Magic Academy's Villain Bodyguard: I Must Tame All The Princesses-Chapter 17: Rejections and Acceptances
The moment classes ended, Azariah turned to Alyssa.
"I’ll have to report to the Regulation Committee now," he said.
Alyssa just stared at him blankly before replying back.
"Go. Why are you telling that to me?"
’Well... yeah, I’m stupid. I’m taking this too seriously.’
Nodding, he turned and quickly made his way out of the classroom.

Azariah arrived inside the same building where he was yesterday.
It seemed that there was a whole corner inside the academic block dedicated to such committees.
Normally, students weren’t allowed to venture here like yesterday, but Amanda had given him a temporary pass.
It hung around his neck, and nobody asked him or stopped him now that he entered the area.
It didn’t take him long to find the Regulation Committee room. It was quite near the Student Council building.
Coming to one of the same huge doors he had seen yesterday, Azariah knocked twice on them.
A second later, a voice came from inside.
"Enter."
He was surprised to see just how little force it took to open the gigantic door.
Entering the room, he saw that it was drastically different from the Student Council one.
The chairs and tables were much smaller, and there wasn’t much decoration on the walls or sides either.
Overall, it was just a downgraded version — and it made sense since the academy council was higher in priority.
Clearing his thoughts, he turned to the stares in the room that he was getting now.
On the table in front of him, there were six people seated, with a man seated at the head of the table.
In an instant, he knew who the man was.
Standing at 6’6", with a height that rivaled a guy in his class, brown eyes coupled with black hair, and a build so powerful that Azariah could see himself seeing death with one punch, it was evident who the guy was.
Darius Solisius — the elder brother of Igor Solisius.
The badge and bars on his coat indicated that he was the Commander of the Regulation Committee.
A committee was free in how it wanted to term its members and leaders.
Before Azariah could introduce himself, Darius already recognized him.
"I’m assuming you are Azariah Indrath? The one who was sent by Amanda?"
Azariah nodded.
"Yes."
A frown creased Darius’ brows.
"And you want to join the Disciplinary Committee?"
Azariah nodded again.
"Yes."
"Rejected," Darius answered in the next second.
"I’m sorry, what?" Azariah blurted out in his shock.
This wasn’t how he was expecting it to go.
"Yes, that is my answer. You can leave the room once you are done."
Annoyance was now coming to Azariah, as this wasn’t how his plans were supposed to go.
"Excuse me, but if you don’t mind me asking — why?"
As the words left his mouth, Darius’ eyes locked onto Azariah as if questioning whether he was joking.
"Are you really in the position or power to question me on this?" he asked.
A pressure came so hard upon Azariah that he was instantly forced to his knees. Darius was taking no mercy on him.
He could practically see the grins on the faces of the other five captains.
"Very well, I’ll explain to you why. We are currently in the middle of an ongoing crisis of campus riots, and we requested the academy council for some real students who could fight — not kids that would die out there within a second of a riot," he said, coldness and rudeness creeping into his voice.
To some extent, Azariah was now starting to understand his rejection.
If he was the Commander of the Regulation Committee and someone sent him a student like himself, Azariah would feel mocked as well.
"Student Azariah Indrath. Student rank: 1947. No combat experience, no achievements, and a novice mastery of the Umbrakinesis element." He mocked Azariah, every word stinging the latter like a knife.
"Is the academy council intending to make a mockery of me with this one?"
The pressure suddenly increased on him tenfold.
Azariah could feel himself losing his vision and blood coming up his throat.
His clothes were drenched in sweat, and his bones seemed to be at the edge of breaking.
Was this really it? If he was going to get rejected from the Disciplinary Committee, it was going to make his plans a lot harder.
No, it was going to be practically impossible to find the cause of the riots.
Azariah should have expected such a scenario. Regardless of whether Amanda recommended him or not, the Commander of the Regulation Committee was free from any orders relating to his committee.
She could not force him to accept members that could be dangerous to his committee.
That could basically count as a method of trying to sabotage him.
Just as Azariah was about to give up, the pressure on him suddenly disappeared as another voice entered the fray.
"Calm down, Darius." It was a cool, collected feminine voice.
Free from the pressure, Azariah could finally look up — where he saw a familiar face.
’How did I not notice her before?’
It was true.
With short dark blue hair that reached above her shoulders and eyes almost the same color as Azariah’s, it didn’t take a moment’s notice for him to know who she was.
Melissa Thorne. A second-year student who was currently a captain in the Regulation Committee.
’Ah, I guess she hasn’t really bloomed yet right now.’
Though he could already see how strong she was, the world wasn’t ready to see what she would be next year.
Melissa Thorne was a name that brought peace and rest to everyone’s mind on the battlefield in the future.
But currently, she was just a strong captain in the Regulation Committee.
At her words, Azariah saw Darius take a deep breath, finally calming down somewhat.
The former knew that the latter wasn’t necessarily like this. In fact, he was quite soft with applicants and new members.
But if there was anything Darius hated to see, it was him and his pride being disrespected — something he assumed Amanda had done by sending Azariah.
"Listen, kid. I have no qualms with new applicants right now in such a time of crisis. I appreciate them, in fact. However, I’m not going to send a student so weak into those riots that you could return with serious injuries."
It was true. To a certain extent, Darius’ view was right.
He had to be extra careful about the members he was picking for his committee.
Any injuries or even potential deaths would fall on him, not Amanda. Especially the death of an Indrath — even if he was adopted.
"Even if I were to take you in, there is no captain here that would take you under their wing," he said, pouring cold water on Azariah.
Though it was frustrating, Azariah had to admit he was right.
He really came here with no plans and just thought he would get accepted.
It was a tough pill to swallow, but he had to take it.
"I understand."
But just as he was about to stand up and take his leave, a familiar voice penetrated the room.
"I’ll do it. I’ll take him under my wing."
Azariah’s eyes widened as he turned to see Melissa raising her hand. It had even Darius and the other captains looking at her as if she had gone mad.
But of course, it was clear that she wasn’t just going to make it easy for Azariah.
"Provided he can confront me in a battle and land a single hit on me."

Hello readers! I know my update schedule and timing aren’t really the best, and I still apologize — I’m trying to figure it all out with my tests and college.
I apologize to you all for that.
With such a schedule, I know the story might seem slow to you, with how it’s been 17 Chapters and we are still on Arc 1.
However, I want to clarify that this Rosalith Arc is the first major arc of the story, so it is quite long.
If we divide it into sub-arcs, you can already think of one arc as completed — the introductory arc.
I know there hasn’t been much action till now, but I promise you the next Chapters ahead are all battles and drama.
Thank you for supporting this novel and coping with my bad schedule! Thank you for reading my work! I love you all!!
