Miss Witch Doesn't Want to be a Diva-Chapter 693 - 297: The 17-Year-Old Hexia
"Alright, that's the shot, Miss Hexia, please slightly lower your head and then lift it up."
In the photography studio lined with various lighting equipment, Hexia was dressed in a black off-the-shoulder gown, holding a delicate folding fan. Under the interplay of light and shadow, she lightly pressed her hand against her chest, bowed her head, then lifted it, revealing those enchanting blue eyes, giving off an unusually intense impact.
"Oh, simply fantastic, an indescribable perfect~"
The chief photographer of the studio shouted into the microphone, and the other busy staff members had already become accustomed to it.
This was a professional set specializing in shooting movies and various song MVs. Hexia was currently recording an MV for a witch-themed song. On the main screen nearby, as the girl raised her head and stood up, an endless expanse of land unfolded behind her, dotted with a mountain of corpses and an army of necromancy, with knights riding skeletal horses and holding aloft the banner of wisteria crescent moon racing by, and from time to time, broken undead dragons soared through the sky.
"Onward, to the ends of the earth and the apocalypse of the world!"
Gradually, the grand music accompaniment started, within which the girl's clear, ethereal voice was particularly sorrowful and majestic.
This orderly recording session continued until 3 pm before it came to an end.
Hearing the staff announce that the work was done, Hexia breathed a sigh of relief, relaxedly leaning back on the deep purple upholstered throne. Incidentally, this chair had been custom-made for this album; it was crafted from Condensing Bead Rank walnut wood, with fabric and workmanship meticulously selected. Soft upholstering with rose-decorated studs adorned the backrest, while the top of the chair back featured a crescent moon pattern, with ancient maxims engraved in lettering on either side of the armrests.
Leaning back in the chair, many of the studio staff had already dispersed, some were packing up. Just as the girl closed her eyes to rest, an icy cool fingertip touched her forehead.
"Efnie?"
Seeing the blonde figure leaning over in front of her, Hexia called out her name with a hint of surprise.
"Here, have some water," said Efnie, handing her a bottle of mineral water.
Hexia took the water Efnie offered, sipped it, then set it down.
"I just happened to be around here today for some business, so I thought I'd come and see you. Is the MV done now?" Efnie stood by Hexia's side, chatting.
"Yeah, the filming is mostly done; what's left is the editing and touch-ups," Hexia said, lightly pressing her fingers on her legs, easing the slight soreness. She had spent the day filming the entire MV, changing through several locations and scenes.
"Very fair," Efnie bent over and also gently pressed on the girl's knees, which tickled Hexia a bit, feeling completely different from her own touch.
"Feeling shy?" Efnie asked with a smile, watching the girl twist her legs uneasily.
"Not really." Hexia caught Efnie's fingers, pulling her to sit on her lap, then inquired about the Goldfish Princess's recent schedule.
"Last month I participated in a dance performance in the Central Star Domain, and then I sought advice from some seniors in the entertainment industry. I only returned to Four-leaf Crystal at the beginning of this month," Efnie shared her recent activities.
"Once this semester is over, it'll be the fourth year already."
"Time flies so fast," Hexia lamented softly, holding Efnie.
"Yeah, the last year is just around the corner," Efnie stood up as she spoke. Despite Hexia not minding it, Efnie's figure made her look like Hexia's older sister, and sitting on the somewhat delicate Hexia seemed like bullying to some of the crew members who were tidying up around them, casting curious glances their way.
"Hexia hasn't changed much, has she?" Efnie noted, looking at the girl seated in the chair, seeing barely any noticeable change from two years ago.
"Not grown at all?" Efnie murmured softly, her gaze sweeping over the girl's chest and legs. The inspection made Hexia slightly shift her body as if trying to escape Efnie's line of sight.
"Okay, stop looking. I really haven't grown much this year." The girl pouted, stretching out her hand to block Efnie's view.
Compared to her first two years after enrollment, Hexia hadn't changed much this year indeed, with no further increase in height, stabilizing around 165 cm. At the same age, Temisia had been much more mature in figure, and even a little taller.
"Maybe it's because of the changes brought about by my Talent," Hexia said, herself not too certain.
"That's quite like the historical witches," Efnie recalled the descriptions in legends.
"Witches almost never aged, and their appearance often stayed fixed at a certain stage, such as the famous Witch of the Books, who maintained the form of a little girl for her entire life, just like a doll."

"Maybe Hexia you are a Witch too~" Efnie joked.
"Witches don't exist anymore," Hexia shook her head. According to the classified information from the Federation, witches in the past were born due to the shattering of the three great Crowns. Now that the majestic Crowns of the Gods were gone, witches shouldn't exist either.
"That's true." The conversation then shifted to other topics, such as their feelings about the MV shoot and recent news events.
"Saint Yingo encountered a bit of a setback up north, and then other corporate powers seized the opportunity," Efnie shared the news she had heard.
"Originally, in this restart plan, all the major corporations wanted a share of the pie. According to the projections, Saint Yingo was expected to secure 40% of the regions, but now they're hovering around 30%."
"Is it because of the gangs and resistance movements in the north?" Hexia had heard similar news.
"Yes, but that's not the main reason. Other corporations seized the void and quickly filled it. On their own, they wouldn't have been able to change the outcome," Efnie assessed.
"That's the tide of the times. I must say, because of you, Hexia, the current situation has changed a lot." After turning 17, Efnie began to learn some political matters at home. Her father had mentioned that in the last two years, the situation within Four-leaf Crystal had been dramatically turbulent.
"I only started it. The wish was already the desire of most residents in the Star Domain. I just helped express and consolidate it," Hexia shook her head slightly.
"Even so, we still have to thank Hexia. Having a songstress like you is indeed a fortunate thing," Efnie whispered as she gently hugged Hexia close.
With ears turning slightly red, Hexia pushed Efnie away, noticing that the chest of the Goldfish Princess in front of her seemed to have filled out quite a bit; probably a 'D'?
"You don't need to get that close to say thanks~"
Having said that, Hexia also stood up. After resting for a bit, she had recovered and it was time to go back.
