Master Of None-Chapter 2819. A Place To Grow

With everyone letting Walker use his wind mana manipulation to bring them in the air, he couldn't help but feel he was spoiling them instead of making them travel. Even Gil could move through the air in some way. If Alice and Onyx wanted, they could use light mana to make some sort of condensed form to fly too. It felt like he was the only one doing work even with his abundant mana.

That aside, they did not prepare for what they saw in the distance. They had all been clear that in the distance to the north would be ice and snow. Maybe even some smaller mountains. However, they could see what appeared to be trees made of gleaming ice.

"That looks like the water spirit tree but much different since it isn't really made of water or growing. It looks more like…" Gil glanced at Walker and frowned deeply. "It looks like something made using magic to attack and it just mimics the form of a tree."

They all were floating in the air while Walker also glanced at the larger shape in the distance. He knew that this couldn't be that old, or could it?

"Could attacks from ancient monsters still exist like that? That could be why the north is colder here. It's part of the environment and the ancient remnants from monsters able to change everything around them to suit their affinity."

As Su asked this and pointed out the focus, everyone returned to the fact that ancient monsters here had been literal forces of nature. They could change everything around them to the point that they eradicated entire species of monster and intelligent races. If this was a remnant, then whatever existed before their fight, well, it was something none of them wished to see.

"I think we all need to look closer, because that ice thing killed something and the body is still down there." Everyone's breath caught in their throats as Gil spoke and pointed. Walker and Alice immediately shared buffs so that they and everyone else could see what Gil was able to make out from this distance.

While they were looking at the gruesome remnants of what had once been a battle, Walker was also trying his hardest to get an appraisal of the massive thing.

The sprawled figure was reminiscent of a dragon's body. More jagged and broken with the bony shapes that came with decaying over time showing. It was also clear that snow, ice, and plants had grown over a lot of what they could see giving the false pretense that this was just part of the terrain if anyone or anything was traveling in that area.

The massive tree like shape was sprouting from it and releasing mana. Walker could sense it much better with his intense focus now. That attack had pierced and been the final killing blow to the ancient monster dead on the ground. It also seemed to be absorbing the mana from the dad monster and using it as a way to convert the entire area in to a more dense form of blizzard tundra.

Being able to make something like that for generations to survive must have come with a major cost. It also must have been something so massive and powerful that it would have been called an apex predator among predators. Something so immensely strong that Walker was sure it would not have perished if the binds with the elemental planes broke before it traveled in to them.

Most likely, whatever monster had won this fight retreated in to the water elemental planes and might still be alive there now, or had passed on its bloodline many years ago.

'Tyrant volcano wyrm corpse

This is the body of one of the most brutal dragon ancestors. While it lacked intelligence due to the fact that it only focused on growth and power, it was still a force of nature that could create volcanoes wherever it traveled. It often went to battle against nature itself to change the environment in colder areas due to its desire to see the entire world in magma.

This obsession caused it to fight endlessly and made it one of the most violent slaughtering monsters of ancient times.

Its scales are often found and considered to be veins of ores or materials to be harvested. Its bones are often discovered and harvested as immensely valuable materials due to the fact that over time they decay in to solidified gem stones with the capability of holding larger amounts of fire and earth mana within them.

This ancient monster perished at the hand of the starlight tundra treant, a species of ancient monster known for creating sprouts of spiritual trees just to control an area of ice and snow around it. Most beings that face it will not survive due to the fact that it can convert other manas in to condensed water and light mana that allows for a unique form of ice mana that radiates and freezes the land.

This corpse has decayed greatly but can still be harvested. The damage from the ice and the spirit of mana consuming spirit trees has broken the body to a higher tier of damage than average. Due to this the materials may be lesser in value but still extremely valuable for today's day and age…'

There was a shocking amount of information that Walker was able to read. He didn't know exactly what he could put to value in terms of the material potential here. But he also was glad to hear that the being capable of killing and leaving behind that ice tree sprout was not around.

But knowing that a treant species, ancient and powerful, used light mana and water mana at such high density to convert an opposing mana of earth and fire to make a constant flow of tundra was hard to accept. Generations had passed and this are had maintained its size and temperature. If such a monster were to return to the world, then it could easily cause a massive imbalance capable of taking over more than just this continent.

The fact that the true sages and elemental kings had been able to take power and balance the elemental planes was something that should never be taken for granted. It also proved that their control over their individual elemental planes was powerful enough to contain such world changing beings.

There was the potential that one day the people of the world would be strong enough to encounter these beings, but for now, the people needed time and protection. Eventually they may have the opportunity to compete at such a high level, for now though, growth and potential was the focus and would remain that way.

"So, I think we have looked enough at that. We might just need to return to Genesis and have a vacation before we go looking at everything else." It was very strange seeing that Remey had changed her mind about finding something to fight. Then again, they all felt like they had just glimpsed an image of their own currently weaker state and how they would need to come a lot further to be able to fight monsters of that caliber.

They too were still protected. Walker knew this more than the others. They had somewhat encountered beings able to manipulate space and even time. The origin race was so powerful that they moved in to places and fought beings that couldn't be quantified by the world's logic. So, if he were to grow and the others were to grow, they would need to encounter strength of that same level.

"We can one day harvest those materials for now-"

'Ideal living environment discovered for the fairy dragons of water, ice, and light. Quest generating.'

Walker saw this and realized everyone else had also received the same quest. They had the fairy dragons dormant in that hidden space and so were the eggs. They had taken to the air to see more and they had seen. But they had also managed to look at the perfect environment for the fairy dragons to grow and develop more naturally.

While Walker had expected to be bringing all of them to places where they would be protected at all times, the system and the will of the world seemed to think that this was not the case. That this would present a better environment for them.

Then again, the fairy dragons were a species that resonated with nature at a level unseen by others, even elemental spirits would work with and look up to them. Therefore, it was entirely possible that the fairy dragons hatched or awakened in an area like that, would be able to survive and even thrive. They just needed a little push to get started.
