Married to the loveless CEO-Chapter 105: Cold shoulders
"Uhm... nothing," Silvia finally replied and got out of his hold.
"C’mon Silvia I know something is wrong," Davian insisted.
"Nothing is wrong. Where have you been?" Silvia asked.
"At work," he replied.
"Just work?" Silvia questioned, one of her brows raised.
"What do you mean just work?" he asked and there was some silence.
Silvia considered what she had just asked, she didn’t want to fight, "Nothing," she started walking away.
"Have you had dinner?" Davian inquired.
"I’m not hungry," she scooted up the stairs.
That was just so strange.
The next day, she left to work before he even finished showering. They didn’t have breakfast together, it was as if she was avoiding him. She told him nothing was wrong yet she was avoiding him and giving him the cold shoulders.
He went to work anyway and decided to talk to Ray about it.
"And you are sure you didn’t do anything wrong?" Ray asked.
"Of course not. I didn’t," Davian replied. "It just makes it even more strange,"
"Well, you can try finding out what you did wrong. You have to clear the air now before it gets worse," Ray adviced.
"Okay." Davian replied.
"Ray, say...you find out that your wife is having you followed, you know...to know your every move and if you are cheating on her. How will you react?" Davian asked.
"Have me followed? Cheating on her? Doesn’t she trust me?! Wait, is Silvia doing that to you?" Ray questioned.
"No, I’m just asking," Davian responded.
"Well, I will be very furious. I mean, not cool man. Why would she have me followed?" Ray replied and Davian just trailed off in thoughts.
He too would not be so happy about it if his suspicions were correct.
He got home that day but Silvia was already sleeping, he had wanted to talk to her...to clear the air between them. He freshened up and had a quick dinner before joining her in bed.
His hand crossed her waist as he spooned her. He leaned closer to her ear to whisper;
"I love you, okay?"
She wasn’t sleeping, but she didn’t respond and just continued to pretend to be asleep.
"I love you so much, never forget that." he added and snuggled deeper into her neat shiny jet black hair, her intoxicating scent he loved so much- Wrapped over him, giving him a sense of solace.
Silvia finally sighed when she heard his breathing and heart beat slow down in an even pace- He was already asleep.
Her hand reached for his arm on her waist, she held so lovingly as if she doesn’t want to let it go- Ever!
She loves him so much too, but she doesn’t know what to think anymore. After seeing pictures of him hugging Leah and even one with her pecking him, she just doesn’t know what to think anymore!
The next day morning, they both got ready for work and had a quiet breakfast together.
"You turned in quite early yesterday?" Davian finally broke the silence.
"Yes, I was very tired." she replied.
Davian put his elbows on the table as he rested his chin on his palms, "I would love to give my princess a heavenly massage," he offered.
Silvia smiled.
"I would love that. I gotta go," she stood up to leave.
"Wait!" Davian stood up after her and held her arm gently.
"Are we okay?" he inquired.
"Yes, yes we are." she affirmed.
He hugged her, she hugged him back and the hug lasted for some while before he finally let her go, "Good bye then. I will leave soon, the second meeting with the automobile company is today,"
"Okay." she nodded and walked out.
Davian went to work as well. As he had mentioned earlier to Silvia, today was the second meeting with the automobile company.
Lucas had accompanied them this time as he would be the one doing the presentation this time. It was a work over, 3D has handled various projects in the last few weeks. As usual, the company representatives were very impressed. They were offered the deal.
As everyone stood up to give a conclusive handshake. Leah flashed a smile and a thumbs up at Davian. He returned the smile.
She has opened up to him and like he had said, he doesn’t hold a grudge against her anymore but he was just really glad that it was just one meeting to go. Then he will tell her that it will be best if they just stay out of each other’s lives.
It was causing way much trouble than he had imagined.
When Davian got home, he had decided to just talk this out with Silvia. He knew that they weren’t cool yet and if he doesn’t make the move to resolve this, according to Ray- They might remain like this or even get worse.
"We need to talk Silvia," Davian said to Silvia once they were done with their dinner.
"About what?" she responded.
"Please let’s go to the living room," Davian requested and began to walk towards there, she joined him.
"Are we really okay, Silvia?" Davian asked. They were both standing.
"I already told you yes, yes! What more answers do you want?!" she responded, her voice a little on the high side.
She let out a breath, "I’m sorry-"
"Does that sound anywhere okay to you? What’s wrong Silvia? We need to sort this out right now, right here. Do you really like us like this?" Davian interrupted.
"We wouldn’t really be like this in the first place if you had just..." she paused.
"If I had just what? Tell me Silvia, what did I do wrong?!" Davian demanded.
"What is this?" she finally showed him the pictures she has been receiving, on her phone. She swiped quickly showing him every one of it.
"What is this Silvia?" he questioned.
"You tell me," she replied.
He scoffed, "So my suspicions has been right all along. You really have been spying on me,"
"Spying on you? What are you-"
"How could you do such a thing Silvia?! I can’t believe how low your trust is for me!" he cuts her off, angrily.
"What are you talking about? What are you even saying? Why are you turning this around?- Davian!" she called as he started walking away.
"Davian! Where do you think you are going to?" she asked. He had wanted to resolve their issue but after confirming his suspicions, he was hurt.
"Anywhere! Anywhere you are not." Davian answered and grabbed his car key.
"Is that your excuse to go to her?" Silvia mentioned, Davian turned to her and scoffed before he continued walking out.
"Davian!" she called after him as he got into his car and drove off.
Spying on him? He thinks she is spying on him. This was the sole reason she didn’t want to bring this up but he kept insisting.
’Where the hell is he going to now?!’ she thought.
...
{You left?! Really dude?}
"I had no choice, it hurt more seeing her. I can’t believe after all this time, she really doesn’t have any trust in me," Davian replied the person he was speaking to on the phone- It was Ray.
{Yeah, that’s pretty messed up... spying on you}
"Tell me about it. This is not the first time someone is spying on me, makes me feel uneasy. I’m totally sick of it, always keeping the thought in mind that someone might be watching me and to think Silvia would do it to me, tsk." Davian continued.
{So are you not planning to go back home? What now?}
"I will go back home but at least not today. I love her so much and not being able to see her for a day is enough torture," Davian answered.
{Tsk, love is really so hard, bro}
"Yeah, I don’t want to see her right now yet I miss her so much at the same time. Love... it’s as if you can’t live without the other," Davian added.
"Well, get me some clothes Ray. You know my sizes, I’ll send the money over as well as the address of the hotel I’m staying at. Don’t tell anyone, not even your wife," Davian requested.
{Okay.}
Silvia was a little worried. Davian didn’t come back home last night and he refused to pick up any of her calls. Did she really pissed him off that much? But she wasn’t the one who had had him followed.
She needs to see him so that they will talk this out once and for all and clear the misunderstandings. But, why does she have to be the one to make the move?
Well he has always been the one doing it mostly and now, he does think she is spying on him. 𝕗𝕣𝐞𝐞𝘄𝐞𝚋𝚗𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹.𝚌𝕠𝚖
She decided to pay Ray a surprise visit, it was a public holiday so most people wouldn’t go to work today. Davian might be at his house or Ray must surely know where Davian is as he was his closest friend.
Already knowing his place as she had visited some few times, she went there and pushed on the button of their doorbell. Ray’s wife was the one who answered it.
"Oh, Silvia, welcome. Please come in," she welcomed, wondering a little, why Silvia showed up at their doorsteps today.
"Thank you," Silvia replied and walked in. Ray’s little boy immediately ran towards her.
"Hey Aunt Silvia!" the boy greeted.
"Hey champ, how have you been?" Silvia squatted a little, to meet the boy’s height as she hugs him.
"Babe, I’m going to meet up with Davian..." Ray trails off as he set his eyes on Silvia in his living room.
Ah, his big mouth sometimes!
