Manaless Mage-Chapter 267: Kronos’ accurate calculations!
Chapter 267: Kronos’ accurate calculations!
Kronos watched intently as the green particles continued to swirl around where Leon previously stood, his expression unreadable.
The celestial’s earlier smirk had long faded from his face, turning into a slight frown. This was an important moment, and he knew it.
’That could have been dangerous...’ He thought, remembering what Leon was about to unleash before he interfered. ’I really got too carried away, how embarrassing.’
"You’re wiping off his existence..." Vordmont suddenly said, pulling him out of his thoughts. His tone wasn’t flat, yet a little tinge of uncertainty dripped from his words.
Kronos gave a slight nod in response, his gaze never leaving the vanishing green specks.
"Yeah... that’s the best way," he replied, his voice cold and detached, like what he was doing was completely normal.
Vordmont’s brow furrowed, a little troubled by his answer.
He crossed his arms over his chest, his eyes narrowing as he observed the lingering green particles in the air.
"Wouldn’t that be risky though?" he asked with concern. "I mean... erasing him just means another one would just rise up in his place."
Kronos didn’t immediately respond, and he simply kept staring into space.
Vordmont was right, and he knew that better than anyone. Erasing Leon from existence sure came with risks, however, he had already weighed everything before making his move.
A strange glint flashed through the space celestial’s eyes, feeling slightly annoyed at the silence.
He still felt a little terrible that they had to resort to such cowardly methods to defeat Leon.
After all, he was the one who previously accused him of using an underhanded move to defeat him, before claiming they should have one final clash, which would determine the winner.
He clenched his fists, his brows furrowing into a slight frown.
Orthon’s sudden attack on Leon had left a bitter taste in his mouth, and he couldn’t help but feel that his honour had taken a huge blow.
It made him seem like couldn’t stand by his words, someone willing to resort to cowardly tactics to achieve victory, and that wasn’t really the kind of person he was.
Though there were indeed times when he did use cowardly tactics, there was hardly any time when he went back on his words.
What he thought was that they would fight Leon, and then kill him, he hadn’t even known about the presence of Orthon until he struck from behind.
Kronos’s gaze slowly shifted away from the empty air and landed on Vordmont.
He could easily notice the internal struggle going on within his mind, as Vordmont had never been one who excelled at hiding his feelings.
What he was thinking was practically written all over his face.
Vordmont was a warrior, through and through, but he was also someone who valued honor and integrity.
That was also why they didn’t tell him about the plan beforehand, because if they did, he would surely refuse to participate.
"Don’t give me that look, I know he had to die." He muttered, scoffing under his breath.
Despite how he felt about everything, he knew better than anyone that Leon had to be eliminated.
The power of a manaless mage was just too dangerous... too dangerous to be left alive.
If they did nothing about him, he would only come grow stronger, until he disrupts the balance they had tried so hard to maintain.
Besides, if not for Orthon’s intervention, he would have surely lost his life in that clash, just as Cierla did.
But nonetheless, if they wanted to kill someone like that, they would have to be very thorough with it.
They didn’t have the luxury of making any mistake, as a mistake like that would be very fatal to them.
Kronos’ lips curled into a slight smile, and he slowly nodded his head in agreement.
He knew how high the stakes were, all it would take them for everything to crumble was one wrong move... one slight miscalculation.
However, he has already planned for every possible outcome, so he was very sure of what he was doing.
"Since you’re erasing his existence from time... it means that he never became the manaless mage," Vordmont spoke once more, his mind racing with the implications of what could happen if that was a mistake.
"But if he was never the manaless mage... then who became the manaless mage instead?" He asked, finally dropping the big question that was puzzling him.
While he seemed like a person who couldn’t think on his own, Vordmont’s mind was actually very sharp, especially when it came to matters that could potentially endanger his life.
Although he trusted Kronos, he couldn’t shake off the feeling that they were making a mistake. One that could come back to bite them in the figure.
His worry seemed little on the surface, but the unpredictability of time and fate was a dangerous game to play.
Kronos could see the worry in Vordmont’s eyes, and he understood it.
This wasn’t just about defeating an enemy anymore... it was about him altering the very fabric of reality.
"I get how you feel, Vordmont, but don’t worry," Kronos said, his voice calm and reassuring. "All of this has been thoroughly planned by me!"
His lips curled into a slight smile, his eyes gleaming with confidence.
"If this manaless mage never existed... then which one did? I already know the answer... to all of that." He continued, clenching his fists with unwavering resolve.
"That’s going to be our next mission... to kill this ’new’ manaless mage. It’s going to be very easy, trust me." Kronos’ confidence wasn’t misplaced. He had already made countless plans, run countless scenarios in his mind.
Each move he took had already been calculated, so he wasn’t just acting rashly.
His calculations weren’t just baseless predictions, they were gotten after carefully observing different ’points’ in time.
Whether it was in the past or the future, it was all within his grasp!
A new manaless mage would definitely appear in Leon’s place, but Kronos had already anticipated that.
And he knew that this new mage wouldn’t be from this planet. That was why his plan was foolproof, because after this, he was doing to destroy this planet.
It would be wiped out of existence, ensuring that no new life could ever rise from its ashes.
As for where the new manaless mage would appear, that too was within his calculations.
He knew exactly where to find them, and he knew they would still be weak, unprepared, which was why they had to strike fast.
Killing them would be as easy as breathing, and with that, he would finally put an end to the endless cycle of manaless mage.
It was practically a win-win for him and the rest of the celestials!
"Fine... I trust you," Vordmont said, brushing the thought off his mind.
Orthon, who had been silent throughout the exchange, also nodded his head agreement. He didn’t say anything, but his eyes showed that he fully understood what was going on.
Kronos turned his attention back to the floating green dots, which had now almost completely disappeared.
However, they still reminded him of the power that had been unleashed here.
Leon’s existence was finally erased, his very being wiped from time itself. And soon, it would be as if he had never existed at all.
But as Kronos watched, he couldn’t shake the feeling that something was off.
He had planned for everything, calculated every move, but as he watched the last remnants of green particles fade away, he couldn’t help but wonder if he had truly accounted for everything.

Leon’s eyes slowly opened, narrowing in confusion at the sight before him.
He felt like his body was falling... slowly sinking to the bottom of an endless river. It was a strange sensation, however, he didn’t resist it.
’But... what is this place? Is this how it feels... to die?’ He thought.
All that was around him were ’white’, which slightly pulsed with a strange energy.
He couldn’t see his body, neither did he feel like he had one even.
Everything just felt numb... and he couldn’t help but feel an odd sense of relief wash over him.
However, just as quickly as that relief came, it vanished from his mind.
He suddenly started fighting back against the strange force pulling him down.
But since he didn’t have a body, it was extremely difficult... pointless even.
Despite all he did to resist, his ’body’ didn’t budge, and he only felt himself getting pulled even faster.
’Kronos...’ He thought, images of everything that had happened rapidly flashing through his mind.
’A time skill that could attack someone many years in the past... how cowardly!’ He thought, feeling even angrier at how pathetically he had been eliminated.
Defending against a time attack like that would have been very difficult even if he was in peak condition, talk-less of when he was already severely weakened and on the verge of death.
However, if his strength was still at full capacity, he was sure he would have found a way to counter it for sure.
But unfortunately for him, it wasn’t... so all he could do was die stupidly from the attack, with his existence being erased from earth also.
’Sending an attack to my eight year old self... how much of a coward do you have to be to even think of that?!’ He thought in frustration.
Never had he thought of sending an attack towards the past like that, since it would practically mean he was attacking a defenceless kid.
In a fight, all he focused on was his ’present time’ opponent, not them when they were twenty years younger, or older!
With how weakened he was, how was he supposed to counter that... Kronos really got him good!
But nonetheless, he knew he couldn’t ponder too much on that.
He was wiped out of existence... which could be said to be even worse than death, so no matter how annoyed it made it, it couldn’t change that fact.
