Chapter 1012: Disappointed

Klaus couldn’t help but sit disappointed; after all, he had expected great things, a legendary exchange between Null Anthony and Aaaninja Chronisynth Eternos, yet none of that had happened. He had imagined a legendary clash, a dazzling exchange of sword skills, abilities and devastating techniques, a battle that would shake and very much shatter the separate plane itself, but... it seemed reality had only mocked his expectations and excitement.

Anthony versus Anthony was supposed to be the climax, the cherry of this spar, but it had ended just like that, abrupt and almost anticlimactic.

But Klaus had expected the outcome nonetheless; while that Aaaninja was also a ridiculous talent in his own right, the age gap alone showed just how utterly ridiculous Anthony was. After all, Anthony was merely nineteen years of age, while Aaaninja was over three centuries old. Anthony had also touched the Apexus Mana Rank first, before Aaaninja did, an achievement that in itself spoke volumes of his abnormality.

Besides, even if Aaaninja had touched the Apexus Mana Rank first before Anthony, Klaus knew it would make no difference to the outcome of the spar. After all, wasn’t every Older Generation here already standing firmly at the Apexus Mana Rank?

Klaus wasn’t the only disappointed person; everyone else was as well, ranging from Vega to Aura Nova to Veronica. Only Lucian Darkheart sat indifferent, as though he already understood the kind of person Anthony was and had long since accepted the inevitable results of such encounters.

Zachary and Nyxss’s hearts tightened within their chests, not from disappointment, no, they felt none of that, as they held no expectations for their son and only wanted him to live a life he himself desired to live. Their chests tightened because of how their son, Aaaninja, might be feeling.

He had come to defeat Anthony only to lose against someone he had defeated in the past and did not even consider an obstacle, and then had also lost to the person he had trained solely for during the past three years, even while gaining an immense power-up that would have placed him leagues above almost anyone else present in existence.

Aura Nova’s eyes shifted towards Aaaninja, who had just sat down on his seat. She did not speak; her sky-blue eyes remained on him for a moment before shifting towards Null Anthony. ’So this is the gap between him and everyone else,’ she thought to herself as she stared at Anthony. ’Such a ridiculous talent and power level.’ Her eyes narrowed for a moment, contemplative and analytical, before she let out a soft sigh. But the next moment, a smile graced her lips as she fell into the thought of sparring against Anthony again.

’Next time, for sure,’ she concluded to herself as she tore her eyes away from Anthony and Aaaninja’s direction, a spark of competitive excitement quietly igniting within her heart.

Aaaninja sat with his eyes closed for a moment. He did not frown, nor was his ego injured, as he was not some foolish Young Master who would crumble from a single defeat. Then he opened them again, his Eyes Of Genesis turning towards Lucian Darkheart, who was smiling at him from the side.

"I know what you are going to say," Aaaninja stated as he met Lucian’s black gaze.

Lucian Darkheart smiled as he teased, "What? That I told you so?" he asked with a teasing tone, his expression one of amused satisfaction.

Aaaninja remained silent as he did not rebuke Lucian’s words. "Why don’t you tell me what you know?" he suggested, as he could guess Lucian certainly knew something that others did not.

Lucian arched an eyebrow as he could understand what Aaaninja meant by that question, but he could not exactly just open his mouth and be like: "Hey, this reality is a novel, and Anthony is the main character; I basically won against you because I summoned the author himself."

If he said anything like that, people would just look at him as though he were crazy. But someone like Aura Nova might actually be inclined to believe him a bit; after all, she was a lover of novels and games, and she was very well aware of what the fourth wall was and the strange concepts that existed within fictional narratives.

"You can think of it like a skill; next time, just take my words for it and save yourself the time and stress," Lucian finally spoke, choosing the most convenient explanation available.

Aaaninja stared at him for a moment, then shook his head slightly. He could not exactly force Lucian into saying what he did not want to say, so he simply accepted Lucian’s words. After all, with that guy’s ridiculous plethora of skills, it would not be weird if he possessed such an obscure and mysterious ability.

Vega sat with a smile on her face. While she had not participated in this spar, she had very much enjoyed every bit of it; after all, only her man remained unbeaten, and everyone else had at least won and lost at some point... well, except poor Sky Kingsley, who did not win a single battle. But nonetheless, his Universal Technique and Limit Break Form were utterly ridiculous. He had only lost because he had met monsters of his own calibre, individuals whose existence itself transcended common sense.

At this moment, the sparring session was drawing to a close. Everyone had almost faced everyone, and everyone now knew and understood where they stood against one another. But at this moment, only a single spar remained: Aaaninja Chronisynth Eternos versus Aura Nova. After them, this gathering and meeting would finally come to a close.

But was everyone excited to see the spar? Not very much. Although they had not seen or witnessed Aaaninja’s new battle prowess yet, the man now stood at a different level of existence from everyone else. There was no doubt that Aura Nova’s possibility of winning against him existed within the zero range, a staggering and absolute zero percent.

The only question in their minds was whether Aaaninja was going to play around with Aura Nova a little, or whether he was simply going to end it the same way Anthony had ended the battle between the both of them.

Veronica and Altheria could not help but feel a bit sad. Who knew when next they would witness a battle of this calibre? After all, they did not even exist within the same plane of power as these ridiculous individuals.

Veronica herself was Vega’s age mate, a nineteen year old girl. She was basically the weakest here, no different from a mortal in comparison to everyone present. Even Altheria was stronger than her; after all, Altheria was a Celestial, and just her race alone already made her biologically superior to Veronica.

Altheria knew that her talent would get her to the Apexus Mana Rank one day; there was no doubt about that since everyone practically knew about it within the Celestial Solar System. But how long it would take her to get there, that remained completely unknown.

As for Veronica, she did not even know if she could ever reach the Apexus Mana Rank. Although Lucian had already told her not to bother herself about such matters, assuring her that with his presence alone, reaching the Apexus Mana Rank would be easy, the uncertainty still lingered faintly within the depths of her mind.
