Aria pov

Jaxon slowly walked towards me as Maya and Her friends moved back. Maya was still trying to keep a calm and innocent face, as she thought Jaxon had not seen what she had just done, but instead, Jaxon behaved like he did not see any of them and just walked directly to me.

He sat beside me on the bed and caressed my hair, " I am sorry I was late. Something was urgent, but I could not make it here. I just hope you will understand," he said to me, and I smiled widely, my gaze not leaving that of Maya and her friends, for they seemed so surprised. After all, they had just mocked me a few minutes ago.

"I am not angry with Jaxon. I knew you’d come, and just as expected, you came". I said to him, and Maya felt more angry. I could not understand why she felt so angry or jealous; it was his life.

Jaxon smiled awkwardly at me and then turned back to Maya. He stood up and slowly walked towards Maya as she hesitantly stepped backward like she was feeling scared.

"I came to check on Aria, do not mind me. I came a bit late. I did not get the news early." Maya lied to Jaxon as he listened hard but did not see anything.

After those words from Maya, Jaxon could not help but begin to chuckle. "Are you sure you came to check on Aria, or you’re just here to mock her for being in such a situation?"Jaxon said to Maya, and she began to chuckle as she stared at me.

I could not understand why she felt so scared of Jaxon. I thought she was so obsessed with him, though. I decided to keep a straight face. If she was going to lie, then so be it. I was not going to start dragging it with her that she was the cause of my predicament and the reason why I was sitting on the hospital bed with half my hair all gone.

Jaxon turned to me one second and stared at me before returning to Maya. "Are you sure you only came to check on her, and you don’t know what happened to her and why her hair is in that situation? Because, as I can clearly remember the news being told to me, it happened in school, and you clearly are in that school, so how did you not know about it?"

At first, Maya seemed nervous, but then she put on a brave face and walked towards Jaxon, smiling at him.

"I did not do anything in case you want to start blaming me because you know that I and She have some issues, but so that you know, it’s not my fault. She bumped into people who didn’t like her, and they decided to lit her hair on fire." She said bravely to Jaxon and I couldn’t help but praise her guts.

Just then, the hospital door opened, and Tim entered.

It was not what I wanted. Maya, Tim, and Jaxon are in one room. It was too hectic for me to have control over, but I decided to keep a straight face and watch what was going to happen. T

im had some refreshments in his hand as he walked in. He turned to the both of us; that is me and Jaxon in confusion. He walked towards Jaxon and smiled even if the smile seemed fake and half-hearted.

"So you finally came after all the calls. She had to put you through all the pleading. She had to message you multiple times to remind you that she was in the hospital and you were the only one close by to take care of her. I guess you would never change."Tim said to Jaxon, and I felt so frustrated.

This wasn’t what I wanted, but the minute I saw Tim enter this room. I knew this would always happen, and I would not be able to avoid it, so I just needed to be brave and watch what was happening.

"What do you mean by I could not go? I was in a situation where I could not even come, and I could not explain it to her, but I promised her, I promised to explain it, so please do not start blaming me. Yes, she is my sister. As you people say it, and I care for her." Jaxon said to Tim.

I never planned or wanted Jaxon and Tim to get into an argument. Most especially not in the presence of Maya and her friends, who were very good at blabbering and would just go around telling people what happened between Tim and Jaxon before they started spreading false news of things that did not happen and before it started,

"you two should please stop fighting. We will just have to settle this matter. Do you understand and please it enough? With all this fight, it’s getting on my nerves." I said to them but They were still giving themselves intense and bad gazes.

"I think Tim should leave," Jaxon said to me and that made Tim chuckle.

"Inside The both of us. Who do you think is not supposed to be here? You Should leave while I tell you nicely because I don’t think you are needed here."Tim said to Jaxon,

"Are you forgetting the fact that she is my responsibility and you are just her friend? That’s the difference. You are her friend, and she is my responsibility, so I think that is enough for you to know what to do, and please shut it and get out. Thank you so much for caring for her for the past few hours. I don’t mind paying you back for it." Jaxon growled at Tim.

"Wow, this is just unimaginable...you both are in love with the same girl." Maya interrupted and I couldn’t help but feel even frustrated.
