Manaless Mage-Chapter 291: Deteriorating Relationship
Chapter 291: Deteriorating Relationship
For him, the world academy tournament wasn’t just a completion, it was an opportunity for him to compare his current power with that of the true geniuses in the world.
It was also a chance to complete quests, gaining EXP, stats points and even skill points, while also getting used to his new strength.
Though he doubted there would be any Elementalist below the fifth stage who could stand up to him, he was still curious to see how they would fare against him.
It was also one of the reasons why he didn’t use up all his stat points, aiming to use them after the tournament.
’I better get ready.’ Harry thought, clicking his tongue in annoyance.
Though he already knew he had to get dressed for the upcoming event, a part of him still felt like sleeping some more.

A few minutes later...
Harry stood in front of a medium sized mirror in his room, staring at his reflection with a proud smile on his face.
He was putting on a smart black and gold uniform, which had the symbol of Vane academy bold embedded at the side.
The uniform was mostly black, with sharp golden lines running along the sides.
His dark brown hair was a little ruffled, falling like waves across the sides of the face.
However, they did nothing to hinder his handsome face, even accentuating it even further.
He was putting on a pair of black contact lenses, which concealed his shining blue eyes.
Though he didn’t originally plan on hiding his true eye colour from people, he eventually did so in order to avoid unnecessary questions.
The world might have evolved with magic and technology, but people’s eyes didn’t just change colours for no reason.
He would have to come up with an explanation for how his eyes suddenly changed, and that would only complicate things for him.
’At least... it’s better this way.’ Harry mumbled inwardly, gently placing a hand over his left eye.
All because he was weak, he was forced to hide his true strength and even appearance from others.
It was very annoying, but unfortunately, he didn’t have much of a choice... unless he wanted to be persecuted by the AMO.
’All this will change... I’ll make sure of it.’ He thought, clenching his hands into a fist.
However, he pushed the matter to the back of his mind for now, as it would only serve as a distraction during the tournament.
After sorting out all he needed to do, he finally walked out of the room.
He stepped into a large hallway, with doors lined up at the sides, each one leading to different rooms.
"Oh, Harry!" A loud voice suddenly called out to him, prompting him to turn his head to the side.
His gaze met with that of Nathan, who was emerging from a door at the other end, clad in the same black and gold uniform of the academy.
The combat mage’s lips curled into a smirk, and he eagerly waved his hand as he approached Harry.
"You’re ready also." He said, tucking a hand into his pocket.
Harry simply nodded, his brows furrowing slightly.
"What about the others?" He asked.
Nathan signed, placing a palm over his head.
"The girls have gone to train, the only person delaying us now is Trent." Nathan said, shaking his head as he clicked his tongue.
During the past month, the academy placed all the tournament participants in a large training facility provided by the AMO.
The facility contained far better equipments compared to the academy, and provided the students with quality, dense mana which greatly assisted in their growth.
With these facilities, breaking through became a lot easier, as long as one trained diligently.
"Huh?" Harry muttered, a deep crease forming between his brows. "Trent?"
’What’s he up to now?’ He thought, the expression on his face deepening even further.
During the last four months, his relationship with Trent had greatly deteriorated.
The problem wasn’t from his side as he simply ignored the Elementalist whenever he was throwing his tantrums.
However, it seemed like all his indifference did was annoy Trent even more.
One fateful day, he suddenly spiralled out of control, blasting a powerful spell at Harry.
Fortunately, he had already grown much stronger than before, so he was easily able to deflect the attack.
The walls and floors of the training ground were also very strong, having being reinforced by numerous artefacts, so the spell of a stage three Elementalist didn’t leave any damage on it.
But the same couldn’t be said about Trent, who charged at Harry in a fit of rage, launching spells after spells.
However, the instructors around interfered quickly, pulling him away from Harry before the fight escalated even further.
Ever since that day, Harry never saw Trent again, as the instructors made sure to keep them very far away from each other.
After that day, Trent was moved to another room and placed under strong supervision to prevent such an incident from ever occurring again. ƒreeωebnovel.ƈom
Usually, such an incident would get one expelled.
However, since Trent was such a vital student in the upcoming tournament, the academy simply brushed over it like it wasn’t such a big deal.
Harry didn’t seem like he was bothered much by what happened also, so the matter was quickly buried into the ground.
"Yeah... are you sure you’re okay though?" Nathan asked, jolting him out of his thoughts.
His brows furrowed slightly, easily picking up on Harry’s weird change in countenance.
However, he could somewhat understand what was going through his mind.
After all, it was known that Harry and Trent were brothers, even though they weren’t close at all.
While he didn’t have a brother, he understood how painful it must have felt for Harry to see his own blood attack him like a wild animal.
Unbeknownst to him, what was going through Harry’s mind was very far from what he thought.
’I just hope... it’s not what I’m thinking.’ Harry thought, releasing a low sigh.
"I’m okay." Harry replied, his frown vanishing within an instant, replaced by a light smile.
"Ohh..." Nathan replied, slightly nodding his head.
"We still have a few minutes before we leave, wanna spar before then?!" He asked, his eyes shining with glee.
"No." Harry replied, pouring cold water on his excitement.
During the past four months, Nathan had challenged him to countless spars, most which he bluntly turned down.
The few spars they indeed had, ended up with him claiming the victory, and very easily at that.
However, despite that, Nathan didn’t relent, challenging him to a fight over and over again.
"Ohh... no problem then." Nathan muttered, his shoulders drooping in disappointment.
"Then I’ll see you later." He said, walking away from Harry.
Harry simply nodded, his brows furrowing into a slight frown.
’Trent... what exactly is going on with you?’ He mumbled inwardly, clenching his fists.
