful..."
"It hurts so much..."
"But without pain," the shrouded figure laughed recklessly: "How else to find relief!?"
A soul scream shockwave burst from his laughter in all directions, instantly devastating all seawater within a hundred meters, the Body Technique Demigods retreated swiftly yet were without exception, slammed by the scream wave, vomiting blood, comatose, and some even had their heads explode!
"Ah, ah..." The figure in the mist caressed his body almost narcissistically, not sparing even an inch of skin, lingering a bit longer at sensitive spots, "This is a lively body, this is the feeling of living... truly wonderful, truly wonderful hahahaha!"
"Calm down, the time to enjoy is short, I must plan accordingly, complete the most urgent matter first." The figure in the mist excitedly calmed his breath, cupping his rosy cheeks with both hands, "The first thing must be... to go back and have fun with Vishi!"
A flurry of wind and snow blew within the ocean, the receding seawater instantly froze, plunging the entire area into a cold abyss. But the next moment, the ice shattered entirely, the figure emerged from within, still playing with the recently deceased Demigods’ souls in his hands.
Once the soul was condensed into merely the size of a light bulb, the figure tossed it upward, and it became a bluish light source, illuminating the space surrounding him, casually creating a dry environment within the sea.
"Such a good body, not to have a good look would be too wasteful." The misty figure caressed his hands indulgently, but when he raised his head to glance at the encircling Demigods, his face bore only icy disdain.
"Must I play you all to death," he sighed helplessly: "Before going back to play with women?"
