Mated To My Best Friend's Lycan Alpha Brothers-Chapter 459: The New, Handsome Guy Part 2
(Author’s POV)
"Hey, where’s the newbie?" Perry tapped on a random girl’s shoulder and asked.
"The handsome one? Ma’am took him to his designated class," she told them. "Which one, which one?" Perry followed with another question; her tone filled with eagerness. "I don’t know," the reply came. After saying this, the girl walked away, leaving Perry disappointed. As for Amelia, she didn’t care much.
Perry smacked her thigh, "We missed the chance, shit~ ..."
"Language, Perry," Amelia scolded while looking around to see if any teacher had caught on. She then pulled her friend and said, "If we are done here, let’s go back to the class. Ms. Doull will have our necks otherwise."
"Nahhh~ ... she will only have my neck. After all, you are her favourite student. She won’t utter a word to you." Perry muttered, letting herself be dragged on by her friend.
As they neared their class, a flock of three or four birds, or rather girls, were gathered in the corridor, grabbing their attention. "Aren’t they from the senior year? What are they gawking at inside our class?" Perry commented.
Amelia didn’t say anything as they kept on walking. The girls were blocking the way, so she said, "Excuse me, let us pass through. Excuse me~" her tone polite and respectful.
They managed to get past the flock somehow. When they reached the entrance, Perry couldn’t help but cuss out, her eyes widening, "HOLY ... SHIT ..." This time, Amelia didn’t scold her or even stop her. She, too, was in shock, staring at the person before them.
Ms. Janet Doull, their homeroom teacher, saw Amelia and said, "Amelia, you are here. Come inside. You too, Perry."
Perry started to walk, but she halted her steps midway when she noticed her friend hadn’t moved an inch. She glanced back to find Amelia rooted to her spot, her eyes dilated. Perry called out, "Lia, what are you standing there for. Ms. Doull is calling."
Amelia snapped out of her shocking state and finally entered the class. Ms. Doull gestured for Perry to take her seat while she asked Amelia, "Amelia, this is Denver Brooks, your new classmate. As the class representative, help him settle in and look after him." She instructed, her voice soft yet firm. "Now, you two may take your respective seats." After saying her piece, she departed the class.
The guy named Denver didn’t give a single glance in Amelia’s direction and straight away walked towards the end, taking his seat. Amelia was left dumbfounded by the sheer ignorance as her gaze followed him. ’This guy? Isn’t he~ ... isn’t he the one I saw at the party? I thought the way he carried himself and talked to the elders made him seem like an older guy. What is he doing here?’ She thought. ’Was he of my age?’
"Class Rep~ ..." someone called out. "Amelia, Amelia Clinton~ ..."
For the second time, Amelia pulled herself out of her thoughts and back to reality. She asked, "Yes, what do you want, Justin?"
"Can I get your chemistry notes?" her classmate asked. Amelia nodded and gave it to him. She then decided to approach her new classmate and make a proper introduction. After taking a deep, long breath, she marched towards him.
Denver’s face was tilted to the side, towards the window, his eyes closed. He was taking in the gentle rays of the sun, completely oblivious to Amelia’s presence behind him. Or was he not? Who knows.
Amelia stood there, cleared her throat and started with an awkward greeting, "Uhhh~ .... Hi,"
No reply came from the other side.
Amelia’s eyes flickered as she attempted the second time, "Excuse me~ ..."
Same old, same old.
By this time, the entire class was looking in their direction. Amelia felt somewhat embarrassed, somewhat offended. She has never been ignored like that by anyone, ever. This blatant ignorance blazed something inside her as she uttered, tapping her knuckles on his desk twice, "Hey, Denver. Don’t you know it’s rude not to reply when someone has been calling you?" Her tone was reprimanding.
Denver Brooks finally opened his eyes. A weary sigh escaped his mouth before he turned around to look at her. As their eyes met, Amelia felt her breath hitching, her hands curled into balls on either side. ’When I saw him that day, at the gala, it was from a distance, but he really is handsome amongst all the boys I have seen. What, wait~ ... what am I?? What the heck am I thinking? What’s with this crap? Lia, get a grip on yourself.’ She patted her cheeks mentally to compose herself.
Finally, the man of the hour decided to open his mouth, "Yes, what do you want?"
Amelia’s mouth twitched, hearing his aloof tone and seeing his laid back attitude. She once again calmed herself. Plastering a polite smile on her lips, she said, "Ms. Doull asked me to help you. Do you~ ..."
"No need. I can manage," with these five words, he dismissed Amelia and resumed what he was doing earlier. Basking in the sun.
Amelia was appalled at him. He wasn’t even showing basic courtesy towards her. ’Why is he so full of himself. Good looking yet, but big time jerk. She wanted to charge at him, but with her classmates watching, she had to swallow her pride. With a stiff, stretched smile, she said, "Okay~ .... if you need anything, anytime, feel free to come to me." And with that, she turned around and returned to her seat in the first row. The smile disappeared the second she settled down.
Perry, whose seat was just behind her, leaned forward and said, "He is the same guy I was talking about~ .... Ohhh my gosh, ohhh my gosh~ .... We are so lucky. Lia. This is a sign. A big damn, gigantic sign. Take it, Lia. Take it with both hands."
’Lucky sign, my foot. I thought he was a kind person, hahh .... My mistake,’ she scoffed inwardly.
And just like that, their story began.
