Chapter 347 - Death Goes By The Name Of Hypersonic Missiles.

Rick and Bonney sat down with defeated expressions as memories of their somewhat short life flashed through their minds.

Lucas, the Captain, kept taking glances at the radar, and every time his face paled more. He still had hopes that it was a mistake and the missiles weren't targeting them, but his hopes were getting crushed every time he looked at the radar.

Ichiro yawned and turned his head towards Bonney, who started crying her eyes out after remembering the last talk she had with her daughter.

''Excuse me, shouldn't you go tell the passengers to brace for impact or something?'' He asked and tapped the armrest.

Bonney raised her head slightly but lowered almost instantly, ''What is the point… We are going to die anyway.''

''Well, one missile won't destroy a plane of this size.'' Ichiro's words caused a shimmer of hope to appear in her eyes, but then he continued, ''But three will.'' He looked back at the radar, and three dots were approaching with deadly speed.

Bonney's hopes were once again crushed.

Lucas grabbed a water bottle and gulped it down to quench his parched throat, ''Bonney… Go tell everyone to prepare for a crash landing.''

Bonney shakily nodded and left the cockpit.

''Rick, come here— I will try to make the missiles miss!'' Lucas shouted and wanted to try at least something.

Rick was about to stand up, but then Ichiro said words which stopped him, ''No use, you can't turn the plane quick enough, and if they aren't complete idiots, they should be using hypersonic missiles.''

''So… Are we destined to die?'' Rick sat back down with an exhausted look. He had registered death already; now, he only has to wait for the Grim Reaper to embrace him.

''Yes.'' Ichiro replied without minding much, ''Everyone will die at one point— it is inevitable.''

Lucas grabbed the tiller tighter and was getting more anxious by the moment.

The tiller looks somewhat similar to the steering wheel used in cars, but it isn't a round like a wheel.

''But we can delay the death,'' Ichiro said and leaned forwards until his hands were touching his shoes.

''What are you doing?'' Lucas asked while looking back and forth between Ichiro and radar.

''Taking my shoes off, I just got these by stea… by borrowing from nice young lads, and these are only ones I have left— it would be a shame if they would break.'' He untied the shoelaces and put them down on the floor of the plane.

Lucas sweatdropped and shouted, ''We are still gonna die, and you are worried about 10$ shoes?!''

''Hey!'' Ichiro snapped his head towards Lucas and pointed at him with his index finger, ''These have sentimental value. The young men whom I borrowed these shoes didn't look that wealthy, and still, they were kind enough to borrow them, so be nice!''

Lucas, almost faceplanted but with a defeated expression, said, ''I am sorry…''

''Hmph.'' Ichiro crossed his arms and looked other way.

Lucas felt veins popping on his forehead, 'This young man is so annoying…'

Soon, Ichiro looked towards the cockpit door and heard distinct noise of screams coming from passengers.

''I hope they are seated at least— it will be a bumpy ride.'' He turned his head around and looked towards the distance, where a black dot suddenly appeared.

''Ah, there!'' Lucas pointed at the black dot, and finally, the fear was registered on him.

Rick covered his face and lowered his head, ''This is a nightmare… That's right… Any moment now, I will wake up on my comfy bed…''

Ichiro looked towards Rick and shouted, ''Put a belt on!''

''What is the point!'' Rick screamed and glared towards Ichiro, ''We all are dead, all because of you!'' He started pointing with a shaky finger.

''Motherfucker.'' Ichiro stood up and stomped towards Rick, who covered his face in fear.

But, Ichiro grabbed the belt and tightened it around Rick until he was properly tied up.

''There, not that difficult, isn't it?'' Ichiro snorted and sat back on his chair.

A trail of urine dripped down from Rick's groin as he felt even more fear facing against Ichiro than the incoming death that goes with the name of missiles.

''Aren't you going to put a belt on?!'' Lucas anxiously shouted and saw Ichiro sitting without any protection.

''No, it will be a hindrance,'' Ichiro replied.

'What the hell is wrong with him!' Lucas started ignoring the crazy young man and concentrated on the missile.

He took a deep breath and planned to do everything in his power to dodge the deadly missile!

Ichiro took a glimpse of the radar and calculated the distance in his mind.

'Second one will come ten seconds later… Third one ten seconds after the second missile…' He did a quick calculation, but was ready for his calculation to be inaccurate.

''Ahhhhhhh!'' Lucas suddenly screamed and forcefully started to move the steering wheel, but suddenly Ichiro stopped him.

''Don't!''

''Get off!'' Lucas screamed and tried to push Ichiro away but didn't even manage to make him flinch, ''Do you want all of us to die?!''

''Tsk.'' Ichiro clicked his tongue and took a glimpse outside the window, and the missile was less than a kilometer away.

''If you dodge now, the missile will have enough time to change trajectories and kill us.''

''Then what should we do!'' Lucas screamed with despair.

''You shouldn't do anything.'' Ichiro patted his shoulder and said, ''Sit tight.''

Lucas gritted his teeth and pressed a button on the dashboard, ''Prepare for impact!'' His words traveled far away.

Everyone in the plane heard him, and reality finally struck everyone.

The plane will crash, and there wasn't anything they could do about it.

Patti, Hessu, Antti, and Antero were fear-struck and couldn't believe how unlucky they were!

They were about to arrive in their home country as heroes, but now they are gonna die?!

If the plane crashes, it will land in the middle of the ocean, and they will never be found!

No one will ever find out what happened to them.

There have been countless plane crashes, and none of them was found after falling down on the ocean.

There could be survivors that managed to enter one of the Islands, but there are millions of them and will never be found again.

And, the Islands were filled with dangerous Mutated Beasts, the chance of survival was zero!
