Chapter 97: Who the hell are you?

"Good morning sir," the receptionist welcomed Davian who just walked into the building, where 3D was located.

"Good morning," he replied walking towards the elevator. He pushed the button and the elevator opened, he pinched the skin between his brows when he got in.

He had skipped breakfast despite feeling fatigued from hunger because Silvia had gone to work early and so they didn’t have breakfast together and he wouldn’t want to eat alone but now he could really use some morning snacks.

Ding!

He walked out of the elevator and towards where 3D was.

"Good morning sir," the new employees greeted as soon as he walked in.

The greetings of his initial employees could be heard but inaudibly to Davian as his eyes caught sight of Leah who held some snacks and sodas in her hands which she distributed to his employees with a wide smile on her face.

"Hi Davian," she welcomed him.

"What are you doing here?" he asked her.

"Well...I came to see...Ray! I came to see Ray," she replied, even Ray was surprised to hear his name as he had nothing to do with Leah, it was obviously a lie.

"Of course, also to give some snacks I bought for you guys. Do you want some?" she asked. Davian just walked towards her and grabbed her hand suddenly which made her to drop the stuffs she was holding, on a nearby table.

He brought her to his office.

"Hmm, I wonder who that lady is. Does the boss knows her?" Brenda asked no one in particular.

"Why don’t you just mind your own business, Brenda. You are so nosey," Greg chastised her.

"Hmmf. Do you know her boss Ray?" Brenda scoffed at Greg then directed her attention and question to Ray.

"Greg is right, Brenda. Now get back to work," Ray responded.

"I thought I told you not to come here, but you still had the guts to," Davian scolded Leah once they were in his office, he still held her arm.

"Well, yeah, I...but-" she paused when Lucas just barged in abruptly.

"You need to see something, Davian. Asap, it’s due for submission," Lucas informed.

"Work now? Really... Can’t you see I’m busy?" Davian responded.

"It’s really urgent and important. It’s an emergency," Lucas continued.

Davian let go of Leah, "Stay there and be quiet for the remaining moments that you have in my sights,"

Davian walked over to his seat and Lucas followed to stand close to him. He placed the laptop in front of Davian, on his table as he showed him the project.

"It looks fine but...I feel it still needs some few touches, it’s lacking something," Davian commented.

"What? Dude, I personally worked on this all night giving it the final touches," Lucas whined.

"Well due or not we can’t submit this. Go work on it, add some more layers maybe-"

"Or more mockups, the display and pixels could also need some more improvements," Leah chipped in and that was when both men discovered that she was now standing behind them prior to what Davian had instructed.

"That’s...a good idea actually. Funny, ’cause this is actually my job. I’ll go work on it then," Lucas excused himself.

"Actually Davian..." Leah started once Lucas was gone.

"The real reason why I came here is because I wanted to tell you something important," she continued, dropping some files on his table in front of him.

"I came across some business proposals coincidentally, concerning advertisement and I recommended your firm with five stars. Now three of the companies are interested in setting up a meeting with 3D if you’re interested.

"Those files contain everything you need to know about the companies, they’re all in Asteria. All you just have to do is send them an email if you are interested," she explained.

Davian didn’t respond for some while.

"Why are you still doing this? I clearly told you not to," he finally said.

"I want to make things up to you," she replied, "Please let me,"

"You don’t have to. Don’t you have somewhere else to be?" he questioned.

"Actually no but I’ll leave now. But... just a sec," she added the last part then walked out of his office. She came back with some snacks and soda for him.

"Have this," she continued, she placed them on his table. "I should go now, bye." she added and walked out of his office.

After staring at what she had placed on his table for a while. He finally decided to not let it waste. He started to eat the snacks as he went through the files which were legit.

...Few hours later...

Davian had called it a day, so he was about to go home. He bid his employees goodbye- Who were also preparing to leave soon.

It was raining heavily, he came across the receptionist who was still on duty.

"Have a good evening sir," she told.

"You too," Davian responded.

He walked towards the sliding doors which opened automatically. He walked out and noticed Leah, who was seated at a bench close to the building.

’What is she still doing here?’ Davian thought. He walked towards her.

"Hi Davian," she spoke first once she saw him coming.

"What are you still doing here?" he asked. It has been a lot of hours.

"I got trapped here by the rain and I didn’t bring my car. I wanted to get a cab but there was none available at the moment due to the downpour which started as soon as I left your office," she explained.

"Just your luck, of all the days that you didn’t have to bring your car along, why today when it is raining heavily?" Davian responded.

She chuckled, "Wrong timing I guess,"

"You have been out for hours, why didn’t you just stay indoors at the lobby?" Davian asked and just as she was about to reply, her heart skipped a beat and started racing as he took off his suit jacket and placed it over her.

"C’mon, I’ll drive you home," he offered.

He didn’t wait for her response as he started running in the rain towards the parking lot, she followed him and they soon got to his car. He opened the driver side and got in, she too opened the shotgun’s door and got in.

Davian started driving as she led the way, giving him directions at some points though she had already told him where she lives at.

They got to where she lived and Davian parked his house at her driveway.

"Thank you very much Davian," she appreciated.

"Keep it on since It’s still raining," Davian suggested, when she was about to take off his jacket.

"Oh, thank you. I promise to return the jacket soon," she replied.

"Thank you too. For the snacks and the business deals," he responded.

She smiled broadly, "You can hire me as a promoter of your firm,"

"And see you everyday, no way!" he objected.

"What? Afraid you might fall for me again," she grinned at him.

He turned towards her, "Not in a million years,"

"Don’t be so sure," she replied.

"I don’t need you to promote my firm and I don’t really want you coming to my firm either," he added.

"I really need a job though," she lied, chuckling. "Why don’t you want me coming to your firm? We’re friends now, how else do you expect me to see you?"

"Friends doesn’t mean you can show up at my workplace anyhow. And, we really don’t need to see each other, don’t take too much advantage of the fact that I want us to end our relationship on a friendly note," he replied.

"But at least...if you want to come, inform me before hand," he added.

"Okay," she smiled, at least he was slowly starting to warm up to her. "Bye and thanks again for the ride."

...

Silvia got pics from the same unknown number again. She knows she said she will ignore it but this time was just too much not to react.

The pics was of Davian putting his suit jacket on that woman, it was raining and they were in front of 3D- Just why the hell was that woman going there?

Another was of him, obviously dropping her off at her house and he let her go with his jacket. This just irks her.

Davian was seeing that woman!

She dialed the unknown number and the person actually picked up.

"Hello?!" Silvia started, but there was no response from the person at the other end.

"Hello... who the hell are you?!" she continued but there was still no response.

"I asked you a question, who are you? And why do you keep sending me these pics-"

Beep!

The person hung up on her. Silvia decided to text the person instead, asking the same questions.

She waited for the person to text back and the person actually did. She opened the message to read.
