Magus Supremacy-Chapter 883: Borfan’s Strength (1)
Chapter 883
Borfan glanced at the sky for a moment to see that the once sunny expanse was now choked with dark, roiling storm clouds raging overhead.
Lightning could be seen crawling across their bruised surfaces, accompanied by occasional, deafening bangs that echoed from their depths.
The ground beneath them was shuddering violently as raw energy flooded the mage.
His hair rose defiantly above his shoulders, and his eyes glowed with a molten, brilliant white light.
Crackling arcs of lightning danced around his limbs, coalescing to form a pair of jagged gauntlets and boots of pure electrical current upon his body.
Deep fissures had already spider-webbed through the earth beneath his feet from the sheer pressure of the transformation.
A visible, radiant white glow now surrounded the mage’s frame, proving he had transcended to another level of power and was prepared to push the fight into a new, more dangerous territory.
"That’s all?" Borfan mocked with a dismissive tilt of his head.
Grey didn’t offer a reply.
Instead, he simply kicked off the earth beneath him, a move that launched him forward with explosive force, aiding him in crossing the ten-meter distance within the blink of an eye.
Without hesitation, a bright beam of concentrated lightning began fizzling around the mage’s hands.
He jabbed forward, unleashing the powerful attack toward the warrior, who stared at the oncoming bolt with a calm, indifferent expression.
Then, with a fluid spin of his body, Borfan avoided the beam, which tore through the ground behind him, ripping the terrain to shreds.
With the momentum of that spin, Borfan appeared directly beside the mage, ready to send a devastating roundhouse kick flying toward his head.
At that exact moment, a thunderous bang echoed from the sky, drawing the warrior’s gaze upward just in time to see a massive pillar of lightning screaming toward him with full force and terminal speed.
"Oh," Borfan uttered before being forced to dash away from the impact zone just in time.
The pillar ripped into the ground like a hot knife cutting through soft butter.
Chunks of debris and dust billowed into the air all around the Supreme Magus, who didn’t even bat an eyelid at the destruction.
Spinning on his heels, he swung his hands into the air a dozen times, unleashing a barrage of invisible Ki fists which shot toward Borfan in a blur of motion.
The warrior couldn’t see them, but he could certainly feel the displacement of air as he began tilting his head from left to right, narrowly avoiding the phantom strikes which crashed into the atmosphere behind him.
The moment the last one was evaded, Grey darted forward with overwhelming speed, closing the gap between them in a mere fraction of a second.
A lightning spear manifested in one hand and an earth spike in the other, both of which he swung toward the warrior, who met the dual assault with a callous expression.
Grey swung them from both sides, hoping to effectively corner the man.
But with a surprising show of agility, Borfan ducked under both weapons before bashing his palms into the mage’s gut with crushing, internal force.
Grey was sent sliding backward across the dust, saliva dribbling down from the corner of his mouth as he struggled for air.
Clenching his jaws against the pain, he prepared to launch forward once more.
But before he had the chance to stabilize himself, Borfan had already flashed in front of him, a Ki sword gleaming in his hand and ready to split the Supreme Magus’s skull.
With wide eyes, Grey quickly expanded the distance between them through the use of his spatial magic.
This caused the Ki sword to miss its mark, instead tearing through the ground as if a blade from the heavens itself had fallen.
From his new, distant position, Grey suddenly began... dancing?
He was moving awkwardly, his feet tapping rhythmically at different spots on the parched earth.
He shifted from one point to the next in a strange, deliberate flow of movement.
Borfan was about to mock the seemingly desperate move, until the ground began erupting continuously.
From the shattered earth, long, jagged spears burst out, aiming to impale the warrior’s feet.
The warrior was forced to begin leaping from side to side, dodging the relentless earth spears that shot from the ground at him like a forest of rising needles.
The earth suddenly surged around the Supreme Magus, turning into a surfboard of some sort that launched him at the warrior with tremendous, sliding speed.
Kicking off from the earthen platform, his hand gleamed with a metallic sheen; settling into his grasp was Clara.
Ki flooded the cold steel while he descended from above with a crushing, vertical swing of the blade.
Borfan was taken off guard for a brief moment as he quickly leaned his head backward, assuming the attack was headed in that direction.
Only for Grey to suddenly flip the sword, catching the guard while the tip was now pointed directly at the warrior’s chest and sent hauling in that direction at a terrifying velocity.
Borfan’s eyes widened as the lethal point was now a mere inch away from reaching his sternum.
Immediately, he shot back to his full height; in one fluid, violent movement, he bashed his own forehead into Grey’s, causing the parched terrain beneath them to rupture yet again from the impact.
The Supreme Magus was sent flying backward with immense momentum, but with his jaw tightly clenched, the earth rose behind him.
It formed a sturdy wall that broke his flight, allowing him to slide down the stone surface to the ground.
Before he could even think of catching his ragged breath, Borfan was already before him, a mountain-shattering punch shooting towards his unprotected face.
With all the speed the mage could possibly muster, he managed to spring off to the side, dodging the hit by the absolute skin of his teeth.
The moment the warrior’s fist touched the earth wall that the mage had conjured to break his fall, the structure crumbled to the ground like a fragile stack of cards.
Following a sharp roll and a spring back to his feet, Grey hurled his hands downward.
He unleashed four massive lightning pillars from the roiling clouds onto the warrior, who stood staring at the illuminating lights reflecting on his face.
With a casual wave of his hands, a massive pressure suddenly erupted outwardly, bashing into the lightning pillars and causing them to split apart in a chaotic rain of sparks.
This display of raw power wasn’t about to discourage the Supreme Magus as he darted forward like a broken arrow released from a bow.
He closed the distance between him and the warrior, ready to unleash a final attack, only for him to notice a microscopic twitch in the warrior’s limbs—as if the man were already prepared to dodge.
Quickly changing his tactics, Grey decided to adopt Kira’s specialized technique.
Ki flooded his legs, and then he began darting in a frantic blur all around the warrior’s position.
He didn’t immediately attack; he just kept dashing around the man with immense, flickering speed, leaving Borfan to remain rooted in one spot.
The warrior didn’t even attempt to turn around to search for the mage or his magical signature.
He just waited, biding his time while witnessing streaks of lightning blurring around him, a sight which could easily confuse most people on which image was the real deal.
Then,
Wooosh—!
Feeling like the perfect opportunity had finally appeared, Grey bolted forward with every ounce of speed in his body, ready to unleash a devastating finishing blow.
The next moment, Borfan tilted his head in his direction with uncanny agility.
The warrior immediately grabbed the mage by the neck, halting his entire momentum in a single, brutal motion.
Twirling around with the mage still trapped in his iron grasp, Borfan hammered him back into the hard ground, causing the terrain to buckle and crater under the sheer force of the slam.
Crimson sprayed from Grey’s mouth as he proceeded to choke on his own blood, the world spinning in a haze of pain and dust.
