Chapter 249: She isn’t safe

Vixen exhaled sharply before speaking, "I am aware that Enim isn’t the only individual Mia has targeted. Who else has she asked about?" Vixen inquired icily, his eyes unwavering, as if he was prepared to draw the man’s blood at any moment.

"Come on, don’t wait any more," Vixen urged with a hint of impatience.

"She instructed me to eliminate someone nearby, the IMF agent."

"Why was that?" Vixen asked coolly, catching the man off guard as he hadn’t anticipated the follow-up question.

Furthermore, how could he possibly discern the motives of the individual who assigned him the task?

His sole focus in this situation was to complete the assassination and receive his payment.

Vixen was unnerved by his unsettling silence and, growing impatient, fired a shot into the man’s leg. The man let out a terrible growl, but to muffle the sound, an inmate quickly covered his mouth with a piece of cloth.

"I’ve told you already; I’m serious. I’m too frustrated right now to handle any nonsense from you," Vixen remarked to the man, observing as the bald-headed individual reached for his leg with a look of agony on his face.

After some time, Vixen rose to finish the man off, but the man lifted his hand, begging Vixen to spare him.

"You’ve got only one task," Vixen told him, as the gag was pulled away from his mouth.

The man groaned in pain before speaking to Vixen, "Mia Justin is a fanatical and restless woman; for eight years, she pushed me to eliminate her foes."

"I understand, let’s get right to it."

"Miss Mia assured me during our first meeting that she intended to have someone eliminated. She requested that I procure a firearm for her intended target, a woman, and that’s exactly what I did. Believe me, Sir, that’s what I did," the man admitted, as Vixen’s eyebrow arched skeptically.

"When exactly did this incident take place?"

"Approximately a decade ago, sir," the man admitted, causing Vixen to hold his breath. This implied that the man might have been the one who purchased the gun Mia used to kill Prudence.

Unaware of what transpired afterward, as the man focused on his wounded leg, he sensed Vixen lift his head before Vixen shook it vigorously.

"You’re going to complete a task for me, and your survival in this prison depends on it," Vixen informed him.

"W-what task? I’ll do it," the man responded, gratitude evident on his face as he realized he had been given a second chance after such a dire situation.

"Alright then, you’ll be present at my court hearing. Understood?"

"But, what am I supposed to do?"

"Relax, I’ve already contacted your lawyer. They’ll explain everything to you, not me."

"Alright, sir. Whatever you decide," the bald man consented, and with a grin, Vixen gently patted his cheek.

"That’s a good boy," Vixen said to the man while he watched the man nod his head.

Soon after, Vixen returned back to his former position as he rested his head on the bed watching the below part of the bed on top of his.

He tapped his leg on the pillar of the bed, obviously listening to soft growls of the bald-headed man who was left on the ground while the other two inmates returned to do some casual activities.

For a moment Vixen could endure the sound of the man growling but then it began to sound horrible.

"Could you stop that sound?" Vixen said irritated to the man, he watched as the man lower his head patiently.

Vixen relaxed on the bed, feeling a little bit at peace than he had ever felt before but then just at the next moment, the bars of the room disrupted the silence in the room.

Vixen raised his head to see that it was the officials of the detention that had come in, just as they walked in they noticed the sight of the room looking at the bald-headed man who began to have the audacity to growl in pain so they could notice the blood that began to drop out of his leg.

"What is going on here?" One of the two officials said to the inmates, their gaze looking fierce and then the one who spoke lowered his head to stare at the baldheaded man on the ground.

"You, what happened to your leg?" The official asked just for the baldheaded man to point his hand at Vixen.

While he did that, Vixen couldn’t help but smirk but the audacity of the man.

Now he had the energy to point at him.

The official stared at Vixen for a while, and then at the very next moment, he walked to the other official who stood in front of the bar gate requesting him to do something.

At the next moment, the same official came forward and then spoke to Vixen; "You, you’re going with us."

Vixen raised an eyebrow but then he obediently stood up his bed just for the official to walk towards him and then handcuffed Vixen.

They walked out the cell and then Vixen was directed out of the room while the nurses at the detention walked into the room to get the baldheaded man treated.

For a while he continued to walk not until he walked into a room where it was filled with an office activity. In the center of the room, there was a desk and chair with a man seated on the chair.

His gaze on Vixen, evidently showing Vixen that he had been expecting his arrival.

"Here comes the man of the day, Mr. Vixen," The sheriff on the seat said to Vixen, watching the police man remove the hand cuffs on Vixen’s hand.

Vixen smirked, turning his gaze to the sheriff while he was being attended to.

After a while, the handcuffs on Vixen’s hand were removed, Vixen massage his wrists and then walked towards the seat before the desk.

"It seems I am the special guest of today. Is there anything new that I must know?" Vixen said, he lurched on the seat crossing his legs giving the man a deep stare.

The sheriff raised his eyebrow in a crease, he stared at Vixen with a seriously look and then he sighed, leaning on his table so he could look at Vixen while he conversated with Vixen.

"No, not now. As of the moment were still doing everything according to the plan and we’ve gained the recordings of the man. I’m sure that now he wouldn’t be able to resist our offer."

"Hmm, no matter what he tries to do he wouldn’t be able to resist our plan, he’ll eventually fall into our trap."

"Are you sure that Mia would lead us to everything that we’ve been looking for?" The sheriff asked, Vixen raised his head to stare at him and then he scoffed.

"Why don’t we watch how everything goes, Mia had just stepped her feet into a boiling lava, and I need to make sure that the leg burns before she could remove it," Vixen spoke curtly, his eyes emitting and evident of how boiling he was at the moment.

The sheriff stared at Vixen; he could feel the goosebumps that laid on his body due to his dreading aura.

"And your wife- "the sheriff tried to speak but then when he met Vixen’s gazed, he stopped.

"What happened with her?" Vixen asked, looking impatient and noticing the sheriff was scared to speak to him.

"Well sir, we were able to find out that the cemetery of the catholic church had its own security camera. Well, we discovered that she was kidnapped," the sheriff stated but then at the next moment, he jerked watching Vixen slam his hand on the table violently.

The man stared at Vixen, not expecting to see him get this angry but then he understood Vixen’s reason for getting angry.

Mia was getting out of hand and if they would want to trap her, they have to trap her in her own game. If they could do it then he was reassured that no matter what Mia would try to do, she wouldn’t be able to escape the consequences of what she had done.

Either she faces death punishment, or she ends up in a jail sentence.

"I knew she was going to do this; I knew that Abi wasn’t in safe hands yet," Vixen murmured, his head lowered while he stared at the desk but then after a while, he raised his head to stare at the sheriff.

"But now she has to learn the meaning of what she’d done," Vixen said, he gritted his teeth with fury on his expression.
