Marrying His Nemesis: Kicking My Scumbag Fiancé Away!-Chapter 92: You Didn’t Miss Me? Then You Deserve a Punishment!
Inside the lounge.
Seraphina Thorne changed clothes and removed her makeup, stepping out of the dressing room, where Ethan Sterling had already tidied up her violin and cleared away miscellaneous items from the table.
He took her performance attire from her hand and put it into a paper bag, unfolded his coat to drape over her shoulders, and proactively took up her trophy and her violin.
"Let’s go, we’re going home!"
Seraphina picked up her bag and followed behind him.
She was somewhat unsure of what he meant by "home."
Together, they walked into the parking lot, watching Ethan unlock the car, as Seraphina hurried to catch up.
"I’ve moved everything back to the Sovereign Villa. If you... if it’s inconvenient for you, I can take a taxi back myself."
"What are you talking about?" Ethan placed the items in the back seat and opened the car door for her, "Of course, wherever you go, I’ll go. Are you saying you want us to live apart?"
At The Paramount Gardens, she had already packed and left everything, even leaving the keys for him.
As long as Ethan returned home, he should see it.
Could it be that he hasn’t been home these past few days?
"Are you getting in?"
From across the car, Ethan smiled and urged her.
Seraphina nodded and sat in the passenger seat.
"I thought... you wouldn’t come to watch the competition tonight."
"How could that be? When the wife is competing, the husband must be there to cheer her on," Ethan said with a smile.
His tone was as usual.
Seraphina heard it, yet felt a bit suffocated and uncomfortable.
Clearly, he was together with Chloe Foster behind her back, how could he still say these things so easily?
The car swung down the beltway, turning onto the road leading to the Sovereign Villa.
Ethan glanced at Seraphina, who was leaning against the seat, staring out the window in a daze.
Seraphina wasn’t someone who could hide things, and Ethan easily noticed that her mood was a bit off.
"I know, I should have been preparing for the competition with you these past few days, just..." Ethan frowned, "The company has really been busy lately, don’t be angry with me, okay?"
Did she make it so obvious?
Seraphina raised her hand, touching her face.
"I’m not angry with you." She adjusted her expression, "I’m just a bit tired."
Tonight, if it weren’t for Ethan, her competition simply couldn’t have continued.
For this alone, she ought to be grateful to him.
What reason did she have to show him a nasty face and lose her temper?
"I understand, you’ve been working hard these past few days preparing for the competition." Ethan reached over with his right hand, ruffling the top of her head, "Once we’re home, I’ll make you a hot chocolate, you take a hot bath, and have a nice long sleep!"
Feeling the warmth of the man’s palm upon her head.
Seraphina lowered her eyelashes.
Despite Ethan’s tenderness, she wished he’d be colder to her, more indifferent...
Then she could completely harden her heart, fulfilling his and Chloe’s wishes.
Bzzz—
The phone vibrated.
Seraphina reached into her bag for the phone.
On the screen, a WeChat message from Ivy Langley was displayed.
[Sweetie, seize the opportunity, and work on winning over our President Sterling soon!]
Followed by a cheering emoji.
Seraphina replied with a wry smile emoji, then stuffed the phone back into her bag.
Remembering the wallet beside the phone, she suddenly thought of the one million prize check.
Previously, it was Ethan’s special reminder that let her know about the one million prize for the competition.
The sponsor was also him, could it be...
He sponsored the event on purpose to help her?
"By the way," Seraphina feigned a casual tone, "how come you didn’t tell me you were sponsoring the competition?"
If he told her the money was arranged by him.
Knowing this girl’s temper, she’d surely return the money to him.
Ethan sneaked a look at Seraphina’s expression, smiling slightly.
"Mrs. Sterling, do you think something this trivial requires me, as the CEO, to personally handle it?"
He was right; why would a few hundred thousand in advertising need Ethan to personally decide?
It was just a coincidence.
Seraphina pulled at her smile, feeling a bit bitter.
Indeed, she was overthinking again.
Seraphina Thorne, you really are vain.
Why would she think Ethan would do these things just for her?!
Originally, she wanted to ask him how he knew her performance piece, but suddenly Seraphina lost interest.
The car returned to Sovereign Villa, stopping in front of The Thorne Estate.
Seraphina opened the door, and Ethan carried things in both hands, helping her bring the trophy and violin into the living room.
Removing the coat and hanging it on the rack, Ethan unbuttoned his suit and took off his jacket, casting his gaze on his still-healing right arm.
"Honey, I’ll pop some champagne to celebrate, could you tidy up a guest room? Your bed’s a bit small, the two of us will be a bit cramped."
Is this the official start of sleeping separately?
Seraphina lowered her lashes, "Alright."
Watching her ascend the stairs, Ethan sighed softly and walked into the kitchen.
A while later, Seraphina had tidied up the guest room and descended downstairs.
Ethan had already opened the champagne, and on the bar counter, he had also placed a cake he had specially bought for her.
"Here..." Pouring two glasses of champagne, he handed one to her, "To my wife’s national competition championship, cheers!"
Seraphina walked to the bar and picked up the glass, clinking it with his.
"Thank you for helping me complete the competition tonight."
She raised her right hand, draining the glass in one gulp.
"Forget again?" Ethan raised his hand to pinch her cheek, "Didn’t we agree not to say thank you to your husband?"
Seraphina tugged at her lips, staying silent.
"Today you’re the champion, you’re the boss; I won’t quibble with you." Ethan pushed over the cake, "Eat up, it’s your favorite chocolate mousse."
Seraphina sat at the table, picking up the cake.
Her usual favorite dessert tasted a bit off today.
Ethan sat on the chair next to hers, sipping champagne as he watched her eat.
His gaze fell on her lips, feeling somewhat moved.
He hadn’t seen her for a few days, and he truly missed her.
"Is it delicious?"
"Yes."
"What if your husband wants to taste it too?"
Seraphina dug a spoonful of cake and handed it to him.
Ethan opened his mouth to take the cake from her spoon, then set aside his champagne glass, wrapping his palm around her waist, gently caressing her waist through her thin sweater.
"Honey, I still want to eat!"
Through the sweater, she clearly felt the heat of his palm.
Her throat felt dry and itchy, so Seraphina pushed the cake towards him and jumped down from the chair.
"Then... it’s all yours; I’ll go rest first."
Ethan: ...
This oblivious little fool, she really can’t be led on!
Placing the champagne glass on the bar, Ethan reached out and pulled Seraphina to him, holding her close.
"What, a few days apart, and my wife doesn’t miss me at all?"
Seraphina lifted her face to meet his gaze, suddenly flustered.
They had already shared the most intimate moments between a man and a woman, yet she was still blushing.
His Mrs. Sterling really had thin skin!
Then he must have thick skin. 𝐟𝐫𝕖𝗲𝘄𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝕧𝐞𝚕.𝕔𝕠𝐦
"You don’t miss me? Then you must be punished!"
With a soft whisper, Ethan lowered his head and kissed her.
