Chapter 139: Uncles against nephew

"Uh..." Cia continued to stutter, not knowing the right words to say, even as Fi caught up to them. His arms wrapped shamelessly across Cia’s waist and he held Silvia’s gaze.

"You are seeing him?" Silvia asked.

"Yes, she is. I’m her boyfriend, Finland Lee. Nice to meet you," Fi replied.

"I know who you are and I know you know who I am very well. I was asking my friend here instead. Cia, can we talk in private for some while?" Silvia responded.

"Okay. Fi..." Cia said.

"Go ahead, I’ll be waiting," Fi uttered.

Silvia and Cia went aside to talk.

"Why him, Cia? Of all people? I already told you, you already know our history with him! And he is so shameless to even think of dating you knowing and even after what had happened between us." Silvia chastised.

"But I love him," Sentencia replied and Silvia paused.

"I love him so much and I know he loves me too. I know what you mean and what you are so afraid of and I know you are just worried about me but... I’m safe with Fi. He is not a bad person if you get to know him better," Cia continued.

"I have a right to love, Silvia. I have a right to decide who to love, please don’t stop me. How will you feel if someone wants to stop you so badly from being with Davian?" Cia asked and Silvia didn’t respond for some while.

"That’s not the same case, Cia. Life with a person like Fi will not be an easy one," Silvia finally replied.

"I know," Cia responded.

"Okay, Cia. I see you have already made up your mind but don’t say I didn’t warn you," Silvia replied.

They went back to Fi;

"I don’t trust you, Fi. And I know you are well aware that I don’t support Cia’s relationship with you and you know why," Silvia told.

’Who are you? Her mom?’ Fi thought. Sentencia was even a year older than her, why does he have to be on his toes in front of her as if she was Sentencia’s father. That was the kind of aura Silvia was enacting right now.

But he understands why Silvia was so rigid towards him and he doesn’t blame her.

"You really have nothing to worry about, my feelings for Cia are genuine and I wouldn’t do anything to hurt her. I also won’t let anyone else to hurt her. I promise," he replied, sincerely.

"Hmmf, you better. Because if you don’t, tsk tsk...I won’t hesitate to teach you a good lesson that you will never forget," Silvia threatened.

She bid Cia goodbye before walking away to her car.

"Whew...that was intense. I didn’t know she would despise me that much...I mean I know she hates me but I haven’t seen her in a while," Fi uttered. Sentencia wrapped her hand around his arm.

"She will get use to you," she smiled at him and he returned the smile.

"So, where is this special place you want to take me for lunch today?" Fi asked as they began to walk away, approaching his car.

"You’ll see," she grinned.

With Cia’s directions, they got to the place which was a simple but good looking restaurant.

Sentencia continued to hold his arm as she brought them to a table Logan was already occuping.

"Hey Logan, sorry for keeping you waiting," she smiled at him.

Both men were surprised. What is this?

"C’mon Fi, let’s sit," Cia pleaded and so they sat.

"Let’s order something, shall we?" Cia suggested.

"Cut to the chase Sentencia. Why did you tell me to come when you know you will be coming here with...’him’ ?" Logan was the one who spoke up about the set up first.

"Logan, you don’t have to feel like a third wheel. In fact, I’m the third wheel here. I set this lunch up, so that you guys can talk it out," Cia explained.

"There is nothing to talk out," Fi replied.

"Yes. Why do you keep trying to bring us together?" Logan added.

"Because you both look good together," Cia responded and both men cringed as their eyes met immediately she said that.

She laughed at their expressions, "You both are just so cute. Please talk it out at least...for me. First of all, let me order something good for us, their specials are amazing,"

Sentencia ordered the meals and they started to dine once it was brought to them.

"I no longer want to hold you responsible for what had happened. Not because of Cia... just because," Logan started first, once they were half way between their meals.

"But it doesn’t mean we are now friends," Logan added.

Cia was glad with the progress.

"Well, not like I want to be your friend. You should be grateful I saved your life with my stalling that day," Fi responded.

"You asshole," Logan responded calmly.

"But you know Logan...your uncles can probably be responsible for what had happened," Fi stated and Logan glanced at him.

"And why do you think so?" Logan asked.

"For all we know your uncles weren’t really on lovely terms with your father, they have always wanted the family’s seal for themselves. Don’t you think they might have joined hands together to plot the assassination?" Fi replied.

"Look here, I’m not trying to turn you against your uncles or something, I’m just stating facts. It’s not the first time we will be having an uncles against nephew scenario. Besides, weren’t they present on the day of the assassination? Why did they survive?" Fi continued.

"They came to the mansion right after the assassination," Logan told.

"How sure are you?" Fi questioned and Logan was actually thinking about it.

"I’m just saying, you might be their next target because you aren’t also in the best relationship with them," Fi added.

"Let me worry about my own problems. I’m sure what you are saying is not the case, it might have been the plans of the Prestons’ enemies," Logan replied.

"Are you?"

When Logan got home, he just couldn’t get all that Fi said out of his mind. It was possible.

His uncles has always been after the family’s mafia seal, which whosoever have it will be the leader of the family’s mafia and syndicate group.

And they didn’t even try to hide their interest for it, even up till date.

Logan could still remember when he got to the mansion on the day of the assassination. Instead of his uncles to plan on taking the bodies of Logan’s family to the morgue, they were busy restlessly searching and scattering the mansion for the seal.

It was suspicious enough.

Logan was the one who found the seal hidden among his belongings few days later, it was hidden along with a note handwritten by his father, stating Logan should take the seal and become the new leader.

Though it won’t be an easy task, his father also wrote in the note that Logan should be wary of his uncles.

After he found the seal, Mrs Anita Manchester and others supported and protected him immediately since he was young at that time. His uncles were clearly not happy and there had been several attempts against his life until it finally subsided.

It subsided when his uncles finally accepted him as their leader, halfheartedly. They thought they could control Logan but he proved stubborn and that’s why he really doesn’t have the best relationship with them.

Which is why he will continue not to trust them, until he finally gets rid of them.

"Hello," Cia picked up Fi’s call as she walked out of the hospital. She had just finished her duty for the day.

{Hello Cia, are you done with your shift?} she heard him ask from the other side.

"Yes. Why do you ask?" she grinned.

{I want to pick you up from work}

She chuckled, "You don’t have to, I brought my own car Fi,"

{Huh...but I’m already here}

"Huh?" she responded.

{Turn around...across and opposite you} She did as he said and she caught sight of him.

He was standing by his car at the other side of the road close to the hospital. He waved at her, she chuckled and waved back.

’This man...’ she thought. What is she going to do with him, really?

{Should I come and get you?} His voice brought her back to earth.

"No. I will come to you, but I’m not getting on your car okay," she replied and started to walk towards him.

{Why not?} he whined and she could clearly see him pouting from afar.

"Well, I brought my own car. The car isn’t going to take itself home," she responded, chuckling a little, as she waited for the pedestrian sign to change to free to cross.

When it finally did, she was about to cross when a white van suddenly came to a stop in front of her.

{Hey...Who are you guys?!} Fi heard Cia say over the phone.

{//Come with us//} he heard some men’s voice in the background.

"Cia?!" Fi yelled over the phone.

{Let go of me} that statement was enough to make Fi’s heart to jump out its ribcage.

He rushed unto the road towards the van but before he could get to the van, it had already sped off with Cia in it.

"Cia?!" Fi yelled after the van as it sped off with great speed.

’No?!’ Fi thought as he rushed towards his own car to go after the van.
