Chapter 61: Chapter 61

[PS Event For Will Start On PS Reset!!]

[+200PS= +1Chapter!]

Hikaru immediately replied to Steven's email and finally realized that the gemstone collector who had been inquiring about Evolutionary Stones earlier was actually Steven himself.

To be honest, the profession of "gemstone collector" isn't rare in the Pokémon world. In the games, Trainers with this role are usually categorized as "Gentlemen" or "Hikers," so Hikaru never expected it to be Steven Stone!

Steven, the Champion of the Hoenn region, was someone Hikaru was familiar with from childhood memories of playing the Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald games. Along with his close friend Wallace, the two would often trade the Champion title back and forth.

The reason Steven frequently switched the Champion position with Wallace was due to his passion for traveling and excavating rare stones. Honestly, he might as well adopt Paldea's Champion-tier system, where the Elite Four are also considered Champions. That way, Steven could freely leave whenever he wanted.

Right—Steven had many rare stones. Hikaru suddenly thought of something important and hurriedly sent a reply.

"I do have some rare stones here."

As soon as Steven received the response, he quickly replied and even added Hikaru as a friend.

"Hello, let me formally introduce myself. I am Steven Stone, a gemstone collector passionate about collecting rare stones. Through certain channels, I learned about your shop and the unique stones you've sold in the past—namely, Evolutionary Stones."

"I have already tracked down the previous buyer and confirmed the details. You once told me that Evolutionary Stones might appear in areas where Pokémon gather in large numbers. I conducted some investigations but have yet to find anything significant."

"So, about the rare stone you mentioned—what is it?"

Finding nothing was expected—Evolutionary Stones weren't something one could just stumble upon.

Hikaru quickly sent another message:

"A special rock that fell off the Legendary Pokémon, Regirock."

"A rock from a Legendary Titan?! That's amazing!"

Steven seemed extremely excited. Hikaru deduced that this version of Steven had never encountered the Legendary Titans, unlike his counterpart from Pokémon Adventures.

In the mainline games and anime, the Hoenn Regi Trio weren't required captures; they were more of puzzle-based Legendaries. Based on game lore, it was highly likely that the Regi Trio in Hoenn had never been caught by anyone and were still in hibernation.

After all, Regis were scattered across various regions, and in the combined games, anime, and manga, the only legal owner of a Regi Trio was Brandon, the Pyramid King—but his Regis were unrelated to Hoenn's.

"By the way, I wanted to ask—do you have a Sun Stone or a Dusk Stone?"

"Sun Stones and Dusk Stones are quite rare. Unfortunately, I don't have a Sun Stone on hand, but I do have a Dusk Stone, which was excavated from Mt. Pyre long ago. If you need it, I'd be happy to gift it to you."

Hikaru was delighted. "That's great! But I'd prefer to buy it instead."

"No need. This is a personal gift—please accept it. To be honest, I do have a favor to ask. If you ever come across Evolutionary Stones or discover new types, I'd like to purchase them from you."

New Evolutionary Stones... Hikaru did have one, but it was already given to Doublade.

As Hikaru was lost in thought, Doublade suddenly spoke up, asking about the meaning of the text on the computer. Hikaru explained the conversation.

Surprisingly, after hearing the explanation, both of Doublade's eyes flickered.

"Yoowoo~"

Since someone wanted the stone, why not sell it?

After all, once it evolved, it wouldn't need the stone anymore!

Hikaru was puzzled—Doublade had always been obsessed with rare stones, so why was it suddenly okay with selling this one?

Doublade crossed its two ribbon-like arms as if folding them over its nonexistent chest.

"Yoopup... Yoowoo!"

It had a new plan.

After hearing that suspicious customer's speech about nation-building, Doublade felt there was something worth learning from it!

This wasn't just selling a stone—it was an investment in relationships!

With this stone as a foundation, this powerful individual would eventually become an ally.

If one wanted to be a king, they had to gather strong figures under their command. This was called winning hearts! Doublade was paving the way for Hikaru!

How about that? Wasn't it doing a great job as an advisor?

Plan: Success!

Hikaru blinked, then sighed.

So it was related to that edgy kingdom-building scheme after all.

Still, no matter how ridiculous the logic was, Doublade was helping. Hikaru adjusted his mindset.

"You do have a point. Once you evolve, you won't need the Evolutionary Stone anymore. But it's a shame there's no Sun Stone—otherwise, Petilil could evolve." Hikaru glanced at Petilil, who waved its leaves dismissively.

"Waa-waa!"

I'm strong even without evolving!

Hikaru thought for a moment and decided not to mention the Evolutionary Stone for now. Once Steven arrived, they could discuss it face-to-face. Meanwhile, Petilil could use the stone to reclaim its habitat.

For now, it was better to keep it.

So Hikaru agreed to Steven's request, and the latter quickly responded.

"I'll visit around July 5th-6th. Is that alright? We can discuss everything in detail when we meet. Thank you for your time!"

Steven seemed thrilled—when it came to stones, his enthusiasm knew no bounds.

He was so obsessed with collecting them that he'd even resign from his Champion position just to search for more.

"Man, Steven... Devon Corporation is filthy rich. He's a major client. Financially speaking, only Mr. Bourgeois could compare... No, wait, even Mr. Bourgeois couldn't match up. After all, in the games, that family went bankrupt from collecting antiques, right?" (TL: For the people that don't know, it's a character from Pokemon Ranger: Guardian Signs)

"Bai~"

"Yoowoo~"

Petilil and Doublade cheered.

Today had brought in many new orders!

"Alright, let's go make some glass!"

After finishing the online transactions, Hikaru gathered Petilil and Doublade and returned to the forge, carrying a wooden bucket filled with soft sand.

The Ruins of the Mountains had plenty of soft sand, so Hikaru brought back half a sack, along with various minerals.

The journey back was heavier without Celebi's help using Psychic to lift the load, but thanks to the superhuman strength of people in the Pokémon world, Hikaru managed to transport everything.

Unique glassmaking techniques surfaced in his mind.

Preparation: Sand, limestone, soda ash, and plant ash.

Melting: Heat the sand in a furnace above 1800°C, melting the quartz.

Shaping: Blow and mold the molten glass using hollow metal pipes.

Cooling: Rapidly cool the molten glass to form a transparent structure.

That was the basic process.

The specialized glassmaking techniques would enhance the craft, and with the Charizard figurine in the forge amplifying the furnace's heat, temperature wouldn't be a concern.

But Hikaru had an idea. Looking at Petilil, who was curiously observing the forge, he suddenly said:

"Hey, let's try something new!"

"Petilil!"

"Waa-waa?" Petilil tilted its head.

"Use Sunny Day!"

Although confused, Petilil obeyed.

A powerful radiant sun appeared on the ceiling—no need for light bulbs now!

Hikaru then pointed at the furnace.

"Adjust your power and use Weather Ball!"

Petilil recalled the move it had learned from work.

"Waa-waa." Closing its eyes, it gathered energy, forming three orbs in front of it.

"Waa-waa!"

The Weather Ball orbs ignited and were tossed into the furnace, causing a massive blaze!

"Nice! Petilil can help with forging now—your control over Weather Ball is impressive!"

Letting a Grass-type Pokémon assist in fire-based forging?

Well, this Grass-type knew Fire-type moves!

"Waa-waa!"

Petilil was delighted—it had another job it could help with!

A few hours later, after careful shaping, Hikaru completed a small glass whistle.

"Yoowoo..."

Doublade, watching Hikaru and Petilil work, felt left out.

Before the forge reopened, it had helped with everything, but now, it couldn't participate in glassmaking!

"It's alright. Every Pokémon has its strengths and weaknesses—just do what you're best at." Hikaru reassured Doublade.

Then he examined the newly crafted whistle.

Crafted Item: Glass Whistle of the Earth

Effect 1: Boosts Ground-type move power by 25% when blown by a Trainer or Pokémon.

Effect 2: Enhances Ground-type energy perception, improving Pokémon training. While in this state, the user is immune to critical hits.

New Blueprint Unlocked: Specialty Mirror Crafting

Hikaru carefully examined the newly crafted Glass Whistle of the Earth in his hands. The transparent surface reflected the warm glow of the forge fire, showcasing its fine craftsmanship. He nodded in satisfaction.

Doublade, still feeling left out, let out a low murmur and shifted its position slightly. It longed to be part of the process but knew that working with molten glass was beyond its capabilities.

"You still play an important role, you know," Hikaru reassured Doublade, sensing its emotions. "We all contribute in different ways."

Doublade perked up slightly but remained silent.

Now that the Glass Whistle of the Earth was successfully created, Hikaru was curious about the specialty mirror crafting knowledge that had just appeared in his mind.

[New Material: Mirror Armor]

A thought crossed Hikaru's mind. A mirror that retained Steel-type abilities? That sounded incredibly useful.

"A glass item with Pokémon properties... Could I create something similar to those artifacts used in ancient Pokémon myths?" he wondered aloud.

The knowledge about Mirror Forging filled his thoughts. The crafting method seemed complex, but it was something he could work toward.

"If I can get my hands on a Corviknight with Mirror Armor, I should be able to extract the necessary materials..." Hikaru murmured, making a mental note.

For now, he set the glass whistle aside and cleaned up the forge. The day's work had been productive.

Just then, his Pokémon communicator lit up with an incoming message.

It was from Steven.

"I'm preparing for the trip now. I should arrive on the morning of July 5th. Looking forward to discussing the details in person!"

"Steven sure doesn't waste any time when it comes to rare stones," Hikaru mused with a chuckle.

His Pokémon gathered around, sensing the anticipation in the air.

Petilil, now feeling proud of its unexpected role in glassmaking, hopped up and down excitedly.

"Bai~ Bai~!" It chirped happily.

Doublade, though still a little broody, floated closer to Hikaru.

Everything was falling into place.

For now, Hikaru had more preparations to make before Steven's arrival.
