Mystic Eyes: My Eyes Steal the Laws of Cultivation-Chapter 265: Cloud Empire (85)
At the center of the dead area, there was something.
As soon as Kyrian crossed the last dry trees and reached the heart of that devastated region, he finally could see clearly the core of the natural formation.
It was simple. Strangely simple. A sphere.
A gray ball, the size of a human head, partially embedded in the cracked soil.
But the simplicity of its form did not hide the terror it caused.
Kyrian stopped a few meters away. His eyes narrowed slightly.
Even without trying to sense, he could clearly perceive what was happening. A monstrous suction of energy emanated from that sphere.
It was not visible to ordinary eyes. But Kyrian could see. With his special eyes, he saw invisible threads of energy being pulled from the environment, from the soil, from the dead trees, and even from the corpses scattered through the forest.
Everything was being drained.
Qi. Vitality. Essence. Everything was being sucked into that gray core. If any other cultivator were there at that moment...
They would probably die in a few minutes. Their Qi would be ripped from their dantians without any resistance.
Their body would slowly dry out. Their vitality would be consumed until only an empty corpse remained.
A natural formation capable of killing cultivators. Kyrian remained silent for a few seconds.
"A truly cruel formation..."
He took a step forward. The suction continued. But against him... it was completely useless.
As soon as the force tried to touch his body, his eyes reacted instinctively.
The energy that tried to invade his dantians simply disappeared, blocked by some mysterious ability that he still did not fully understand.
Kyrian slowly approached the sphere. The closer he got, the clearer the structure of the formation became before his eyes.
For anyone else, that would look like only a sphere of stone. But for Kyrian... it was a chaotic tangle of energetic flows.
Spiritual lines intertwined inside the sphere like living roots. Some were stable. Others were completely erratic.
It was like a sick heart, pulsing in an irregular way. Kyrian stopped right in front of the core. His right hand opened. The mark on his palm was burning intensely now.
It was reacting directly to the core of the formation. As if it were saying only one thing.
Fix it.
Kyrian observed the gray sphere for a few moments.
He still did not know exactly what that mark was. Where it came from. Or why it reacted to natural formations.
But until now... it had never caused any real problem.
Even so, Kyrian would never completely trust it. If one day he realized that mark was trying to manipulate him or lead him to harm himself.
He would simply destroy it. His eyes had power enough for that. The power to cut such a connection.
But for now... he decided to follow that guidance.
Kyrian slowly crouched in front of the core. Then he extended his hand. Without hesitation. His palm touched the gray sphere.
In the next instant... his hand sank completely inside the core. There was no resistance. There was no pain.
It was like dipping his hand into cold water.
But as soon as the mark made direct contact with the center of the formation... the earth trembled. A heavy tremor ran through the entire dead region.
The dry trees creaked. Cracks spread through the soil.
Kyrian remained calm. He closed his eyes slightly.
And then... opened them. His vision focused completely on the interior of the formation.
Now he could see everything with absolute clarity. The flows of energy. The spiritual lines. The unstable heart of the natural formation.
It was like observing a broken mechanism. Some lines were displaced. Others were trapped in wrong cycles.
That was what was causing the imbalance. Kyrian began to slowly move his hand inside the sphere.
Each movement was careful. Precise.
Like someone trying to reassemble an extremely complex puzzle.
He pulled one line. Pushed another. Some he simply broke. Others he repositioned in the correct place.
The tremor of the earth continued. Sometimes stronger. Sometimes weaker. But Kyrian remained focused.
Time passed. Ten minutes. Twenty minutes. Thirty minutes.
Sweat began to run lightly down his forehead.
Even though he was not using Qi directly, manipulating something so complex required an absurd concentration.
Finally... something changed. The core trembled violently. The spiritual lines inside the sphere began to unravel.
The monstrous suction that dominated the region began to weaken. Kyrian made one last movement with his hand. A small twist. As if he were unlocking something.
Then... the gray sphere disappeared.
There was no explosion. There was no sound. It simply ceased to exist.
In the next instant... a gigantic wave of spiritual energy exploded around Kyrian.
The Qi returned. From all directions.
It was as if the world itself was breathing again after years suffocated.
The spiritual energy that had been accumulated inside the core during all that time now returned to the environment.
The wind began to blow. The land was still dead. The trees were still dry.
But Kyrian could clearly feel... the balance had been restored.
With the passing of the years, that forest would slowly return to life. New plants would grow. New spiritual beasts would arrive.
The natural cycle would be rebuilt.
Kyrian removed his hand from the place where the core had been. He looked at his own palm. The mark was still there. But it had changed.
Very little. Only a slightly larger percentage. But the difference was visible.
Kyrian remained silent for a few seconds.
Each natural formation resolved seemed to slowly strengthen that mark. But what its final objective was... he still did not know.
Kyrian looked around one last time. His eyes traveled through the entire now silent area. There did not seem to be any more natural formations nearby.
His work there was finished. He turned his body. And began to walk back.
Four days later.
Kyrian finally returned to the capital of the Cloud Empire. Arcon landed softly in front of the gates of the city.
As before, Arcon was taken to one of the great stables of the capital to rest.
Kyrian quickly thanked the caretakers before continuing on his way. His destination was clear.
The Crimson Lotus Residence.
He arrived at the place at the end of the afternoon. But when he entered...
He noticed that the house was almost empty. Only one person was there.
Yan Ling.
She was sitting in the inner courtyard, apparently cleaning her weapon.
When she saw Kyrian enter, she raised her eyes.
"You returned."
Kyrian nodded.
"Where are the others?"
"Around the city." she answered calmly.
"I think they are still enjoying the capital."
Kyrian simply nodded his head. He decided to wait. The night arrived slowly.
One by one, the others began to return.
Kai was the first. Then Bai Zhu. Li Fen arrived soon after. Lastly... Mei Li entered the courtyard with a light smile.
As soon as everyone was gathered, Kyrian finally spoke.
"My affairs in the Empire are concluded."
He looked at each of them.
"If you do not need to do anything else..."
"Then it is time for us to depart back to the Blood Court."
Mei Li crossed her arms.
"I have already enjoyed everything I wanted from the capital."
Kai laughed.
"Me too. And I still have spirit stones left, thanks to the bets in the Coliseum."
Bai Zhu nodded.
"I already bought everything I needed. And I said goodbye to Tao."
Li Fen simply nodded.
"Ready."
Kyrian nodded.
"Then we will depart tomorrow."
Without saying anything else, he turned and walked toward the stairs. His room was waiting for him.
The journey back to the Blood Court would begin early. That night, Kyrian slept deeply.
When he woke up the next morning... the sun had barely risen. But when he left the room... everyone was already waiting for him. Ready to leave the capital.
