Mated to A Rival Alpha-Chapter 315: The Tattered Map of The Soul
[OBREN]
"You and the whole realm, brother. You and the whole realm. We didn’t even think that it was possible but then most wolves were there. The survivors of Calindra said that the high warlock had come there and helped burn down Calindra.
"I know it sounds like some nightmare, but that is the truth, a nightmare we live in, and one we have no option but to live in," Ilsun said sadly as he looked at the wolves he was traveling with.
They were not even sure where they headed but they wanted to be clear of Rania’s sight. It was crazy, how they had been recorded to runners when their home had been the best and safest kingdom to ever exist.
Right now, Obren wasn’t even a shell of what it once had been, no.
It was a hell hole, a dystopian reality that none of them had been ready to face. It was the kind of hell that they would never be able to come out of, unless there were peace treaties, but where were the treaties when there wasn’t a king to formalize them?
What would that even mean when the royals were living in a dungeon instead of being the people they were revered to be?
It was just a separate entity on its own and incayon was literally the most dangerous place to be in and the most dangerous name to pronounce on their lips.
"But—" Bai Ting tried, and Ilsun just continued.
"He was the advocate of peace and he was, for as long as we knew him. And then he suddenly just changed, switched sides, like he was possessed or something.
"Of course, the first logical thing was to think that Kim Rania had held him hostage and that there was a lot that we didn’t know, but those who saw them had realized that it wasn’t just forced.
"Rania and nothing on Han Seong. If anything, they realized that the high warlock had an evil twin, the one from the myths. Over the years we heard of the Seto twins and what the brothers would do.
"But imagine the shock when we learned that Han Seong was the same twin, the one who was always doing good, and saving people. And his other twin, was the barbarian of the barbarians.
"The man from the myths and the bastard that many would rather die than face—" Ilsun said, the realization dawning on the brothers who had come far from home to get help from the impossible.
Oh, but this was fucked up in so many ways, because right now the brothers weren’t true if there was any hope for them. The brothers had reunited. But perhaps there was someone else, right?
"Kaisei Seto," Bai Ting said, completing Ilsun’s description.
A part of him, just like his brother was hoping that Ilsun wouldn’t say yes to that assumption, but then as it was, they just had lost wishes for a man who wouldn’t give two shits about them or even help them with their vengeance against Kim Rania.
This was a failed mission and they had to agree with that, no matter what the fates threw their way. There was just no way for them to make peace with this.
But what else could they do?
"Yeah. Kaia Seto, humanity’s greatest evil, is the high warlock’s brother. And that also means that Yanagida Seto is the high warlock of the Valley of the Whites.
"I don’t know what else there is, but one thing we know for certain, is that the brothers are formidable and now they are on Rania’s side, not to mention the warrior healer, the rogue queen, and Odelia, the troll that never chooses sides, is also on her side.
"The goddess must have really been high when she was creating that bond for them. Or maybe, just maybe, she saw that Rania was wronged by the whole realm and figured she would help the girl that we all hurt knowingly and unknowingly get her vengeance—
"—be protected by the best of the worst creation in all realms," Ilsun signed differently. None of them had ever understood how a team like that could rally for a girl who had been known to be the reject of the realm.
It was like a long fantasy, and Kim Rania was living that fantasy. Everyone that people were scared of, was on her side and loved her like their little sister. They cared for her in ways that no one would have predicted.
The most dangerous creatures smiled genuinely around her and treated her like family.
They protected her so much and that was the one thing that the Kravoski brothers hadn’t even thought possible. But then as it was, karma had a face, and right now, Kim Rania and her team of dangerous misfits were that karma.
"That is definitely a lot to process. What the fuck happened to home?" Nate asked no one in particular as he stopped to take a breather. He looked at his brother who also knew they were fucked.
There was no other way out of this and their expectations had been thwarted. Well, at least the information they had received was the truth, because the Seto brothers were in Obren.
Yanagida was here but the only disadvantage to that truth was the fact that Kaisei was also here and had reunited with his brother. The sane twin was with the master of evil and that was too cruel a reality for King Nathaniel.
Nate wished there was a way for him to make it up to his daughter, but the obstacles were dire and there was just too much that they would have to deal with.
What were they even supposed to do, when they were just two men in a kingdom too broken and one that had people running to safety?
Home was no longer home and goodness, Nate wished that this was some cruel nightmare, only that it was real. He wasn’t even a wolf living in Obren anymore, but he could feel his heart break for the wolves who had lived here their whole lives.
There was war and no one was coming to their aid. That in itself was a cruel reality and the sooner they understood that, maybe things would get better, right?
Perhaps there would be an explanation for all of this, but how was that even supposed to be possible when there were too many broken hearts in their home?
"This is just crazy. Anyway, thank you for the information. We will go to the people’s palace and look for survivors. I know the place has some tunnels, we might find people there," Bai Ting said and Ilsun just chuckled defeatedly as he looked at the Kravoski brothers.
Their hope was pleasant but they couldn’t deny that hope was making it easier for them to be targets of a woman of doom.
A woman who would do whatever it took to make sure that she got what she wanted and what other thing did Kim Rania need other than complete and utter vengeance and destruction of everyone who hurt her?
She would ruin them and she wasn’t going to stop, at least that much she had already made sure everyone knew of. Forgiveness wasn’t an option and right now. The whole of Obama had already known that. 𝚏𝕣𝐞𝗲𝐰𝕖𝐛𝐧𝕠𝕧𝚎𝚕.𝐜𝚘𝗺
"Oh, how beautiful your hope is. But—"
