Max Level is 100? I Can Upgrade All skill s to Lv99999!-Chapter 144 --Another Manor? But I Don’t Want It!
The Grey Vice Commander’s former training grounds...
Caelan paused for a brief moment, his mind momentarily blank, before he realized what Shirley was referring to—it was his father’s old training ground.
Come to think of it, his father had also been a vice commander of the Ironclad Legion? If that was true, then why had he gone missing?
A lingering unease gnawed at Caelan.
It seemed that regarding his parents, his grandfather and the rest of the family had deliberately withheld information from him.
He couldn’t shake the feeling that there were truths about his parents’ fate that were being kept secret.
Yet, whether it was his grandfather or his laid-back cousin, their choice not to tell him was likely meant to protect him.
That thought offered some small consolation. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝕨𝕖𝗯𝚗𝚘𝕧𝕖𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝕞
"No, I don’t want to think about that now," Caelan decided, shaking his head. "Once I become strong enough, all these problems will sort themselves out."
With that resolve in mind, Caelan nodded decisively.
"If that’s the case, then this is perfect!"
He had to admit that Shirley’s professionalism as a housekeeper was impressive and earned his approval.
Her attention to detail and knowledge of estate matters made her presence reassuring.
Moreover, truth be told, Caelan was genuinely curious about the environment in which his parents had once lived.
This opportunity to explore it firsthand was rare, and he wasn’t about to pass it up.
Shirley, for her part, seemed to have anticipated Caelan’s choice all along.
She nodded slightly and spoke.
"Then please, follow me. The Grey Vice Commander’s training ground is located adjacent to your estate."
Caelan nodded again and fell into step behind Shirley, climbing into a stretch Lincoln waiting outside.
The driver was already seated in the front row, engine idling quietly. Once Caelan settled in, the car slowly pulled away.
Sitting in the back of the luxurious vehicle, Caelan found himself momentarily lost in thought.
He never could have imagined, not even in his wildest dreams, that one day he would become a top-tier rich second-generation heir, complete with both a chauffeur and a housekeeper at his disposal.
The sensation was almost unreal, like drifting in a dream he could scarcely believe.
After roughly ten minutes, the stretch Lincoln came to a smooth stop in front of an open training ground. Following Shirley, Caelan stepped out and entered the grounds, which had remained largely untouched for many years.
Though the training ground had not been actively used for a long time, it was still maintained by a staff responsible for cleaning and upkeep.
Thus, when Caelan walked through it, he was struck not by decay but by a preserved sense of elegance and functionality.
"Honored master," Shirley began, her tone carrying both reverence and pride, "this is the training ground your father once used. It is also one of the finest training grounds in the entire royal city."
Even Shirley herself, as skilled and seasoned as she was, normally did not have the clearance to enter this area.
Her presence here was solely due to Caelan’s arrival and status.
Twenty years had passed, yet the training ground and the adjacent villa remained some of the most luxurious and meticulously designed properties Caelan had ever seen.
Shirley, being a seasoned housekeeper, displayed an almost childlike admiration for the estate, as if she were beholding her favorite treasure.
Caelan noticed the longing in her eyes but chose to remain silent, focusing instead on reaching the security authentication panel at the entrance of the training facility.
As the sole heir, he reasoned, he should have full access, right? With that in mind, he pressed his thumb against the fingerprint scanner.
Almost instantly, a semi-transparent notification box appeared before his eyes:
[Detection of young master’s return. Transferring permissions, please wait...]
[Permission transfer successful. Honored Caelan, from today onward, you are the master of this estate, possessing all associated rights!]
Caelan blinked, momentarily stunned.
Wait... what? How did this happen?
He had only intended to use the training facility. How had he inadvertently inherited the entire estate?
Shirley, having recovered from her initial shock, quickly approached, excitement evident in her voice.
"Master, it appears the Grey Vice Commander held you in the highest regard," she explained. "He had set things up so that you would inherit this estate. Upon your arrival, this transfer of ownership was automatically granted."
Caelan nodded, but a look of helpless resignation crossed his face.
This wasn’t a joke.
He already lived in a sprawling manor and had begun feeling overwhelmed by its sheer size.
Now, suddenly, he was responsible for a second estate—a mansion so grand that one person could hardly utilize it fully.
One individual... two estates? What was he supposed to do with them? There was simply no way to occupy both.
At that moment, the thought of selling one of the estates even crossed his mind.
But reason quickly intervened. Caesar’s estate was, after all, his legitimate property.
Even if he temporarily inherited his father’s mansion, eventually his father would return and require a place to live.
For now, it made sense to simply safeguard it, treating himself as a temporary caretaker.
Having resolved that in his mind, Caelan felt a sense of calm.
Shirley, ever the professional, continued to offer guidance.
"Honored master, as your housekeeper, I would strongly recommend assembling a team of caretakers to manage this estate. The upkeep of such a luxurious property, including regular maintenance and repairs, requires a significant investment. Of course, given your resources, these expenses would be negligible."
Caelan’s jaw nearly dropped at her words.
Wait... what did she just say? He had inherited an estate and still needed to hire a management team?
So let me get this straight: he wasn’t even living in this property, yet he had to spend extra funds on staff? This was turning into a pure liability!
"Uh... Shirley," Caelan began hesitantly, "can I... decline this inheritance? I already have a place to live, so there’s absolutely no need for a second estate!"
Shirley shook her head firmly, unwavering.
"Master, the inheritance ceremony is complete. The transfer of rights cannot be reversed. However..."
Her eyes softened as she glanced at the nearly flawless villa behind her.
A faint blush tinged her cheeks. She bit her lip, then spoke quietly yet earnestly:
"If you agree, I can personally oversee the management of this estate. I hope you trust me. While my abilities are limited, I assure you that..."
Shirley had intended to plead her case further when she suddenly felt a warm hand rest gently on her shoulder.
"Very well. Then this estate will be entrusted to you as well. As for the management costs..."
The sudden touch left Shirley momentarily dazed, overwhelmed by happiness.
After a brief pause, she shook her head emphatically.
"No need, master. I will not require any additional payment. My salary has already been covered by the Ironclad Legion, and..."
Caelan’s heart leapt at this revelation.
Shirley was compensated directly by the Legion. Generously, he patted his chest in affirmation:
"No need? Managing two estates should naturally require additional compensation! Don’t worry, I will coordinate with the Ironclad Legion regarding your pay."
For the first time since inheriting the property, Caelan felt a sense of relief and confidence.
Despite the overwhelming scale of responsibility, he knew Shirley’s competence and loyalty meant the estates were in capable hands.
