Chapter 337: The Circus of Kings and Queens

[RANIA]

"Well, who said the Lunar trial was the worst in the history of all wives should have seen this betrayal coming. A queen who couldn’t keep it in her pants and a King who was played by his best friend who was also a King.

"Damn, Eunbi-a, you must have some nice coochie for men to leave their Kingdoms for y—"Rania said and Dalrae slammed her hand on her sister’s filter-less mouth. Rani was rubbing salt on their wounds so badly and it kinda hurt what the reality was.

Luna Park, who had been watching in silence, couldn’t help but wonder what the hell they had just witnessed or were continuing to witness. This was worse than a trial by fire because there was just no way that this shit had happened in real life.

It all seemed like some damning folk tale and it could have remained just that, if they didn’t know that Obren was the center of all the secrets.

Obren was a shitshow that everyone knew and they owned that beyond the walls of every house, were secrets that could bring down the whole realm.

Well, Yanna’s truth was just proof of it all.

"She knew who I belonged to?" Yanna asked defeatedly as she thought back to the woman who had brought her up, the one she had grown used to, and the woman who had shown her nothing but love.

It was quite hard to believe that the same woman was the one who had hidden her whole parentage from her. It just didn’t make any sense and once again, Yanna wasn’t sure what to make of what she had just heard.

It was like her whole life was a lie and now she had sent eight thousand warriors to be slaughtered by the immortal army.

There was no winning this one, not even with a surrender.

Incayon had made it clear when the battle began, that they would not be taking any prisoners in this war.

"Who knew the crazy old hag could be on anyone’s side, let alone mine?" King Seojoon laughed humorlessly, the pain of his wife and mate’s betrayal hitting so hard that he wasn’t sure he could even face his wife again.

He was never going to look at her the same way and that was expected. She had betrayed him with their best friend, and the world had listened to their betrayal.

It wasn’t something that they could just sweep under the rug. That was the worst part of all this, because no matter what happened no matter where the tithes led them, they had a home to save.

But then would it be worth it this time?

Would it make any sense at their time?

"I know right? Karma works in mysterious ways," Rania said with a laugh as she tried to wiggle out of Kaia’s lap, but the lycan pulled her closer to him, letting her be distracted by the sparks that came from their bond.

They had agreed not to use their mate bond as a weapon against them but right now Kaia figured that there was only one thing that could redirect Kim Rania’s sarcastic remarks and thoughts to something else.

His touch, and the feel of their mate bond.

"Kai—" Rania whispered suddenly, making Dalrae roll her eyes at the couple.

"I’ll stone both of you, I swear," Dalrae said and Odelia just pulled her to the side as if to help her out.

"I didn’t kill your daughter, Seojoon. Your Junghwa is alive and well, somewhere in this realm," King Nathaniel said and the Kings looked at each other like this was some sick joke. There was just no way, right?

"Nice try, messing with me because you fucked my wife and have a fully grown daughter with abandonment issues won’t fix the betrayal Nate," King Seojoon said and this time, Nate let out a lonely laugh.

"I wouldn’t bend that low. But then you don’t trust me anyway, right? I found out about your daughter being alive when I went looking for my dead daughter’s body.

"Funny how Luna Kim knew so much and yet she couldn’t divulge,’’ Nate said and at the mention of the dead Luna, Queen Eunbi looked up again. She had never thought that such a day would come, but goddamn, what the hell were the fates on today?

It wasn’t like other days being alert or even getting a warning to prepare them or anything. This was a shitty day for all of them and the only one who seemed to be enjoying the chaos was Kim Rania, who was thankfully distracted, right?

"My mother was a bitch. If I were you, I wouldn’t trust her, or my dad," Rania said as she breathed in Kaia to keep her calm. It was crazy what was happening and how it all found its way to her and her family.

There was a light at the end of the long tunnel of misery, only that for Rania, it ended with the light shining on people’s misery. That shit was supposed to mean something but goddamn, it was just a whole mess.

"It’s either he does that, or she adds fuel to the fire. You know she won’t shut up and her anger, however, justified, could make the whole situation into a shit show with everyone killing each other," Odelia explained.

Dalrae sighed, as she looked at her mate who was sharing the same look as her. Well, it seemed like Odelia’s explanation made some sense to them because it calmed them, and that was more than they could anticipate, in such situations.

"I shouldn’t have started the damn conversation," Daehyun said regretfully as he listened to the pandora that had just been opened. It and him wonder what the hell was the tightness in the realm.

This made him think of the times he had been worried so much for Calindra and how he had wished that there was someone like Rania who protected Calindra like Rania protected her Incayon despite everything.

However, here and now, Daehyun wasn’t sure anymore.

"I think it’s too late for that, brother. Also, this shit is crazy. Who knew the royal families were this fucked?" Jihoon asked and Jungwoo let out a sigh. Even he hadn’t been expecting this crazy bunch as his family.

He was the prince and yet he didn’t even know the first thing about his life, and now he was suspecting everything he knew about his family; there wasn’t even a manual on his to deal with the cruel reality, especially with a noose on their necks and fire surrounding them.

There weren’t that many options and the whole family was a circus in front of all the pack leaders here. There was no way they would be recovering from this.

"It’s crazy, right? Who knew my mom had a thing with the vampire King? And that the rogue queen, the vamp king, and my parents were in some sort of friend group.

"Damn, that’s a lot to process, I’ll be honest," Jungwoo admitted and they all looked at him like he had missed out on something.

Everything was just not what he had thought it would be when they had been kidnapped by the misfits. It was just a lot for them to process, making it all crazy.

"Well, the world is a circus, might as well have the Kings and queens running it, don’t you think?" Chang Wook said and Dalrae facepalmed.

There was just no telling with the Kim siblings.
