MMORPG: Rise of the Primordial Godsmith-Chapter 1433: Myriad Prodigies: Scouting
Although the young attendant was slightly confused at first when he mentioned Ataraxia's alliance as his affiliation, it did not take long for her to find out information on it, prompting her to nod as she noted the information down.
After a few more questions here and there, Valyr was eventually allowed to enter the amphitheater, eliciting a slight wave from the young attendant as they parted ways.
"Best of luck on the tournament, Sir Ylvar."
Faintly smiling as he waved back, the young man slowly made his way to the main portion of the amphitheater, only to be greeted by the sight of an arena that looked like it could accommodate more than a couple hundred thousand people.
"Definitely bigger than the Astella Coliseum," murmured Valyr to himself as he continued to look at the main amphitheater for a bit more.
Briefly watching the performances that were happening at the arena while the participants were registering, the young man soon made his way to where the participants were gathered, which was under the amphitheater.
There, a massive space the size of a town's territory could be found, all of which was packed to the brim with buildings that contained various amenities.
Though this was his first time coming to this place, Valyr could easily infer that most, if not all of the buildings in this space had only been created a few days before the start of the tournament.
After all, there's no sense in a town under an amphitheater if there weren't a lot of people perusing it.
Leisurely making his way through the various streets of the underground town, the young man subtly assessed the competition that he walked past, imagining his chances of victory against them if he went all out.
At the same time, he also took it as an opportunity to gauge his other identity's strength towards these same people, only to then find out that Ataraxia had a level of strength that would allow him to stand out among the rest.
'However, it's not at a level where it would guarantee the top spots of the competition.'
As this thought came to his mind, Valyr's gaze slowly turned towards a series of buildings from afar, the aura emanating from one of those buildings strong enough to instill a slight sense of vigilance within him.
With a solemn expression on his face, he decided to get a bit closer, eventually obtaining the answer as to how strong that being actually was.
'At least Rank 5,' thought Valyr to himself, his other identity still exploring the various amenities the underground town had to offer. 'Considering that they're suppressing their aura, it wouldn't be far-fetched if they were at the peak of Rank 5.'
Scratching the back of his head as the thought lingered in his mind, the young man soon made use of his movement skill, subtly speeding up the pace at which he traversed the underground town.
With that, he was able to sense more auras throughout the town that were of a similar caliber, their strengths fluctuating between being weaker than the first aura he sensed and far stronger than it.
Nevertheless, as he came across more and more of these auras, the expression on his face turned more and more solemn, prompting him to realize that reaching the top spot of the competition wasn't as easy as he thought it would initially be.
'There's no way my other identity is going to get into the top spots,' said Valyr to himself inwardly, faintly shaking his head as he accepted the fate his other identity had.
'But then again….'
'That might change if I were to use [Soul Fusion].'
Just like how [Soul Split] increased in duration after the level gap between his two identities had decreased, the potency of [Soul Fusion] greatly increased now that only one class rank separated the two of them.
Compared to the 10% stat conversion rate the initial version of [Soul Fusion] had, the skill began to boast a 40% stat conversion rate the moment Ataraxia achieved the peak of Rank 2.
Now that his player identity was at the peak of Rank 3, [Soul Fusion] now allowed 70% of the stats of his other identity to be transferred over, lasting for over 2 minutes before dispelling on its own.
Naturally, with both identities having access to the same skill, the transference of stats went both ways. However, with his original identity's stats being ahead of his player identity, it went without saying that the latter would benefit more from it.
Deciding not to burden himself over the various what-ifs of the competition that was to come, the young man decided to pass the time within the underground town for the meantime, only to find out that he had entered the amphitheater during the first day of registration.
With two days of registration still ahead of him, Valyr decided to explore everything that the amphitheater had to offer during the next couple of days, whether it was the main amphitheater on the surface or the underground town he was in.
Of course, he also took the extra time he had as an opportunity to try and obtain information on their target before the tournament began.
However, no matter how much he tried, he couldn't obtain any extra information on Erika whatsoever, with most of the information he obtained on her encompassing more or less what Mystia told him a couple of days ago.
'…I suppose it makes sense, though,' thought the young man as he left yet another building that gathered information on just about anything.
'Erika's the half-sister of the current king, after all. It would be weird if the royal family of the kingdom didn't clamp information on themselves down.'
'Then again, it's also weird that there's no additional information on her even on the buildings that have ties to the black market.'
'Is this the reason why Mystia wanted both of my identities to enter the tournament?' As this question came to mind, the young man soon felt that it was the most likely answer, reminding himself that the empire had a far more extensive intelligence network than what his efforts could achieve.
In the end, Valyr decided to end his attempts at obtaining information on her for the meantime, shooting Braum a quick message to find more information on Erika before placing the thought at the back of his head.
Unknowingly, the next two days passed by quickly after that.
