Mated To The Demon Prince-Chapter 126: Good
It began to rain as everyone held their breaths when she suddenly paused in the middle of the dining room. Her hands slipped away from her invisible date’s hold. She just stood there, looking like she had been frozen by time and at that moment confusing, familiar, horrifying and heartbreaking scenes, emotions and occurrences of this world and the one in another world reeled non-stop at the back of her mind.
It overwhelmed her all at once. In all those hazy moments she was either crying, calling and yearning out for Ree-ree, making friends of supernatural races, having a loving, caring and powerful family. The demon prince and who he really was...his twisted obsession for her...their marriage...the pain of being stabbed by him...her last moments in that cold cell as she forcibly tore out the little heart-guarding scale from her chest...there was blood everywhere, all around her...the pain was unmeasurably indescribable.
Her eyes rolled to the back of her head as she collapsed right in the middle of the floorboards of the dinning area of the restaurant the moment she gave up.
The panicked sounds, murmurs and racing hearts of everyone at the diner were muffled by the heavy downpour and rumbling from the dark clouds above them.
Everyone panicked as they frantically began to dial 911 all at once. Some group of men raced to their feet, kneeling before her when they noticed she wasn’t breathing again. They began to perform CPR on her...applying as much pressure as they could on her chest to get her breathing and her pulse working again before 911 arrived. Everyone rose to their feet as the manager of the establishment was called as the situation slowly got out of control. He tried to calm everyone down and called 911 again to be here as fast as they could.
The men performing the CPR on her never gave up. Most people’s spine were tingling in horror as they expected only the worst should occur from here. The rain grew heavier and uncontrollably, affecting the early arrival of the ambulance.
Just when everyone thought all hope was lost... Charlotte gasped back to life, the amulet around her neck vanishing without anyone paying attention as it brought her back home and to her third life. But this time, in her true form, back where it all started in 2019 in a very much sane world she was a bit proud to call hers and with a promise of change this time.

’’My God, Charlotte. How could you pass out like that in a restaurant and create such a massive scene?’’ Miranda scolded while her daughter’s gaze remained glued on the year, date, and month written on the calendar placed beside the bed of her VIP room. It’s been close to twenty-four hours since she has been rushed to this hospital in an emergency and a soft smile curved on the corners of her lips in understanding.
All that flashed before her eyes right before she fainted weren’t dreams but memories. Memories of the crazy timelines and world she has traveled to. She hoped the fate of Evangeline— the body of the werewolf princess she borrowed to be with her Ree-ree— was reversed as well. That no one had to die for her to live that terrible timeline.
’’What?’’
Her annoying mother said, leaning close to observe her neck.
’’Charlotte, did you remove that protection necklace around your neck you swore to me never to take off?’’
She finally acknowledged her mother with heavy disgust and annoyance. How come fate didn’t change by giving her a good mom or better yet, one that didn’t murder her husband, who was one of the reasons she didn’t have a normal childhood. She only removed the drip inserted around her wrist gently enough to not draw blood, rolled out of her bed and began to leave the room for a breath of fresh air.
’’Charlotte! Charlotte! Where are you going?’’
She made sure to close the door, turning the locks to prevent her from following her. The doctor only said she was dehydrated— the reason for her fainting but between her and the entities messing with her fate and destiny— she understood clearly what she’d just gone through.
She moved past the lonely, sanitized hallways of the VIP section of the general hospital she was rushed to. It was a different hospital this time as this was a new life she was currently living. She wouldn’t really want to say it was a new life when the past times she lived and all she had been through lingered heavily in her chest and remained fresh in her mind. It wasn’t just a dream—it was a moment, a part of her. It could have all been her reality if she had decided to get rid of the ugly necklace like she had always desired too at that time.
Charlotte stared at the dark, starless night as she walked on the rooftop of the hospital barefooted and in that ugly patients gown she so hated. The sky looks darker as the air blows violently to herald the coming of another terrible downpour. It was strange getting used to the weather of this world again when she had survived five long years living under non-stop winter in a foreign land. She missed the smell of rain so much that she could die for it as she leaned on the silver railings in bliss.
A satisfied smile on her face as it felt so ethereal to be back and healthy again. The world below her felt so tiny and alive again. The people moving below her like ants were beings just like her.
There were no werewolves.
Sexy, charming and friendly Elfs.
No strong-willed and sassy Vampire princess for a friend.
No creepy demons from hell to bash her with a whip.
No deceiving moon goddess playing mind games with anyone.
No snow.
No weird festivals and celebrations.
No wars and disasters.
The presence of a strong and familiar wind around her had her mind pausing briefly.
Mostly, there was no malevolent demon prince that would be so crazy about her until the point of taking her life like he promised to do.
A known feeling washed over her senses as her eyes grew teary, and her hands trembled on the railings. Her heart was beating fast as she refused to look anywhere else apart from the world so low beneath her. Those hands clenching the silver railings hard enough to break the bones in them as a sob threatened to escape her lips.
He stood there watching her form as he pushed his gloved hands deep inside the pockets of his dark overcoats. Dark blue-red eyes observing her with crazed possession as he took his time to be with her again.
The closer he got, the more she could hear heaven mocking her.
He stood behind her...just doing nothing but breathing hotly down her neck.
’’Why...are you here?’’ She questioned in a breath while letting her hands fall to the side in defeat.
He really wouldn’t let her be.
How did he know she wouldn’t die but survive enough to come haunt her down here again?
’’To...be...with...you.’’
He said like the wind blowing against her face. And she couldn’t help leaning to him as his arms curved protectively around her waist and his face buried deep within the crook of her neck. The feel of it evoked a feeling strong enough to make her moan in pleasure. Her hands rested on his in satisfaction.
’’Did you remember your promise to me?’’
He held her tighter, inhaling as much of her as he could take. Thankfully she did not die like he feared.
’’And will you still keep them even now that I am alive?’’
’’I promise you, I’ll do anything to keep you forever by my side. Because of you, my world will know peace and everyday I will strive to be the kind of soul worthy of an angel like you and win you over until you are completely mine.’’
Good. She praised in her staring at the dark clouds above their heads and wondering just when it was going to rain on them.
