Malevolent Warlock: Sin Of Eternity-Chapter 271: Aftermath
The moment the city was taken over by the Blood Serpent Clan, the Celestial Merchant Group spread out its tentacles in an instant, abruptly pushing out 70% of the booster production farms from the city.
This was a strategic move because, in so doing, they created a market for the supply of boosters authenticated by the Celestial Merchant Group themselves.
"Anyway, I have what you asked for," Franklin said calmly before tossing a rock the size of a basketball onto the table. "It was very hard to get that… sigh, such an ordinary rock."
Seeing the rock, Leon, who sat opposite Franklin, smiled and stretched his hand forward to caress it. It had been quite a while since he laid hands on one of the treasures of the sea. It was beautiful.
"Thank you, Brother Franklin, but this can’t be all, right?" Leon smiled at Franklin and asked. This wasn’t their first meetup during these few months. They had met many times, and without fail, Franklin had tried to swindle him out of the recipe for the Blood Misty Lily.
Although they had acquired 70% of BloodRock City’s booster farms, they still didn’t have the recipe for their most prized product, the Blood Misty Lily.
It was such a hit that clans from the surrounding areas had begun to frequent the city just because of it. The pressure was becoming worse by the minute. They needed to learn the recipe so they could mass-produce it.
But this old bastard was incredibly hard to find and even harder to convince. He only appeared when he wanted something.
"I’m sick of trying. I know you’ll never give it up," Franklin shook his head. "But what I will ask for is a higher supply. We’re willing to give you some land to cultivate more."
They couldn’t find where Leon was farming his boosters either; it was quite frustrating. This old man was much more slippery than he had anticipated.
"I don’t need more land. I have enough." Leon’s wrinkly face curled into a smile as he received tea from the waitress.
What did he need land from Franklin for? He was a member of the Blood Serpent Clan. The entire city was his canvas. Of course, Franklin didn’t know that.
"However, your plea for more product has been heard. You’ll get something big soon." With the corner of his eye, Leon noticed several carriages being rolled down the street as if it had nothing to do with him.
This, of course, made Franklin focus on the carriages, trying to see what they were carrying.
"Here’s the next list. When you bring this to me, I’ll see what I can do about increasing your supply." Leon smiled before passing a piece of paper over to Franklin, then turning around to leave abruptly.
Staying too long around Franklin was a sure way to break his cover. Even now, he didn’t fully understand the extent of the Celestial Merchant Group’s power.
"Sigh," Franklin watched Leon leave and sighed. At least he got a higher supply. This would at least be enough to satiate the hunger of the other clans.

A few hundred meters away from the tavern, Leon turned a corner into an alleyway and emerged inside a courtyard far from the alley.
"Hehe, finally running at full speed again," Leon smiled, looking calmly at the gate behind him.

The conquest of BloodRock City didn’t go without bloodshed, and Leon had used the bulk of the bloodshed, coupled with some treasures he got through Franklin, to re-energize Badur’s Gates.
Not only did it work normally now, but it had also started to slowly unlock its other perks. For example, short-distance teleportation—or as Leon called it, "Gate Travel."
"Hm? Who are you?" As Leon stood admiring the gate, he heard a familiar voice behind him, causing him to flinch.
"Supreme Leader!!" He immediately went into a bow and caused Badur’s Gate to disappear. He wasn’t expecting Nephron to be at his home at this time.
"Oh, it’s you," Nephron nodded, realizing who was in front of him, while staring intently at the gate that had just disappeared before his eyes.
"By the way, it’s City Lord now," Nephron remarked, panning his gaze away as he sipped tea from a plastic cup in front of him.
He was currently having tea with Arian, Ember, and Liana. He had naturally come looking for Leon, but since he had gone out for a stroll, Nephron decided to wait.
As the City Lord of BloodRock City, naturally no one could tell him no, so Arian let him in. She didn’t know Leon would be using Badur’s Gate to come back.
"Ahh, yes, Suprem—City Lord," Leon quickly corrected himself and walked forward. His face was back to normal, and Nephron didn’t seem surprised that Leon could do that since he knew Leon was a sorcerer.
Sorcerers could do a lot of things, and someone as old as Nephron naturally knew most of them.
"Join us," Nephron invited Leon to sit quite naturally, despite it being Leon’s home.
"With pleasure," Leon replied. He was still a bit spooked by the Supreme Leader’s presence in his home, so he wasn’t quick to ask questions. He simply came forward and grabbed a cup of tea, which had strangely been kept for him, even though he hadn’t been there previously.
"How’s running the city, Lordship?" Leon asked awkwardly across the table.
"It’s fine. No rebellions or anything," Nephron replied. Of course, that was a given. Who would dare rebel against a Level 5 existence? With a swipe of his hand, he could easily kill them all.
But Nephron wasn’t the type to rely solely on strength. He had meticulously removed power from the hands of those more susceptible to trickery and bribery, replacing them—even within their own clans—with his puppets.
It was as if he had been planning this for years.
"What about you? How’s the booster business?" Nephron asked with a knowing smile.
Was there really anything that could happen in the city without his knowledge? Especially something involving one of his prized pupils?
