Magic Academy's Villain Bodyguard: I Must Tame All The Princesses-Chapter 18: Pixelation
Azariah stood in front of a building with a tense frown on his face.
’A single hit.’
That was all he had to land on Melissa to get accepted into the disciplinary committee.
He didn’t know why she did that. After all, Darius wasn’t wrong.
Anyone accepting him would be taking a very significant responsibility for his safety.
No sensible person would take him under after seeing his strength, yet she stood up at the last moment.
’She definitely has an ulterior motive.’
It wouldn’t be Melissa if she didn’t. He knew her well enough from the game.
Regardless, he now had an opportunity to not let his plans completely go up in flames.
After a request, he had been given one day to prepare for the fight.
If Azariah had to be honest, he wasn’t sure if he could do it.
Melissa — a 2nd year ranked at the top of her year. A captain of the Regulation Committee.
And him — ranked 1947 with a beginner mastery in Umbrakinesis.
The chances weren’t slim. They were non-existent.
However, if he had faith in anything that could help him within the fight, it was one ability.
’Pixelation.’ 𝚏𝕣𝕖𝚎𝚠𝚎𝚋𝚗𝐨𝐯𝕖𝕝.𝕔𝐨𝕞
No one knew what it was — even Azariah. But what it had done in the fight against the student was enough for him to know it was very powerful.
It could be the ability to give him the element of surprise in the battle, just for a single moment.
Before that, he needed to know what it was first. Azariah himself had no idea how this ability worked.
Which was why he was in front of the current building.
Looking up, he read the name of the building once more.
Edo Training Facilities.
These training facilities were different from the ones in the academic building.
The training grounds in the academic building were public and could be used by anyone, whenever.
It gave you no privacy to practice your abilities.
That’s why he came here.
Every student in the academy was given hours for a month on how long they could train inside these facilities.
The hours were given based on your rank, unfortunately, and not your class.
Which meant...
[Training Facility Hours: 24]
For a whole month, he could only train for 24 hours inside the facility.
’Absolute dogshit.’
Well, why was he complaining? It was a rule he had set himself.
Accepting the pain, Azariah walked into the training facility.
As he entered, he saw a gigantic reception desk with at least ten robots behind the counter tending to students.
Since there was only one gargantuan facility for the whole academy, there were multiple counters for students.
The first-year lanes weren’t that busy, with two of them even being empty.
It made sense since it was only their third day. People were still getting used to life in the academy — and here he was, coming to train.
’If only I wasn’t trying to fight for my life.’
Walking up to the robot, Azariah quickly flashed his terminal to the robot in front.
"Welcome—"
Its automatic response was immediately skipped.
"Student Azariah Indrath, logging into your Training Facility Profile. Login confirmed. Stopwatch Mode or Timer?"
"Timer for 3 hours."
Since some students lost track of time inside, there was a timer mode to let you know when your time was over.
"OK. Here is the ID pass for your training room."
The robot flashed him a metal card engraved with digital lines. It also held his room ID.
[ROOM 472]
Taking it from its hand, Azariah cleared the line and proceeded to the corridor behind the robot.
He was greeted by gigantic doors on both sides of the path that stretched far ahead of him.
Numbers were labeled in black on the white metallic doors, indicating the room number.
Following the numbers, Azariah kept walking for a couple of minutes before finally finding his room.
472, it said in large print on the door.
Just next to it was a control panel with a blue screen on it, where Azariah quickly flashed his card.
The next second, it flashed green, and the door slowly opened, followed by a wave of cold white smoke.
"Interesting."
The next second, he disappeared behind the door.
***
Entering the room, Azariah saw that the room inside was much smaller than it looked from the outside.
Probably because of his rank.
He knew that high-rankers had rooms much larger than what one would think them to be from the outside.
The space inside these rooms was manipulated by spatialkinesis artifacts possessed by the academy.
Regardless, the whole room was covered by large white tiles from all sides. If one were to just stand there in silence, the room could give off an eerie vibe.
Anyways, he needed to hurry up. There were only 24 hours for him in this room, and the timer had already started the moment he stepped inside.
"Summon a female single entity, Master Ranked."
As the words left his lips, suddenly the tile 2 meters away from him moved and a dummy entity appeared from underground.
Again, the dummies weren’t physically stored underground because it was impossible to know what the trainee wanted.
It was all through the use of spatialkinesis, generated by an artifact that was one of the academy’s main jewels.
"Generate a novice-ranked Glacio magic sequence."
Once more, a holographic light-blue magic sequence appeared in front of the dummy’s raised arm now.
"Negative execution," Azariah quickly said, for the robot not to shoot the spell.
Now the magic sequence was just put on hold in front of its hand.
These magic sequences were also pre-stored in massive amounts using the same technology as in terminals.
"Now..."
Azariah focused, trying to manifest the same energy he did during the encounter with Div 1 back then.
Over the course of these three days, he at least now knew how to execute magic and spells.
Taking mana in and out, channeling it through his body, and manifesting it became easy for him once he spent three days doing it naturally.
Immediately, he felt the same feeling as the last time — raw and destructive energy coursing through his veins.
And it was affirmed by the red, rottish hue that then surrounded his arm, extending towards his hand.
Azariah took a deep breath, trying to calm himself, but it was to no avail.
His mana was getting sucked fast, and his heart was going berserk for some reason.
Regardless, he kept his focus on the circle and extended his arm towards it.
The very second he did, he could see an effect take hold of the magic sequence.
It started to vibrate, and the magic encryptions and chants engraved in the sequences suddenly started to disappear.
Or, a better word would be, ’pixelate’, as they just broke and evaporated into the air.
Before long, cracks started to appear on the whole sequence, and finally—
TING!
The whole sequence suddenly broke down into a mess of pixels before disappearing into the air.
"Huff... Huff... Pant..."
Sweat started to pour down his back as breathing became difficult for him, with a minor pain creeping up in his head.
"This is dangerous..."
He looked at his status window.
[Mana: 2700/3400]
’700 mana gone in three seconds???’
That was an insane rate of depletion, not to mention how much strain the ability put on him.
However, it was equally — or even more — insane at the same time.
’Pixelation.’
From what he just saw and could gather, it seemed that he could ’pixelate’ magic.
He could not only nullify but completely destroy magic sequences and spells.
Azariah didn’t have to do a single analysis of the magic formulas or elements to do so. The ability automatically allowed him to completely break down spells.
And this was the first impression of the ability.
Who knew what else he could do with it?
Destroy physical things as well?
Recast the destroyed magic?
Reshape the magic?
There were endless possibilities for what he could do with the ability.
And to think this was something that literally went against the nature of his game.
’This is insane.’
Azariah Indrath...
Just who was he, and did he always have this ability?
If so, then why did he disappear so early in the game?
These were all questions that Yuito did not have an answer to yet.
I’m so sorry for no update for two days!
I was out of the city for my upcoming college entry test and thus had no access to cellphone or PC.
I know this is not an excuse, but to make up for it, I’ll try to do a mass release in this coming week!
Moving forward, I’ll try to make a stack of Chapters for such occasions, and from tomorrow the update rate will consistently be 2–3 Chapters a day!!
Thank you all for your support!!!
