Marrying My Father's Enemy-Chapter 129: All I Ever Wanted
Chapter 129: All I Ever Wanted
Chapter 129: All I Ever Wanted
~Two weeks later
The morning air carried a cold chill, but Eira felt warm inside as she approached the shining new building.
It was tall, modern, and unmissable on the bustling street.
Its glass was reflecting the busy world outside, but to Eira, it was a mirror of her ambitions.
She couldn’t stop smiling as she noticed its location—directly across from the towering offices of Callian and Henry.
The irony wasn’t lost on her.
She pushed open the front doors, stepping into the spacious lobby.
The polished floors and sleek furniture gave off an air of professionalism she’d worked so hard to create.
It felt surreal to finally have an office of her own.
"This is it," she murmured to herself, trailing her fingers along the reception desk.
"Talking to yourself already? That’s a good sign," came Elias’s voice from behind her.
She turned to find him leaning casually against the glass door, holding two coffee cups.
His dark hair was slightly tousled, and his familiar smirk tugged at the corner of his lips.
"You’re late," she said, raising an eyebrow but taking one of the cups.
"And you’re bossy," he replied back, but his tone was lighter.
They both chuckled, and for a moment, it felt easy.
But Eira still told herself to stay guarded.
She didn’t know Elias too well to let her guard down completely.
Even though he offered the help with designers and decorations, Eira didn’t allow his presence into her business.
It was hers, and soon, all Henry’s assets will belong to her as well.
"Where’s William?" she asked, glancing around.
"Upstairs. He’s been pacing around like a proud father waiting to see his kid’s first step," Elias replied.
"I see..." Eira laughed softly and headed to the elevator.
As the doors slid shut, she wondered how much had changed in such a short time.
The online shop’s launch had been a success—far beyond what she’d anticipated.
Orders poured in, and the buzz around her brand grew so quickly she’d barely had time to keep up.
The rapid growth forced her to think bigger, and this office was part of that vision.
When the elevator doors opened, William was indeed pacing.
He stopped as soon as he saw her, breaking into a wide smile.
"Finally! Took you long enough," he teased.
"I’m not late," Eira said, stepping out.
"Doesn’t matter. Come on, you have to see the setup."
Eira followed him through the hallway, where the smell of fresh paint was coming from.
The office space was sprawling, with plenty of room for her growing team.
Sunlight streamed through the floor-to-ceiling windows, showing rows of desks and the larger conference room in the corner.
"It’s perfect," she said softly, letting her eyes sweep across the room.
"It’s more than that. It’s a statement," William added, folding his arms.
Eira looked at him, confused.
"Don’t you see?" he continued. "This building—your office—it’s right across from Callian and Henry. They’re going to hate it."
A slow, evil smile spread across her face.
She hadn’t chosen the location by accident.
"They deserve a little intimidation," she admitted.
"Just don’t let them know how much you’re enjoying it," Elias interjected, joining them.
"Oh, I won’t."
The First Steps were harder...
They spent the next few hours setting things up.
Eira directed the movers as they brought in furniture, while William helped arrange the desks.
Elias, of course, found every opportunity to lean against something and make comments.
"This desk looks like it’s ready to collapse," he said, tapping one corner of a newly assembled table.
"It’s perfectly fine," Eira said, rolling her eyes.
"If you say so. Don’t blame me when it gives out during an important meeting," he argued.
Despite his teasing, Elias was surprisingly helpful.
He adjusted monitors, unpacked chairs, and even ran to get snacks when the work stretched into the afternoon.
By the time the office was starting to look like a functioning workspace, Eira found herself standing in the middle of it, hands on her hips, looking at everything.
"It’s really happening," she said aloud.
William stepped beside her, giving her a small nudge. "Of course it is. You made it happen."
She envisioned the busy team that would soon fill this space, the projects they’d tackle, and the success they’d achieve.
Still, a small voice in the back of her mind reminded her of the challenges ahead. ƒrēenovelkiss.com
She’d come far, but she wasn’t naïve.
As if reading her mind, Elias spoke from the corner.
"Don’t overthink it, Eira. You’re here. You’ve already won half the battle."
"Half the battle isn’t enough," she replied firmly.
Elias shrugged. "Fair enough. But don’t forget to celebrate the wins, too."
She nodded, letting his words sink deep inside her.
Later that evening, as the sunlight faded and the city lights began to twinkle outside, Eira was finally left alone in the office.
The others had left, but she stayed behind, wanting a moment to herself.
She sat at her desk, staring out the window at the building across the street.
Callian and Henry’s office was a massive giant, but it didn’t intimidate her.
If anything, it fueled her drive.
Suddenly, an idea struck her.
"What if..." she murmured, tapping her pen against the desk.
Her jaw flinched as she considered the possibilities.
The online shop had taken off, but she wanted more.
What if she expanded into a subscription-based service? Something exclusive, curated, and tailored for her most loyal customers.
It could set her brand apart even further and create a steady income.
The thought excited her, and she quickly started writing down notes.
She could see it now—a premium membership that offered personalized product recommendations, early access to new launches, and even virtual styling sessions.
"Yes," she whispered.
The sound of the door opening startled her.
She turned to see William standing there, holding a pizza box.
"I thought you might still be here," he said, setting the box on her desk.
"Thanks," she said, smiling up at him.
"Didn’t want you working late without food," he added, pulling up a chair.
As they ate, Eira shared her new idea with him.
"That’s brilliant," William said. "It’s exactly the kind of innovation you need to stay ahead."
"Then it’s settled. I’ll start working on it tomorrow."
"Just make sure to get some sleep tonight first."
"I want a grand opening, with musicians... and later on, I’ll turn it into a club."
"Why a club?" William raised his eyebrow.
"Because that’s how I could make more connections here."
