Magus Supremacy-Chapter 807: A Deadly 2 V 1
Chapter 807
One moment Orion was gloating, and the next, Thalos’ blade was already at his neck—ready to slice through it.
The man merely smiled faintly, his eyes glinting with interest.
Then, with Ki surging through his legs and amplifying them to impossible levels, he leaped backward lightly.
Yet even with the minimal effort he exerted, the ground where he had been standing collapsed inward, forming a wide hollow that resembled an abyss.
Thalos’ sword missed by a wide margin, striking nothing but air with a thunderous boom that rattled the surrounding space.
"Ohoy~ someone has definitely evolved since the last time I saw ’em," Orion commented with amusement, his gaze fixed on Thalos glaring back at him.
’Hm?’
Spinning around swiftly, Orion caught sight of a lightning-forged sword streaking toward him like a divine comet.
Ki burst around his hands as he lifted them and smacked the weapon aside, sending it crashing into the ground beside him with a loud bang.
Dust billowed upward while sparks of electricity thrashed violently.
Glancing at the back of the hand he had used to deflect the attack, he noticed it was slightly singed.
In the next instant, Orion bent his head low—just in time to avoid Thalos’ blade as it whistled past his skull, slicing through the air effortlessly.
Without hesitation, Orion swung his elbow backward, mere seconds away from connecting with Thalos.
The gargoyle pivoted sharply on one foot, twisting his entire frame to evade the elbow strike.
Then, channeling all his strength, he drove his massive foot toward Orion at astonishing speed.
All Orion did was cross his forearms in front of his face.
BAM—!
The ground shattered from the sheer force of Thalos’ kick colliding with Orion’s guard.
The impact alone spoke volumes about the power behind it—and even so, it only forced Orion back three inches.
Crackle—!
Turning his head slightly, Orion spotted twenty lightning arrows racing toward him in a blur.
’Honestly, this is becoming troublesome.’
He shoved Thalos’ leg aside, flinging the gargoyle backward and creating an opening for Fenrir’s assault to strike.
Unfortunately for them, it didn’t.
Orion swung his arm upward from below, his palms open.
Visible yellow Ki surged from the earth like a rising waterfall.
It collided with the lightning arrows, annihilating them instantly as the ground absorbed the brunt of the explosive backlash.
A sharp whistling sound came from behind Orion.
Without looking, he tilted his head at just the right moment, allowing Thalos’ sword to fly past his face, the blade dragging a violent gust of wind in its wake.
Pivoting smoothly, Orion blocked a punch from the gargoyle.
Then, with a precise sidestep, he avoided another strike.
From that point onward, the battlefield became a blur of motion between the two warriors as they danced across the arena with deadly finesse.
A weave. A duck. A tilt of the head. A block followed by a counter.
The sequence repeated over and over, thunderous impacts reverberating through the air with every exchange.
Neither combatant bore a single scratch.
An uppercut shot toward Orion’s chin at blistering speed.
He simply arched his entire body backward, narrowly evading the blow before springing away to avoid the immediate follow-up.
As he hovered midair, his hand moved behind his back—
Clang—!
A metallic sound rang out.
Looking closer, one would see Thalos’ sword now firmly grasped in Orion’s hand—held by the blade itself, just moments before it would have struck him.
"What? Did you think I would forget the special effect of this sword? The ability for it to be called back into your hands?"
With a shake of his head and a faint smirk, Ki coursed through the hand gripping the blade.
Then, with explosive force, Orion hurled the sword back toward Thalos.
Immediately after, he leaped to the side to evade a rain of lightning arrows descending from the sky.
Thalos, on the other hand, drove his sword into the ground with a powerful punch, causing it to plough through the earth as though slicing through butter.
Only for Orion to close the distance between them in a heartbeat, a longsword formed from Ki arcing upward toward the gargoyle from below.
Without a shred of hesitation, Thalos punched the incoming blade aside with his gauntleted fist, then tilted his head slightly to dodge yet another Ki-forged sword slashing toward him from Orion’s other hand.
With fluid precision, Thalos countered. One hand smacked away Orion’s weapon—
Then, with a sharp twirl, his arm reversed behind him before smashing forward into Orion’s chest with every ounce of strength he possessed.
BAM—!
The ground fractured beneath them, a deep crevice splitting open as Orion was sent sliding backward like a car out of control.
Fenrir’s opportunity.
Dipping his hand into his pocket, he pulled out a parchment and began chanting rapidly while infusing it with Ki.
He flung it into the air.
It streaked toward Orion at blistering speed.
Midair, it erupted into a storm of razor-sharp wind blades that rained down upon him.
Without flinching, Orion coated his hands in Ki and began swatting the wind blades aside as though brushing away insects.
His movements were smooth and astonishingly swift—so fast that it almost appeared as though he were phasing through the attacks entirely.
And all the while, he continued sliding backward from the impact of Thalos’ punch.
Finally, digging his feet into the ground, he forced himself to a grinding halt just as the barrage from above ceased and the parchment disintegrated into nothingness.
Thalos pulled his greatsword free from the earth, gripping it tightly as he glared daggers at Orion.
Orion wiped his lips with the sleeve of his robe, his gaze locked onto Thalos even though his back was turned toward Fenrir.
Not that it mattered.
He could sense everything around him effortlessly.
"Ready for round two?" Thalos asked, lifting his sword and pointing it directly at the man.
Orion didn’t respond.
He simply raised a hand and gestured casually—
’Bring it on.’
BOOOM—!
Thalos exploded from his position, rocketing toward Orion as the next round began.
