Manaless Mage-Chapter 288 - 2000 Years Prisoner[1]
Chapter 288: 2000 Years Prisoner[1]
As he walked into it, he reappeared in another place; one completely different from the room he was in previously.
The room was yellow, with thin white runes etched around the walls.
Kronos’ eyes narrowed as he fully stepped into the room, the door frame behind him vanishing like it never existed.
Clang!
The sound of heavy chains reverberated across the room, causing Kronos’ brows to furrow into a frown.
He turned his head to the side, the expression on his face darkening even more at the sight before him.
Apart from Kronos, only one other person could be seen in the large room.
It was a man with long, roughened black hair, his head bowed weakly to the ground.
His arms were stretched out to the side, tightly bound by thick black chains the size of an adult male.
Above and below him were two large white Sigils, forming a transparent cylindrical barrier around him.
His legs were also bounded by chains, and an even thicker one was coiled around his torso, making it extremely difficult for him to even move.
Even his neck wasn’t spared, with a large shackle choking him, making it impossible for him to turn his head.
All he could do was kneel weakly on the ground, the chains clanging against each other with each breath he took.
The chains were coiled around each other in a weird formation, connecting to the two large runes above and below him.
"Ugh..." The man grunted, slowly raising his head at Kronos, revealing a pair of glowing blue eyes.
"Ohh look who it is... Kronny." He said, his lips curling into a smirk.
Kronos gritted his teeth at teeth at the sound of his voice, making sure to keep his distance.
"Don’t look at me like that, how long has it been now... since I last saw you?" The man continued, a cold glint flickering within his eyes.
"Four hundred years." He muttered, coughing loudly. "Yeah... it’s been four hundred years."
Kronos tightly clenched his fists, his gaze burning with hate.
"You sure have grown chatty since then." He said, sitting down on empty air.
A yellow chair immediately popped up from the ground, on which he comfortably balanced himself, all the while keeping his attention on the man.
The man smirked, scoffing under his breath.
"Well... being a prisoner for over two thousand years changes some things in you." He said.
"But let’s forget about all that... history. What’s up with you, you seem to have aged a thousand years since last time." He said, letting out a chuckle.
"What happened to the green hair you used to love so much? Look at you now... you’re like a shabby old goat." He continued, pressing Kronos’ weak points with a sinister smirk.
Kronos clenched his teeth, however, he didn’t say anything, only staring at the man in annoyance.
"You’re more annoying also. Let’s do something about that." He said, suddenly snapping his fingers.
Immediately, thin white lines lit up around the black chains, while the magical writings within the sigils shone with an ethereal light.
"Argh..." The man grunted, gnashing his teeth in agony.
Blood suddenly sprayed out of his lips, a huge amount pouring down his eyes and ears.
Szzz!
The blood splattered on the sigil, however, they were immediately evaporated into steam.
The blood on his skin also started heating up, melting deep into his flesh.
Waves of agony coursed through his body, each second of torment worse than the former.
"Arghh!!!" He roared out, pulling violently on the chains binding him.
His body spasmed uncontrollably, but the chains still held him tight, digging into his flesh.
A smile broke out on Kronos’ lips at the man’s torment, and he clicked his tongue.
"That should show you your place." He said, snapping his fingers once again.
In an instant, the white runes around the chains vanished, and the sigils returned to normal.
The man exhaled, his chest heaving as blood dripped from his face.
"Hahaha!" He suddenly burst into a loud laugh, blood pouring down his mouth like water.
Szz!
The blood instantly evaporated when it touched the sigil below him, the steam rising in the air.
"Is threatening me the best choice Kronny? There’s a reason you came to see me isn’t it?" He muttered, coughing out blood once more.
His lips slowly curled into a crazed smile, and his eyes shone with a strange glint.
"I can smell it... the thick aura of death over you." He said, letting out a low chuckle. "You’re dying Kronos... and there’s nothing you can do to stop it."
Kronos’ eyes widened in shock, and his face squeezed into a deep frown.
He thought he had properly masked the injury wracking through his body... but it seemed like it still didn’t escape the man’s senses.
"What is that... a ’time injury’?’ The man said, gasping repeatedly. "Need my help with that?"
"I don’t need your help." Kronos snarked, jerking back up on his feet. "What do you know about this... is this your doing?!"
"My doing?" The man scoffed in reply, clicking his tongue. "I’m chained dumbass, how am I going to do anything to you?"
Kronos’ face darkened, and he clenched his fists so tight that his knuckles turned white.
’There’s no way I’ll mistake it... the person who did this to me was surely a manaless mage. So how come...’ He thought, walking back and forth.
As the god of time, he was supposed to know about everything that happened throughout the timelines.
It didn’t matter whether it was a withered one or a simple branched timeline; nothing could escape his knowledge, which was what made his power truly terrifying!
However... for the first time since being a celestial, there were gaps in his memory about a timeline.
Never before had he experienced something like this, and the amount of power he remembered sensing from that strange man sent chills down his spine.
’Whoever that person was... they were manaless mage.’ He thought, biting his nails.
’A manaless mage... could it be?’ His gaze snapped back to the blue-eyed man in front of him, and a strange glint flashed through his eyes.
