Marrying His Nemesis: Kicking My Scumbag Fiancé Away!-Chapter 56: This Bastard Really Dotes on His Wife
After the orchestra performance, everyone had a three-day holiday.
Seraphina Thorne left Zenith Group and took a taxi to the law firm where Ivy Langley worked.
"Seraphina!"
Ivy Langley had been waiting at the entrance, and upon seeing her, warmly approached her.
She noticed the sapphire jewelry set on Seraphina and widened her eyes in amazement.
"Ethan Sterling is really spoiling his wife, willing to buy the ’Chrysanthemum Encounter’ worth over twenty million for you! Honestly, has he fallen for you?"
Seraphina tightened her coat to cover the splendid jewelry.
"He’s just giving me some temporary stature; today we’re going to Zenith for a board meeting."
Ivy Langley got anxious, "You... you’re going to meet Adrian Chamberlain?"
"Yes." Seraphina’s tone was calm, "I found that now when I face him, I can even smile."
"That means you’ve really let go." Ivy Langley pulled her into the elevator, "Not talking about that jerk, you wanted me to find a lawyer for Caleb Thorne, right? This time, I found you a super genius."
"Will... will it be very expensive?" Seraphina pursed her lips, "I don’t have that much money right now."
"You can meet them first, and if money’s an issue, I’ll help you think of something." Ivy pointed at her face, "No need to bicker with me, don’t forget, you still hold Zenith’s shares, so when Zenith gets back on track, you’ll be quite wealthy!"
Concerning Caleb, Seraphina no longer insisted.
"Okay, let’s go meet them first."
The two went upstairs together, and Ivy briefly explained the situation to her.
"I found our firm’s star partner for you, who just returned from Country M, both handsome and brilliant! A superstar in the legal world, do you know their winning rate? 99%, the remaining 1% is out-of-court settlements!"
Ivy took Seraphina to a rest area next to the pantry and handed her a cup of hot tea.
"I’ll go check if the genius has arrived, wait for me, I’ll be right back."
Ivy turned and left, while Seraphina sat on the couch, holding the teacup, with some worry.
Would such a big-shot lawyer be willing to take on such a tough case?
The sound of footsteps was light.
Two young men in suits walked by one after another.
Noticing Seraphina sitting on the couch, the man in the black coat at the front stopped.
"Are you... Seraphina?!"
Seraphina put the teacup down and stood up, carefully examining the man.
The man seemed to be around Caleb Thorne’s age, with a black coat draped over his arm and wearing a chic charcoal gray three-piece suit.
His deep and refined face had a hint of a mixed-race allure.
He exuded a gentle and sharp demeanor.
Seraphina didn’t recognize that face.
"And you are?"
"It really is you." The man walked over with a pleased smile, reaching out his right hand to her, "Do you remember me?"
Seraphina politely reached out her right hand, gently grasping his hand, still unable to recall who he was.
"Try to remember carefully." The man lightly squeezed her hand, his tone was full of humor, "I’m your loyal fan!"
Loyal fan?
Recently, she had only performed twice, where did she get any loyal fans?
Seraphina just assumed he was joking.
"You really like to joke."
"I’m quite serious, after all, I’ve listened to many of your concerts..."
Before he finished speaking, a female assistant holding a coffee cup walked into the hallway, Ivy Langley following behind her.
"Sis, I beg you!"
"Ivy, this isn’t up to me!" The female assistant stopped in her tracks, "Attorney Foster just took on two big cases, how would he have time for another one?"
"Could you help me talk to Attorney Foster, this is for my very best friend’s case." Ivy pleaded with both hands, "Sis, I’m begging you, just lend a hand!"
"Ivy!" Seraphina watched and rushed over, "Let’s just find someone else!"
The man who had been speaking to Seraphina noticed Ivy and Seraphina and asked with a smile, "You know each other?"
"Attorney Foster!" Ivy saw him and quickly pulled Seraphina over, "This is my very best friend, Seraphina, Seraphina, this is the star partner I mentioned from our firm, Attorney Nathan Foster. Attorney Foster, I beg you, please help her, her case... really can’t be won by ordinary people."
"Ivy!" The female assistant hurried over to stop them, "Attorney Foster is really busy..."
Before the assistant finished speaking, Nathan Foster had already raised his right hand, signaling her to be silent.
His eyes fell on Seraphina’s face.
"You’re here to find a lawyer?"
Seraphina worried about affecting Ivy and quickly apologized.
"Sorry, Ivy’s just trying to help me, she didn’t mean to trouble you."
"How about this..." Nathan Foster pondered for a moment, "Let’s talk in my office."
The female assistant furrowed her brows, "But..."
"Please bring Miss Thorne a cup of hot tea." Nathan Foster raised his right hand with a smile, "Miss Thorne, please!"
"Thank you, Attorney Foster!" Ivy showed her gratitude with a smile to him and escorted Seraphina outside Nathan Foster’s office, "I have to head out to work right now, I won’t be able to accompany you. Good luck!"
Nodding to Ivy, Seraphina followed Nathan Foster to his office.
He offered her a seat on the couch and personally took the tea handed over by the assistant and placed it in front of her.
"What kind of lawsuit are you pursuing?"
Seraphina took the teacup and put it on the table.
"Attorney Foster, you must have heard about the Zenith Group, the building collapse case?"
Nathan Foster nodded.
"The designer involved, Caleb Thorne, is my brother." Seraphina took a deep breath, "Everyone thinks the building collapse was due to a flaw in his design, but I know, he was falsely accused. I’m looking for a lawyer... to help him appeal and overturn the verdict."
"Ahem!"
The assistant standing to the side sorting through documents gave a gentle cough and gestured to Nathan Foster.
"Miss Thorne, I’m really sorry... Attorney Foster rarely takes construction-related cases, it’s not his speciality."
Seraphina was indeed aware of how difficult the case was.
From the beginning until now, she had approached countless lawyers.
Mentioning the Zenith Group, none of them didn’t shake their heads, nobody believed Caleb was falsely accused.
The refusal was also within her expectations.
"Thank you, then I won’t disturb you further."
Standing up, she grabbed her bag to leave.
"Wait." Nathan Foster stood up, "I indeed seldom take construction-related cases, but... if you trust me, I’m willing to give it a try."
The assistant anxiously tugged at his sleeve, but Nathan Foster calmly moved his arm away.
"I can’t guarantee a win, but... I’ll give it my all!"
Seraphina turned her face in shock, "You believe my brother is innocent?"
Nathan Foster nodded, "I know Caleb, I believe he’s definitely not that kind of person!"
Seraphina was completely surprised, "You... you know my brother?"
Nathan Foster chuckled, "You truly don’t remember me, little one from the Thorne Family?"
