Magus Supremacy-Chapter 856: Annihilation!
Chapter 856
Annihilation!
Total Obliteration!
That was the only way to describe the wake of Grey’s concentrated fury.
Under the crushing weight of his mass attack, the entire coliseum came crashing down, colossal chunks of masonry flying in every conceivable direction.
The very terrain crumbled and buckled, unable to withstand the atmospheric pressure of the onslaught.
Waves of dust rose like tidal surges while shattered rocks billowed into the air with violent force.
The grandeur of the coliseum was no more; nothing remained of the structure except for a few jagged sections of the spectator stands still clinging to their foundations.
The members of the Midnight Sun Clan, who had been gathered there only a heartbeat ago, had vanished.
They were obliterated by the sheer scale of Grey’s offense, caught by the elemental projectiles and reduced to ash almost instantaneously.
Fortunately, the Supreme Magus’ allies remained safe and sound.
He had meticulously directed the chaos, ensuring the attack never touched a single friend.
For those positioned dangerously close to the blast zones, he had manifested thick earth domes, shielding them from any residual shockwaves or stray shrapnel.
However, the primary target of this localized apocalypse could not be seen through the thick, swirling veil of debris.
Seconds stretched into grueling minutes as Grey hovered in place, waiting and watching with predatory focus.
Slowly, the dust began to settle, revealing the epicenter of the carnage where Orion had stood a moment prior.
The area was shattered to splinters, the terrain splintered under the mage’s absolute fury.
Giant craters littered the ground like a chaotic rabbit hole, deep and jagged.
Yet, the one for whom this destruction was intended was nowhere to be seen.
It appeared as though every single attack had missed him entirely.
No matter how intensely they searched the ruins, Orion was gone.
It was as if he had simply vanished from existence.
Confusion rippled through the survivors; they knew Grey had saturated the entire area with magic.
There was logically no way Orion could have avoided being caught in the crossfire.
And yet, it seemed he had escaped the trap in the nick of time.
The cataclysmic shockwave that had leveled the coliseum wasn’t even enough to draw Finral’s attention.
He continued to sob quietly where he sat, his spirit broken.
Since the physical destruction hadn’t reached his specific corner of the ruins, he didn’t care.
He assumed the noise was merely another shockwave from the ongoing duel, not a world-altering elemental bombardment.
He didn’t even bother to lift his head, his mind trapped in a loop of family memories as a slow, poisonous anger began to bubble in his chest.
***
Still hovering in the sky, a sharp frown creased Grey’s forehead.
He snapped his head to the left with reflexive speed, throwing his arms up in front of his face just in time.
An obsidian portal had yawned open in the air before him.
Orion burst from the dark rift, his claws lashing toward the mage’s face with terrifying velocity.
BAM—!
The claws struck Grey’s forearms with such monumental force that his eyes widened in momentary shock.
Before he could be flung out of the sky like a ragdoll, he vanished, utilizing his spatial magic to reposition instantly.
Two of the giant wind birds reappeared behind Orion’s new position.
From their wings, a thousand wind swords screamed toward the hybrid’s back with deadly speed.
Spinning around almost instantly, the creature swung his claws in a wide, savage arc.
A black slash of Ki erupted from the motion, rushing forward to smash into the swords and annihilate them all.
Leo’s eyes widened in sheer horror at the sight.
"Shit. He can still use Ki in this form?"
Rivock scowled, his gaze fixed on the dark energy.
"But it looks corrupted. It’s pitch black instead of the usual yellow."
Another shockwave thundered out, scattering debris like autumn leaves in a gale.
Reappearing on the fractured ground, Grey glared into the sky.
In response to his gaze, two massive lightning pillars screamed down from the clouds, aiming for Orion’s head at a blazing velocity.
But right before their eyes, Orion moved with the speed of light itself.
He reappeared in an entirely different spot, effortlessly avoiding the pillars that proceeded to tear the ground further apart, causing jagged sparks of electricity to rumble through the earth.
BANG—!
Orion was now before Grey, crossing the distance between them within a split second.
His jaws opened wide, rushing toward the mage’s head at a deadly speed.
But right at that moment, Grey teleported from the area, causing the hybrid’s jaws to snap shut with a loud, echoing crack against the empty air.
In the Supreme Magus’ place, a portal yawned open.
Thalos shot out of the rift, his greatsword hauled forward and smashing into Orion’s face with all the strength the gargoyle could muster. 𝐟𝐫𝕖𝗲𝘄𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝕧𝐞𝚕.𝕔𝕠𝐦
But the hit did nothing. It did not even move the hybrid an inch.
Swooosh—!
Orion’s claws descended from above in a savage counter-attack, which forced Thalos to immediately lift his massive blade above his head.
One hand supported the middle of the steel while the second gripped the guard with all his might.
BAM—!
The claws landed with the force of a double freight train, causing the terrain to buckle under their collective weight.
A loud, sickening crack echoed through the ruins of the coliseum, causing Thalos to let out a pained yelp as his stone hands threatened to crumble to pieces under the pressure.
Just in time, a fiery dragon appeared on Orion’s flank, exhaling a huge stream of concentrated flames toward the hybrid.
Quickly leaping away, Orion watched as the streams of fire crashed into the ground, melting the stone immediately into slag.
With a fluid swing of his leg, a slash of black Ki surged out, smashing into the fire dragon and causing the construct to evaporate almost instantly.
A cloud of dust appeared in his line of vision. Cutting through the haze was Grey, with Clara gripped firmly in his hand.
Thick mist seeped from the mage’s nostrils as his breathing synchronized with his power.
"Wind wheel."
Swinging Clara in a wide arc, a spinning wheel of condensed wind burst out.
It smashed into Orion’s face with immense force, sending the hybrid skidding backward for a second or so.
Directly behind the beast, gleaming with volatile energy, a thousand lightning arrows screamed forward with deadly speed and power.
Orion glared at Grey, feeling the lightning attack closing in.
He smiled, straightening his posture as if the whole ordeal didn’t phase him at all.
Then, with a velocity that made it seem as if he had teleported, Orion moved out of the way almost instantly.
The lightning arrows were now heading Grey’s way, completely unobstructed.
But before they could strike their creator, a portal opened in front of them, swallowing the bolts whole.
With a stoic look on his face, Grey swung his hands through the air.
A portal appeared directly before Orion the very moment the hybrid’s feet touched the ground.
From that rift, the same arrows he had just avoided smashed into his chest with incredible force, causing a deafening sonic boom to ring out across the battlefield.
