Chapter 180: You

Sage squeaked in fear and began to struggle away from Cyrus. "Let me go!" She screamed loudly, and Cyrus immediately let go of her, allowing her to jump out of bed.

She faced him looking almost paranoid, and shakily pointed at him. "I heard your voice!" Cyrus sat comfortably, his legs out of the bed, one on top of the other, and calmly stared at her.

"You did, indeed."

Sage scoffed in disbelief and dropped her arm. Everything that happened in the land of the sea of blood began to play in her mind from the moment her mind went completely dark, and when she regained her senses, she saw the statkus mages. Cyrus abruptly reverted to his normal state. She couldn’t explain her feelings for him at the time. The way Cyrus looked at her like he was about to devour her whole and the sensation she felt affected by his touch and the passionate hungry kiss they shared. But after that... Sage’s eyes went wide. Cyrus bit her again, but this time it happened naturally and without force.

She trembled, blinking quickly, and placed her hand on her neck on the side Cyrus had bit her, which was immediately visible.

"It feels... different." She panickedly whispered.

"That is because this one happened without force and but I won’t say it happened naturally, it only happened because of our ancestors connection to each other." Cyrus told her bluntly, and she blinked quickly.

"What ancestors? And what exactly do you mean by Soulbond?!" Sage wanted to know what was going on.

She was convinced she could read Cyrus’ mind after hearing his voices. They sounded similar, but she could still tell the difference, which confused her.

"Wait!" She exclaimed, her eyes widening in surprise.

"The mages are safe and out of the land of the sea of blood." Cyrus told her with a smile and calmly nodded slowly.

"I appreciate it." She sighed gratefully and took quick steps towards him, leaning her face close to his. "Can you tell me what is going on, Cyrus Dragos?" She asked, threateningly.

’She gets scary like this.’

’But she looks cute, makes me want to devour her.’

Sage could hear the voices, but his lips were frozen.

"I can hear...." She paused, her eyes twitched in confusion, and she placed her hands on his broad shoulders, leaning in closer, her eyes peering into his as if searching for his soul.

"Slow down." He smiled and encircled her petite frame with his arms.

"How can I calm down?!" She yelled.

"Aleara was an ice dragon, and Ioas was a fire mage. They were lovers, deeply in love, and because we are linked to their powers, the Ioas flare and Aleara’s snowflake, and we are married and in love, the desire to mate..."

Sage cut him off by pressing her finger against his lips to silence him. She lowered her head and sighed deeply as she processed what he was saying to her.

"Cyrus." She called in hushed tones, not looking at his face.

"Hmm?" Cyrus’ brow furrowed as he inquired. His wife was behaving cautiously...

"Does this... Soulbond... mean I can read your mind and feel what you are feeling?" She inquired, calmly, and removed her finger from his lips. 𝑓𝘳𝘦𝑒𝑤𝑒𝘣𝘯ℴ𝘷𝘦𝓁.𝑐𝑜𝑚

"We can only feel each other’s pain and hear each other’s thoughts when we are thinking about each other." Cyrus responded slowly, and she nodded slowly, returning her finger to his lips.

"So... When I think of you, you will hear me, and when you think of me, I will hear you?" Sage inquired slowly, just to be certain.

Cyrus gave a nod. "But I can hear your dark and demonic states!" She exploded.

’Arrogant parrot is slow.’ his dark state laughed.

"Hm?" His demonic state inquired.

"I can hear you two!" Sage yelled and looked at Cyrus. "Three souls?! Why didn’t you tell me?!" She yelled at him.

’More like, why didn’t you notice,’ his demonic state tsked, and Sage frowned deeply.

"I have no excuse." Cyrus spoke despite Sage’s finger remaining on his lips and her eyes blazing with rage.

"No excuse? Is that all you have to say?" She yelled and scoffed in disbelief, while he appeared unfazed by her feelings that he felt. She was hurt.

Cyrus’ expression softened. "Sage." He called with a deep whisper.

Sage shook her head and smiled. "You won’t understand because you know everything there is to know about me." She added while pretending to be happy. "I have nothing to hide!"

Cyrus couldn’t believe his eyes. She wasn’t even worried about the Soulbond instead she was hurt and disappointed that he had kept the existence of his third soul away from her as she was only aware of his normal state and dark state.

Her eyes were welling up with tears, and her lips trembled as they parted. "You are hiding a lot from me, and that can only mean one thing! You do not trust me!" She raised her voice, her voice filled with pain and despair.

Cyrus let go of her arms, stood up, and cupped her face, staring deep into those tear-filled eyes. He didn’t want the night to end like this.

"I trust the being who is supposed to kill me, but he doesn’t trust me!" She laughed despite her pain. "I feel completely dumb! Don’t you always refer to me as that?"

"Sage." Cyrus called again, his worried eyes peering into her as he saw her tears threatening to spill.

"You never cease to confuse me! Making me long for you! Making me feel as if I am the only one who is in love! I do not like it! I want to be with you forever, I just do not want to fantasize about it! I want to wake up every day with you! Protect you, help you, love you, and care for you, even if it means being with all of your souls!" She cried out, each of her words filled with longing and pain, while Cyrus stared at her in complete shock, and as soon as she finished her words, he crashed his lips against her, and her tears flowed like a river as soon as she closed her eyes.
