Married to the loveless CEO-Chapter 79: Priorities
Davian got home as fast as he could. He saw Silvia at the patio, she didn’t use the dining table but took time to prepare a table and two chairs at the patio.
Her head was on the table, ’Was she asleep?’ he thought.
He moved closer to her and squatted by her side when he got to her. She was sleeping, his hand reach out to touch her but he halted. It eventually brushed on her arm.
He could feel the goosebumps and she was so cold, she must have been out for long. His hand removed some strands of hair from her face and he could see traces of tears on her cheeks.
’Was she crying?’ he thought again. The thought that he made her cry, crushed him ten times over.
"I’m sorry," he whispered and her eyes flutter open like butterfly wings on hearing his voice.
She raised her head, "Davian,"
He put some roses which he had bought on his way home, he put it in her hands, his eyes caught sight of the necklace he had gave her, on her neck.
"I’m sorry, I totally forgot," he apologized.
’I wouldn’t miss it for anything in the world,’ his words echoed in her mind. So were those just empty words?
"It’s okay," she replied.
"It’s not, I promised to be here but I broke my promise, I’m sorry. We could still have the dinner, let’s warm it up," he suggested.
"No need, it’s late now. It might upset our stomachs, I’ll just plan this another day," she replied standing up.
"I’ll have Myne clean this up, I’m sleepy. See you upstairs," she added and walked away leaving him still squatting there. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝓮𝒘𝙚𝙗𝒏𝙤𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝒐𝙢
He knows she was deeply hurt but as usual, she’s just trying to hide her true emotions. He felt bad, she really put a lot of effort into this.
He went upstairs after some while and she was already lying on the bed on her nightgown when he got there, pretending to be asleep.
He took a quick shower and changed into his night clothes after drying up. He joined her on the bed, her back was facing him while he stared blankly at the ceiling.
At some point, he turned to face her and soon he lie completely, his hands went to her waist as he spoon her on the bed. His head leaned closer to her ears, he inhaled her scent as he whispered;
"I’m sorry. I know you are still mad," he knew she wasn’t sleeping. She soon turned around towards him and hugged him on the bed. Her hands on his waist as she snuggled into his chest.
"I’m not mad, it’s just food," she replied. He planted a kiss on her forehead.
"It’s not just food. It was food my princess took time to prepare and I couldn’t even taste it. I understand if you are mad," he responded.
"It’s okay. Tomorrow is a Sunday, let’s have dinner with my parents, my mom has been requesting for it since we returned from Williwocks," she informed.
"Okay," he replied.
The next day evening, Silvia and Davian drove off to the Reyes’ mansion. Davian doesn’t know if he might be able to keep his cool if he sees Alan Reyes. He hasn’t forgotten the fact that he hired someone to spy on him.
They arrived there and soon they all sat on the dining table at the dining room as they enjoyed their supper, talking about random things at some point.
Davian’s eyes soon met Alan’s and he couldn’t stop himself from asking;
"So how’s Randolph, Mr. Reyes?"
Alan raised a brow, "Who?"
"You know, Randolph County, the man you used in spying on me," Davian replied and there was silence in the dining room.
"He is probably fine but I haven’t seen him since he messed up on what he was hired for," Alan said, not a single remorse in his tone. Davian was expecting some sort of apology but from the looks of it this man wouldn’t be giving him any.
"I get you are still finding it hard to trust me yet, Mr. Reyes. You really have nothing to worry about because I won’t do anything to hurt Silvia nor her family. But I won’t appreciate you hiring someone to watch my every move. It’s invasion of privacy," Davian elaborated.
"I apologize on his behalf, Davian. It won’t happen again, right Alan?" Janet interceded. There was no response from Alan.
"It’s okay, Mrs. Reyes," Davian replied.
They managed to enjoy the rest of the dinner. Silvia and Davian headed home after.
His eyes glanced at Silvia through the rear mirror. She has been quiet since they left the mansion.
"Are...Are you alright Silvia?" he asked but she didn’t respond.
"Silvia-"
"You just had to bring it up," she cuts him off.
"What?" he questioned puzzled.
"You just had to bring up the thing about Randolph County," she stated.
"Well yeah. I needed to make something clear," he replied.
"Would you like if I disrespect your mother like that?" she continued.
"Disrespect? What are you talking about Silvia? What your dad did was wrong-"
"And I had already sorted it out, why did you have to bring it up again?! It’s been weeks," Silvia interrupted, her tone increasing.
"But it’s the first time I was seeing him since the incident. You don’t expect me to just stay quiet about it," he replied.
"Everyone has priorities, you have chosen yours and I get it but I’ll choose mine and I’ll like you to respect my priorities too," she pointed out.
"What are you talking about, Silvia?!" he questioned.
"Stop the car!" she suddenly said.
"What?" he responded.
"I said stop the damn car," she repeated, he shook his head;
"No I won’t, Silvia. We are still far off from home and it’s late, do you think you can get a taxi? I’m sorry if it felt like I disregarded your parents all because I was securing my privacy rights!"
"It’s not just that you know. I’m trying my best, I’m trying my best not to look or sound selfish, to be patient with you, to understand.
"But it seems every day I can’t get the feeling off that you love your work more than you claim to love me and hiding my true feelings, pretending to be okay is eating me up!" she expressed.
’What?’ he thought, he knows she sometimes likes to hide her true feelings but he never detected that she felt that way.
She held the steering wheel, steering the car to the corner close to the pavement as she hits the break with her foot.
She opened the door and got out; "Silvia!" he called after her as he too got out of the car and ran towards her.
"Leave me alone, don’t any closer," she yelled. She knocked his arms off as he got to her and tried to hold her;
"Don’t touch me," she didn’t want him to see her like this not because of the issue anymore but because she didn’t get why she snapped at him like that, she didn’t get why she became so sensitive and emotional all of a sudden after accepting and confessing her feelings for him.
He continued his attempts to hold her and so she began hitting on his chest, crying until she finally surrendered to his warm embrace.
"Silvia, I’m sorry for making you feel that way. I’m sorry..." he pleaded. Her hands wrapped around him.
"I’m sorry for snapping at you," she mumbled her apology as she hugged him tighter.
"It’s okay, Silvia. It’s good you opened up to me, I don’t want you to hide your feelings from me. If I’m doing something wrong, let me know okay?" he pleaded and she nodded.
"Let’s go home," he added and they went back to the car.

"I’m coming, just a sec," Cia told as she rushes towards her door. She just returned from work and someone just had to pay her a visit when she was about to cool off.
She paused when she got to the door, what if it was Fi or Logan maybe?
She glanced at the door hole, "Silvia?" She opened the door.
"Hey," she said.
"Hey," Silvia replied.
"Come in," Sentencia opened the door wider for Silvia to come in which she did, then she shut the door.
"Come sit down. What’s up?" Cia asked, she was a little surprised to see her at this time.
"Do you care for anything?" she asked again after Silvia had sat down.
"No I’m good. I just needed someone to talk to," Silvia responded and Cia sat close to her.
"(Sighs) Why...Why does it hurt? Does it normally hurt at some point?" Silvia started.
"What?" Cia asked.
"Love," Silvia answered and Cia couldn’t help but laugh. She and Olivia already knows about her feelings for Davian, everyone does. It was why they pushed through with the honeymoon anyways.
"It’s not funny, Cia," she added.
"Okay, I’m sorry. But what were you expecting? A bed of roses and bliss everyday. You guys are two individuals with different personalities,
"There’s bond to be some cons at some point but your ability to get through it as a couple is what truly defines your love for each other," Cia explained.
"So tell me, what happened? Did you guys fight?" she added.
"Not exactly. Urgh..." Silvia covered her face with her palms as she groaned.
"I just snapped at him," she added.
"And why?" Cia asked.
"Because he’s making me miss him so much, so much that it’s making me angry. He spends so much time at work lately, we barely get to see much of each other. It makes me wish we’d spent a longer time at Williwocks," Silvia sighed.
"So you’re angry because he isn’t giving you any attention?" Cia questioned.
"No...Yes, does it even make any sense?" Silvia replied and Cia chuckled.
"It’s okay, I understand. Have you guys had closure on it?" Cia asked.
"Yes I guess," Silvia answered.
"But you don’t feel satisfied by it?" Cia inquired and Silvia just stared at her.
"What you both need is more understanding and tolerance for each other, communication. You’ve been in other relationships before, Silvia, you should know these things," she continued.
"Yes I have but I didn’t care. My relationship with Davian is the first where I’ve actually been in love," Silvia replied and Cia nodded.
"I know you are still new to these feelings but just be more patient with him," she suggested and Silvia nodded.
"I will," she hugged Cia, "Thank you Cia," she added.
"No prob," she responded.
Silvia soon stood up to leave and Cia accompanied her to the door. Cia opened it and they immediately saw Logan Preston who was about to push on the door bell.
Cia’s eyes almost bulged out at the sight of him while Silvia stared intensly at the man.
What’s this man doing here?
